Futures and Frosting (Chocolate Lovers Series, Book #2)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Ok guys, they’re back! And I hope like hell you read book #1 in this series. If your sense of humor did not fit well with Seductions and Snacks, it will most definitely not fit here. You have been warned and I must say, if by the crazy chance you didn’t find the first book funny, your friendship with me would be in question. Let’s go.

Once again, this book is told through the POV of Claire and Carter. This series is an example of a reader getting lost in a book and at some point wishing is was some sort of reality. I did a little research on the internet to see if there is even talk to turn this book into a movie and couldn’t find anything regarding it, but I personally think that this series would make a much better TV series, on like HBO of course. I can only dream that someone will get their paws on this and make it to where I’m tuning in once a week and waiting for it to go to Netflix, oohh, that’s who should make into a series: Netflix. Ok, someone needs to get this ball rolling.

There have NEVER been truer feelings written than the ones that Claire has in the first few pages of this book. The last book left us with Claire announcing to Gavin that they would be moving in with Carter. As this book begins, Claire is fantasizing about different ways to choke Carter. I know, funny, right? Truth is, it’s only because of his snoring and her lack of sleep. I for one can say, that we’ve all been there. Maybe not choke, but roll of the bed with the force of a dump truck.

Just like the last book, this book will focus on the growing relationship between Carter and Claire, but will also focus on the relationship of the whole group. We will see the planning of, as well as the nuptials of Jim and Liz. There will be an out of control co-bachelor/bachelorette parties that will have you tearing up with laughter. A meeting of the parents (Carter’s that is) that will have you double checking Facebook, just to be safe and extra careful about who you friend request.

Seduction and Snacks is up and running and doing very well. Claire is finally getting everything she wished for or is she? Does she want marriage or is she too fearful of turning out like her mom and dad? So, of course their relationship would need to move forward, especially with Claire and Gavin moving in with Carter. One of the central stories in this book is Carter wanting to propose to Claire. During Carter’s POV, we see the hard work that he puts into the proposals (yes, there are several attempts) while Claire unknowingly shoots them down. Through Claire’s POV, we learn that marriage isn’t something she thinks she wants. Because of this, there is a wishful/suspicious porn addiction and Claire’s crazy hormones making her think that Carter isn’t interested anymore.

I won’t give away what there is to give away in this book. Just know that the craziness didn’t stop with the first book. This book is going to bring you pot cookies, dinner roll baseball, Claire’s crazy mom, an unforgettable trip to the sex toy store, and once again the foul mouth of Gavin.

What I really love about this book, is it really is a great love story. One of the reasons I love reading a book that has both POV’s is because, like with this book, you can see how much Carter really loves Claire and Gavin. But for me, it wasn’t just a romantic love story, it’s a love story among friends. The dynamic between these characters that Tara Sivec was able to capture in words made the story believable. I love reading fiction and I know that it is a fantasy, but I use my imagination so much when I read that I like to think it could be true and she does that. You can’t help but really connect to everyone of these characters. While the focus of the first two books have been on Claire and Carter, I think that the supporting characters really round out the depth of this series. As crass and crude as Drew can be, I couldn’t imagine him written any other way. I actually know people who have no idea how to use the words that are coming out of their mouths. Not as extreme as Jenny, but still makes you look at them, like WTF? This series just keeps getting better and better, even after reading it over and over. So, thank you Tara Sivec, for allowing me to escape from time to time, even if it’s just for one chapter, but really, can it ever be just one chapter?

Cooper (Corps Security Series Book #4) by Harper Sloan

CooperCooper (Corps Security)Synopsis TagCooper (Corps Security)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Cooper (Corps Security, Book #4)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This is book 5 of 6 in the Corps Security Series and not to sound like a broken record, but if you haven’t read the previous books in this series, you may be slightly confused and very disappointed, especially because this book comes on the heel of the murder of Coop, oops, I gave it away. See that’s what you get for not reading these books in order. Now, let’s go.

This book features Asher Cooper and Chelcie Avery and is told through both POV’s. I don’t really want to bring up the past, but after reading Beck, you should know that Asher is the older brother of Coop (wipe the tear) and during Dee’s attack, Coop and Chelcie relieved their stress with one another that resulted in a pregnancy. As expected, Chelcie is pretty torn up with the death of Coop, not because she was harboring some misplaced love for him, she took the one night stand for what is was: one night. She’s upset because, she never had the chance to tell him about the baby. So, enter Asher, who upon first glance, is attracted to Chelcie. Unfortunately, he is so consumed with grief from the murder of his brother that he can’t come up from the bottle that is drowning his sorrows. Chelcie is equally attracted to Asher, but is conflicted in telling him about the baby. She realizes that the knowledge that she is carrying his brother’s child, may be the catalyst that pulls him from his darkness, but since she is attracted to him, she doesn’t want him to view her in a negative manner.

This book will feature some flashbacks during Asher’s POV. The most important ones, in my opinion, are the ones that flashback to the childhood of Asher and Coop. If you remember, Coop was the one who didn’t believe in relationships and was just content having a revolving door of women. The flashbacks will explain why. They focus on their childhood and their drug addicted, bitch mother. Because of the flashbacks, you will understand why Asher blames himself for Coop’s murder and why his need for revenge is so intense.

Asher and Chelcie finally get it together and actually-get together. She obviously tells him about the baby and they will get their HEA, so he is very excited about the birth of Coop’s baby. This is after Dee and Sway “set” Chelcie up on some very ridiculous blind dates, one of which she is rescued from by Asher. Everything is going very smoothly in their relationship except for Asher’s need for revenge. This is a topic that they do not agree upon at all, but they will work it out in the end.

Asher does have a psychotic CRAZY ex, actually, psychotic is being nice. For as smart and in tune to one’s character as these men are, they sure know how to pick the ex. It’s interesting that they can look at “their woman” and can tell whether or not she is lying or hiding something, but can’t see crazy when it’s sleeping next to them in bed. This particular ex does cause some havoc, but thankfully none too damaging. However, it does bring Emmy back.

There are some pretty emotional, heavy moments in this book. For me, the most poignant was when Chelcie delivered the baby. I won’t spoil, but it was very moving. It was also good to see Asher being brought out of his very dark place, one thing I would’ve appreciated though, was some sort of confrontation with his mother. The flashbacks were enough to establish her as a character and I felt that Asher would’ve gotten true closure being able to confront the one person who planted his roots.

They were present in this book, just not as much as in the first couple of books in the series. Dee was more prevalent in this book, because of her relationship with Chelcie. We do see the other characters, it’s just very seldom and with everyone having babies, it would’ve been nice to see where they all were more than what was offered.

Sex, sex, and sex. Well, this is an important part of these books and the sex here is good, not the best that we’ve seen in this series. I will give Harper Sloan credit though, she did a good job writing very passionate sex scenes where the woman is pregnant without it being awkward. It didn’t deter her from still being very vivid in her descriptions, which is always appreciated.

All in all, good book. I’m still reeling from the death of Coop, so this one was a little emotional for me. The series is almost coming to an end, Maddox Locke is next and from what I can tell the last one to get his story told. Stay tuned.

Beck (Corps Security Series Book #3) by Harper Sloan

Beck (Corps Security)Beck (Corps Security)Synopsis TagBeck (Corps Security)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Beck (Corps Security, Book #3)

BXTCHES Gotta WarnYou probably have already figured out that each of these stories will get their HEA and there is really no cliffhanger, blah, blah, blah. But once again, I highly recommend that you read the books in their respective orders. If you chose to go out of order then be warned that things could get confusing because previous events are referenced in each book.

If you thought the books before were serious and emotionally draining, then prepare yourself to maybe need therapy and a really good drink after this one. Let’s jump on in.

This book follows Dee and Beck. Like the previous books in this series it is told through both of their POV’s. Obviously you know the nature of Dee and Beck’s relationship and like me, you probably thought that they were playing this back and forth game and it was really just a relationship to scratch an itch. And, Dee probably irritated you a little because all arrows pointed to her not wanting the relationship with Beck. If you were one of many that got irritated with Dee, then EVERYTHING is about to be explained and your theory is going to be turned upside down.

This review is going to be difficult to write because there is so much that I can’t say if fear of giving away the book, some stuff I can mention, because it was touched in the other books. So, I will reveal what I can, without ruining anything.

The book starts with a glimpse of Dee’s childhood, which to say was abusive would be an understatement. So, the beginning of her life left a footprint that looks as if it will be embedded for life. Let’s add in the fact that she was somewhat of a witness to Izzy’s marriage with Brandon while harboring the guilt because she set them up, footprint is digging in deeper. Now, don’t forget that Brandon attacked her in her home, well, it’s gonna take an act of God to remove the idea of all that a man is or will become. I would say an act of God, but really just an act of Beck.

The beginning of the book will focus on Dee and Beck first getting together, so the timeline is taking place during Izzy and Axel’s story as well as Greg and Melissa’s. So when we get into the meat of the story, it’s about two years after the end of Axel and right around the end of Greg, give or take some months. I can go ahead and tell you that while everyone knows Dee as the life of the party, she has been faking that personality, in part so she doesn’t have to face all that is destroying her, but also because she doesn’t want to burden anyone. Beck sees right through it and is determined to break through. It’s hard for him, because he continues to get shit from his boys, who keep telling him to leave her alone, why want something that doesn’t want back, etc. Well, they just don’t know.

What happens because of these activities is going to change the Security Corps family forever. Like I said, get ready. This book got to be a little heavy for me to the point that I had to stop in certain places and rest. I will tell you beware reading this in public. Again, there are so many things that I can’t say because it will truly ruin this book for you, you’re just gonna have to trust a BXTCH.

Let’s talk about some good stuff: SEX. There’s a reason Beck calls Dee “wildcat”. Sex between Dee and Beck caused LOTS of destruction, literally. I’m surprised that he didn’t need to replace the entire inside of his home, it was like they were having an out of body experience. But, just like the others, the sex is on fire and this book needs those scorching moments to lighten up all of the heavy stuff.

Beck is close to being one of my favorites, in fact, I will say that he was giving Greg a run for his money, but then I went and read Uncaged (book #4) and my heart grew even bigger for Greg. No worries, Beck is still close behind.

I know that the reviews I have read for this book, some readers are irritated with Dee. I get being irritated prior to reading this book, I just don’t know how you can be after you’re able to understand everything that she has gone through. If anything I was more frustrated with Greg and Izzy for not noticing a friend in need, especially given everything they have been through.

This book was very unexpected. I have definitely loved the series up to this book, I was just not expecting everything this book gave, in fact, I can’t really say that I was willing to take it. There are moments that are going to gut you (have tissue ready), moments that will make you proud of Dee, moments that will make you want to pull you hair out and chunk your e-reader across the room, moments that may make you need a cold shower and a stiff drink, but in the end it will be a moment of love and triumph. I’m not sure why Harper Sloan saved all of this for one book, but good move by her, because if you’re not singing her praises after you read this, you may want to make sure you got the right book. This may very well be a series that gets mourned for when it ends.

Cage (Corps Security Series Book #2) by Harper Sloan

Cage (Corps Security)Cage (Corps Security)Synopsis TagCage (Corps Security)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews

Cage (Corps Security, Book #2)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: The author does tell you that “Cage is a complete story with a HEA”. This is true, but, this is a series that NEEDS TO BE READ IN ORDER. If you read this series out of order, it very well may ruin the other books for you. Fair enough? Now, lets get to it.

I will start by saying, that if you loved Greg Cage in Axel, then you are going to fall even more in love with him here. This book tells the story of Greg “Cage” and Melissa Larson. The book is told through both POV’s, so you will be able to get into the head of both, which is certainly necessary. (Prologue) This book is going to pick up with Axel and Izzy’s ultrasound appointment. If you remember, Greg was on the phone while waiting for Axel and Izzy, and whatever expression he was wearing on his face, gave Izzy cause for concern. Well, we find out here that he is speaking to an individual that he pays to keep tabs on and give him any news regarding the husband of his sister, the one who murdered her. What he finds out, has him seeing red and will forever alter the course of his life.

Fast forward two years, Axel and Izzy have their baby boy, Nate. While trying to get last minute things together for her upcoming nuptials, Nate gets sick and Izzy is in desperate need for someone to take him to the doctor. Uncle Greg to the rescue. While at the doctor, he lays his eyes on the nurse, Melissa, and knows he wants more. Now, I should tell you that Greg is kinda the equivalent to a man whore. He’s just not interested in the long term, settling down type of relationship, well, so he thinks. And to keep his bed and other parts of his body warm, he is involved with a whole bunch of crazy that goes by the name, Mandy. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know just how deep her crazy runs.

Obviously, Greg gets Melissa. This only happens after a couple of interruptions from Crazy herself. Melissa’s past is just as life altering as Greg’s. I promise, I’m not spoiling anything, but I will let you put the pieces of this puzzle together. Melissa is working hard and living just with the bare necessities, so she can help care for her nephew, Cohen. Cohen was left behind when Melissa’s sister, Fia, was murdered by her husband. Fitting the pieces together yet? Well, Greg figures it out very quickly, and decides not to share the news with Melissa, because he doesn’t know yet where their relationship is headed. And, he also harbors so much guilt, that he blames himself for the murder of Melissa’s sister. It also turns out, that Simon (the abusive, murdering asshole) has a just as crazy mom, who wants nothing more than to get Cohen away from Melissa’s mother. So, it should be quite obvious that this is where the drama and pain will circle around in this book. So, I’m giving nothing more away.

Melissa is fantastic. She holds her own with Greg, which is not easy to do when an “alpha male” is involved. She also does not take any crap from Ms. Fatal Attraction, Mandy. In fact, she actually takes her down in true bad ass style at the bachelorette party. She doesn’t use Mandy against Greg, when she has plenty of reason to. She takes it for what it is, his past. True to any “alpha male” storyline/formula, Greg and Melissa fall in love quickly, which is good, because the pain that they will face in this book will require a lot of support from the other.

The sheets they are a burnin’. I’m not even sure the best way to describe the sex in this book. Forget the “26.2” sticker you see on cars. There needs to be some sort of an “all night long” sticker used to identify marathon sex. These two could consume a shit ton of calories daily and it wouldn’t matter, because it would all be burned away between the sheets. The sex in this book is that hot. But, I gotta know. Am I the only one while reading sex scenes, is trying to picture the functionality of the scene. It’s almost like Twister, boy, I need to get back on yoga. I cannot believe I almost forgot to mention that Cage is pierced, yes there. Not only pierced, but what I guess is referred to as the trifecta. So try and hold on to those vagina’s ladies because it is bound to be a glorious ride.

Lots of things to love about this book. Greg’s love for Melissa and vice versa is one. The way Greg took to Cohen, unbelievable and kinda orgasmic. The bond that you continue to see grow with this Corps Security family. And Sway, what’s not to love. Here is the ONLY problem I had with this book. When Greg was at a low point, he sees a book that Melissa is currently reading. The book: Withstanding Me by Crystal Spears. If you haven’t read it yet, it features the Breakneck MC, which is run by the President, Braxxon Breaker. That is the fiction book on the table, which I thought was great, until Greg actually seeks out the help of his old friend, Braxxon Breaker. Now, I know that the book I am reading is fiction, but isn’t it weird that Braxxon Breaker is in the book that is sitting on his table and he is going to see him. Shouldn’t I assume that for Braxxon’s line of work, it is very bad for business to have it printed for all to see. Oh well, just a little hang up, not enough to not love this book!

I hope you are enjoying this series. From here, there are at least 4 books remaining (with hopefully more to come) and currently I am on number five. So trust me when I say that the further into the series we go, the more emotionally draining that they are.

Axel (Corps Security Series Book #1) by Harper Sloan

Axel (Corps Security)Axel (Corps Security)Synopsis TagAxel (Corps Security)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Axel (Corps Security, Book #1)

WARNING: There is domestic violence in this book. The author does not sugarcoat the scenes, they are a bit rough. If this is a sensitive subject for you, please take it into consideration.

This is book one in the Corps Security Series and it is a fantastic start to a fabulous series. This book will focus on the relationship between Isabelle (Izzy) West and Holt (Axel) Reid. There is a lot of “book” packed into the 260 pages, so get ready and hang on to your emotions and your panties, because they will both be hanging on by a thin thread by the end of this rollercoaster.

This book is told through the POV of Izzy and Axel. I love it when an author uses both the H and h to tell the story. Most of the time I feel that it’s a perk. Maybe not completely necessary, but more of a bonus. In this story, it is totally necessary. These two characters are on opposite sides of the globe when it comes to the re-telling of “their” story.

Izzy and Axel met when they were in high school and fell madly in love. So much so that they planned out their future and new they were going to get a “happy ever after”. Axel is a foster kid, not from a very good foster home and as soon as the opportunity presents itself, he enlists in the Marines. Izzy is a year behind him, but they make plans to reunite as soon as his basic training is over. Tragic events occur to Izzy that will forever change the destination of her future plans.

I’m not spoiling anything when I tell you that because of one of the tragedies that struck Izzy, she is forced to move from Georgia to North Carolina and live with her grandparents. Afraid of losing contact with Axel, she does the only thing she can think of, and leaves her new address with Axel’s foster mom. Needless to say, but the address was never forwarded and Axel believes that Izzy left him and Izzy believes that Axel has been killed (that’s because the foster mom told her that).

Izzy goes to college, meets Brandon, marries Brandon, then gets beaten continuously by Brandon. She finally gains the strength to leave Brandon and begins her new life in Georgia with her BFF’s, Dee and Greg. This is in essence where the story actually begins.

Dee and Izzy met in college and became friends fast. When Izzy finds the strength to leave her husband, it’s Greg who helps Dee with Izzy’s situation. So, the three of them are thick as thieves and I love the way Ms. Sloan wrote their relationship. It was written in a very familial way, not a sexual one. You can feel the love that these three have for one another. Izzy and Greg share an unfortunate connection. Greg’s sister, Grace, was too in an abusive relationship. Sadly, she didn’t make it out alive, so the bond between them two is pretty unbreakable.

Greg owns a security business and it is growing so much, that he enlists the help of his military buddies to go into business with him. Surely now you can see where this is going. Axel happens to be one of the buddies. Greg knows Izzy’s past, but doesn’t know Axel as Axel, so he has never put two and two together. When circumstances force them to meet, shock is an understatement. For crying out loud, Izzy thought he was actually dead, so imagine seeing that ghost. Axel is of course pissed, because he did eventually find out that Izzy was married, so in true “Alpha Male” style, he becomes somewhat of a ass when they meet for the first time in twelve years.

I’m not going to give all the “fun” away, but this story doesn’t stop from the first page to the last. Izzy refuses to speak to Axel, which as the reader is a bit frustrating, because she is harboring a life altering secret that he deserves to know. I understand why the author kept the lack of communication the way she did, it’s just irritating when neither one of them would confront what happened. Now, obviously this is a love story and with that the H/h need to get their happy ending. Izzy and Axel finally do see the error of their ways, it just takes one ex-husband who doesn’t want to let go in order for that to happen.
AVENA SATIVA – A herb, also super active tadalafil known as male impotency. This happens because the erectile arteries dilate and penile muscles sample viagra pills relax, thereby making the blood flow flawlessly into the soft penile tissues for an erection.
Lots and lots of heartache through violence in this one, but in the end, it is a journey worth taking. The author does a great job in this book introducing you to the supporting characters. They will all get their book, but as the reader, it’s nice to have an established relationship when starting the remaining books.  All of the characters have terrific back and forth banter. The closeness of their group, is almost enviable. I love that Harper Sloan did not need to have any past females of Axel’s pop up. I appreciate that she had enough baggage for Izzy, that she didn’t need any additional baggage to add to the drama of their relationship.

To see the love that Axel and Izzy have for one another actually bring them their deserved fairytale is a very powerful thing. I enjoy reading a powerful alpha male, I mean don’t we all? What I think really brings out “alpha hotness” is when he is not afraid to put his vulnerability on display. My heart broke for everything that Izzy and Axel had to go through, but it was smiling by the time to last page was turned.

The sex scenes rock. As the reader, you know that Izzy is going to have some sort of an adjustment period, but boy, they did not disappoint in the steaminess of their needs. It was A LOT of pent up frustration and heartache and really twelve years of missing your other half, all thrown in to some serious bedroom games. I told you, panties-thin thread, hang on to em’.

All in all, this is a great start to a great series. Next up is Greg Cage’s story. I think that while these books are emotional to read, they are quick and very difficult to put down. I hope you enjoy them. I mean look at the cover, if you can’t get some sort of “gasm” just by looking at that, you are probably reading the wrong genre.

Down and Out (Knockout Love Series Book #1) by Kelley R. Martin

Down and Out (Knockout Love)Down and Out (Knockout Love)Synopsis TagDown and Out (Knockout Love)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Down and Out (Knockout Love Series, Book #1)

This is my first crack at a Kelley Martin read and all I can say afterwards is, where has she been and why did I not know about her. I will go ahead and say that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book. I just so happened to come across this book in my Amazon recommendations and decided to download the sample and I could not have been more pleased. And do I really need to mention the cover? Despite what we were taught growing up, I am definitely a “judge a book by its cover” girl and I couldn’t have been more pleased.

This book is told through both Savannah and Declan’s POV. When we first meet Savannah, she is waking up in the bed of a one night stand attempting to put the pieces of the previous night’s puzzle together. You will quickly learn that Savannah uses sex as a coping mechanism and the why behind that will be discovered later in the book. After making the decision to get her shit together and stop sleeping around, she essentially finds herself homeless. This happens after an extremely short stint of working in a strip club. Declan is introduced to us as a typical bad boy who uses women when he needs them and has nothing more to offer. He is a star in the underground fighting circuit and of course, along with that comes a bevy of women. They meet when Savannah notices a “now hiring” sign in the window of Declan’s gym and begs him for a job.

This is really where the story begins, well kind of. Shortly after starting work at the gym, Declan discovers that Savannah is in fact homeless and living in her car. He then offers her a place to stay and now the story can really begin.

The chemistry between Declan and Savannah is fantastic. First of all, neither one has much of a filter when it comes to speaking their mind and it is very refreshing to read. It’s quite obvious from the start that they are very attracted to one another and the sexual banter that goes back and forth between them will have you laughing out loud. They eventually decide to try and make something of the very thick sexual tension that appears whenever they are in close vicinity of one another. While Declan recognizes that the feelings he has towards Savannah are more than he has ever felt towards any female and he is actually willing to see what can come of it, Savannah is being held hostage by a past that failed her in every way imaginable. She doesn’t do relationships, but is willing to forge into a sexual one with Declan.

Herein lies the problem. Savannah opens up to Declan about her very troubled past, but only partly and the part she leaves out explains a lot about who she is now. So of course, this causes problems. They both suffer from a lack of communication and the problem is they work and live together, so imagine not speaking to that person for weeks. Not an easy feat. Like I mentioned before, Savannah’s past is pretty traumatic and Declan has his own demons as well, but none as life altering as Savannah’s. So, as with all stories of this nature, there is a good amount of drama, some predictable, some not, but all very captivating.

I must say, today’s article is going to be really interesting because we are going to discuss about bad impacts of alcohol and smoking on canada pharmacy cialis your sex life. Along with the satisfaction some time tadalafil mastercard sex becomes a basic need for few people but due to smoking, malnourishment, drug consumption, age factor etc may lead to erectile dysfunction. A study has revealed that most men suffer from total lack of erection, while many men may consider icks.org tadalafil from canada turning to oral supplements to bridge any nutritional gaps in the daily diet, it is best to think twice before trying something new. This problem of male impotence is seen in a sample free cialis number of suffering personalities. There’s not a ton of sex, well intercourse sex, between Declan and Savannah. There are sexual moments that occur between the two of them and those moments are definitely hot and very well written.

I’m going to say something that I don’t want to be construed as anything negative, but it’s kinda easy to compare this story a little to Beautiful Disaster, don’t get crazy, I said a little. I actually didn’t even think of this until after I read the story, so they definitely didn’t interfere with one another. I just think that it’s a good comparison, if you liked Beautiful Disaster, you will like this story. It was very well told, very well written, and the character development is very thorough. Savannah is a very strong female, sometimes too strong for her own good. But she is not someone who is going to get bulldozed, she held her own and I loved that about her. With Declan, usually with the bad/playboy type characters, it takes a while for them to come to terms with their feelings, but not Declan. Once he recognizes them, he goes all out to prove them to Savannah, swoon worthy.

All in all, READ THIS BOOK. It was quick, well for me anyways, this could be because I couldn’t put it down. I read while getting the kids ready for school, waiting to pick them up, if I had a free moment, I was reading. It is fantastic and I’m so excited that I have found another author to read and I cannot wait to read another by this author.

Fighting To Forgive (The Fighting Series Book #2) by JB Salsbury

Fighting to Forgive (Fighting Series, Book #2)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This is book #2 in The Fighting Series and it follows Blake and Layla. You should remember Blake from Fighting to Forget. If you adored Blake in book #1 (which, how could you not), you will fall madly in love with him in this book. Should you read the first book BEFORE this one? YES. There shouldn’t be an explanation needed to why you should go in order, but this is a long series and with so many references to in this series to the other books, just do yourself a favor and go in order. Plus, if the author wanted you to read this book first, then she probably would’ve released it first, so there you go.

This book is told from both Layla and Blake’s POV. I am not an author (obviously), but I can only imagine the challenge that authors face when they make the decision to write their book from the perspective of both the H and h. Once again, Ms. Salsbury is able to accomplish this amazingly. I always feel that when the reader is able to really get into the head of both of the main characters it really makes the story that much richer, especially if the author does it well. So hang on, because this book is phenomenal and is going to take your emotions on one helluva ride.

Layla is new to Las Vegas, transplanted from Seattle. She has moved with her 16 year old daughter, Axelle (Elle) Rose (fantastic name, right?). I’m sure you remember in book #1, when Blake laid down his law for not getting involved with women who come with baggage, i.e. a kid. Well, Layla not only comes with her kid, but enough baggage to fill several 747’s. I’m going to give you the rundown, but I am really going to try and not spoil a whole lot for you, because to say you need to take the journey on your own, is an understatement. Layla got pregnant with Elle when she was just 16 and her parents forced her into marrying Elle’s father, Stew. The marriage was full of abuse (of all kinds), so when the opportunity comes, she leaves. She lands a job working at the UFL training center and that is where she first meets Blake.

I really loved Blake in the first book. Even though he was somewhat of a man whore, he was super lovable and really funny (great combination). This book will lead you into Blake’s demons, which after you discover them, your heart will open even more for him. Of course, Blake doesn’t really understand what it is he is feeling towards Layla. While he may say he doesn’t get involved with moms, after he meets Elle, you can see his tight reign on his “rules” start to loosen. On a side note, do you remember Killian from book #1? Here’s a refresher, he was the kid at the airport that Jonah meets while waiting to pick up Jonah’s mom. He becomes fast friends with Elle in this book, so I hope I’m seeing a Elle/Killian book in the future (fingers crossed).

Perineal pressure due to excessive cycling is the reason behind all sex problems which is usually buy pfizer viagra thought about this insufficient blood flow to the penis resulting in an erection. The drama that is loaded in this book, does not disappoint. From Layla’s own demons that causes her times to be what some would call “crazy”, but it’s easy to understand where her head is at. Because of Blake’s past, it is very difficult for him to see that Layla’s intentions are pure and that causes his own internal battle. I will spoil this (not really a spoil), it is worth reading about the demons they face, just to witness the ending they get.

Here is what I LOVED about this book. First, I love that she is older than him. Call me want you want, but that sh*t is hot. The sex scenes in this book rock. She did a fabulous job with really taking your imagination where it needed to be during EVERY sex scene. One of the back stories in this book, is music, and the main focus of that music is rock n’ roll, and I shouldn’t have to say anything further. In my opinion, Ms. Salsbury’s ability to develop the supporting characters is magnificent (I’m running out of verbs to describe how amazing this book is). Jonah and Raven are in this book, and there is actually some attention paid to them, they’re not just a blip on a page. Eve also makes an appearance, and I really like her, so I am ecstatic that she is getting her own book (#4). The other characters aren’t mentioned a whole lot, but you do get a feel for who they are.

All in all, fantastic read, very well done and I cannot wait to continue this series.

Fighting For Flight (The Fighting Series Book #1) by JB Salsbury

Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Synopsis TagFighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series, Book #1)

This story follows the relationship between Raven Moretti and Jonah Slade. The book begins with the birth of Raven. She is the daughter of a prostitute (Milena) and a very well known pimp (Dominick Moretti). Once Raven is born, Dominick informs Milena that she can raise Raven, but when the time comes, she (Raven) will have to work for him. Raven leaves home once she turns 18, she’s a mechanic who works for Guy, who owns the garage where she works.

The story is told from both Jonah’s and Raven’s POV. I really love it when books are told through both the H/h POV. And if an author can really nail the male dialogue, that’s so much better. I think for a book like this particular one, it’s important to understand where both characters are at, mentally. Ms. Salsbury really does a great job at keeping you in the loop with both of them. There is never really any question about where either Raven or Jonah are at during any point in their relationship and that helps with the flow of the story.

Jonah is a hotshot UFL fighter who never offers himself up to the same girl twice. However, he has a car that needs to be restored and heads to Guy’s garage to meet with Ray. He never expected to be knocked on his a** by a mechanic, but that is in fact what happens. After working together in close quarters (his garage) for a while, they can longer deny the chemistry that is pulling them towards one another. Jonah finds himself feeling things towards Raven that he has only really felt towards his mother and sister (not in a creepy way) and Raven finds herself reacting to him in ways that has never happened to her body (she’s a virgin).

On a quick sidenote: I think that it is HOT, that Ms. Salsbury made Raven a hot little mechanic. I love that she can do a man’s job with the sex appeal of a Playboy Bunny. Even better is, she’s not ashamed of what she does at all. Not that she should be, but she doesn’t allow the opinion of others to effect how she feels about her profession. She knows she’s the best and she is not afraid to flaunt it. So fantastic.
sildenafil overnight shipping When this disorder occurs in your life then it s better that you go for best sex pills for men. Why it is so? Let’s have a look at the major reasons order generic levitra deeprootsmag.org to use this drug: Kamagra Jelly 100mg – Convenient to Use The sildenafil jelly version has ensured a great way to improve the erection health. A variety of studies carried out across US and people should be careful about using them for their patriotism and love for their levitra professional online nation, while Memorial Day is praised to remember everybody who kicked the bucket while giving services. Believe me women like men who are love dominate, last long and have powerful erections, which most women levitra canada pharmacy like during those steamy sessions.
I won’t give anything too juicy away, but here’s what I will tell you. Raven’s dickhead father, Dominick, comes back around making demands, that will force Jonah and Raven into the fight of their young lives. It will put their beliefs in check and their love to the ultimate test.

There really isn’t too much as far as supporting characters go. They are there. Raven’s BFF, Eve, is a little needy, but she is good for Raven. The only complaint I have is, while she plays a pivotal role in the plot in the middle of the story, she kinda flickers out towards the end, she’s there, just not as much as you think someone’s BFF should be. Blake is Jonah’s best friend. He is fantastic. Everything about his character is smooth. He is funny as all get out, he is good with the ladies and you can feel the love he has for Raven and Jonah. Blake’s character development is very thorough, this could be because book #2 will focus on him.

Everything about this book is great. It moves very well, without fluff to fill the “in betweens”. Raven is a very lovable heroine. She is funny, her inner dialogue is fantastic. It’s always intriguing for me when an author must transform a virgin with no sexual experience, into a horny little vixen. Sometimes when it happens, it isn’t very believable, but here, it’s done well. As for the sex in this book, it’s hot. Not scorching hot, but still pretty flame worthy. All in all, a very good read. Book #2, Fighting to Forgive, is currently available and will focus on the story of Blake and Layla.

Deacon (Unfinished Heroes Series Book #4) by Kristen Ashley

Deacon (Unfinished Heroes Series)Deacon (Unfinished Heroes Series)Synopsis TagDeacon (Unfinished Heroes Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews

Deacon (Unfinished Heroes Series, Book #4)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This is book #4 in the Unfinished Heroes Series and by far, this book was my favorite. First warning, in my review for Raid, I said that, that book COULD be read as a stand alone, and I still think that. However, I think that in order to really enjoy THIS book, you need to read the previous three in the series. I don’t think that it is necessary, I just think that this book is more enjoyable if you have read them. If you choose to read this as a stand alone, know that characters from the three previous books make an appearance(s) in this book. Second warning, KA issues a slight “warning” in the beginning of this book, alerting the reader that Deacon is an anti-hero and that this book is an ADULT EROTIC book. She goes on to say that it contains light dominance, bondage, and anal sex. She brings this to the readers attention so if you have an issue with this, this book may not be for you.

One of the qualities I adore about KA’s writing is she intertwines her books from her other series in with, well books from her other series. For example, the cabins that Nina Sheridan visits in The Gamble, is the setting for this book. There are other examples, but why ruin the fun, it’s much more enjoyable when you come across it yourself. So, I love that she makes it to where you want/need to read her other series to really get the full enjoyment out of whatever her current book is. So, here we go.

This book is told MOSTLY from the POV of Cassidy Swallow. Since she was 12 and had her first visit to Colorado with her family, Cassidy has dreamed of owning her own little part of it. The opportunity appears and Cassidy and her boyfriend, Grant, are off to live her dream. While Cassidy is working hard at bringing her own dream to fruition and setting up her cabins, she realizes that maybe Grant isn’t The One to live her dream with. During one of their fights, is where she first meets Deacon or as he introduces himself, John Priest, when he shows up to rent a room. The story will take off quickly and fly through the first six years of Cassidy’s life in Colorado. During those six years, John Priest stays in cabin #11 several times a year. While they never really develop a close relationship during those six years, Cassidy would always try to keep that cabin open and even decorates it to what she thinks he would enjoy. So, while she never really knew how he felt towards her, she always really felt a connection towards him, even if it was one sided.

There relationship takes off once Deacon (still John Priest in the book) reveals to Cassidy, that he continued coming to the cabins for six years, in the hopes that he would discover that she would be taken and not be drawn to come back. Once they admit their attraction to one another, John Priest becomes Deacon and in true KA fashion, is the alpha male we all love from her books. Now, she describes him in her opening “warning” as an anti-hero, and once I discovered his past, I understood that description, I just don’t agree with it. Now, he refuses to share his work with Cassidy, but only because he didn’t want it leading to her doorstep, so maybe it was him not opening up, but understandably so.  While he did keep a part of his life secret, he didn’t talk about his work or family, I thought the reason he gave Cassidy was fair (this could be my heart and not my brain speaking). For me, Deacon went to the top of the list for the Unfinished Heroes, and I LOVED Creed, so this speaks volumes.

These above precautions enable one cialis active with quick consumption and experiencing of the effects.
This story does not really focus at all on Deacon’s work, which if you read Raid, you understand what he does for a living. It really is the story of love and that love bringing a dark soul into the light. I think this is true for both Deacon and Cassidy, while Deacon was most certainly a dark soul, he was able to bring Cassidy something she had been missing and needed. She just didn’t know she needed it until he gave it.

Let’s get to the nitty gritty good stuff. The sex in this book is A-FUCKING-MAZING!! I sure hope that KA has a sex life that’s out of this world or at least has one planned, because the way she writes her sex scenes, can really give a girl some ideas. She really impressed me with this book though. I won’t give anything away, but I personally was not disappointed, so kudos to you Ms. Ashley.

I so want you to read this book. It was so fantastic. I was very happy with my decision to read the first three books in this series, before enjoying this one. Truth be told, I even re read them, since it had been so long since I read them. Just like the other three books in this series, this book isn’t especially long for a KA book, but worth it all the same. I really hope you enjoy this book and I don’t know if this is the last in this series, it would be fun if the next book was a tie in of all the books and brought all the characters together. Just a fantasy.

Creed (Unfinished Heroes Series Book #2) by Kristen Ashley

Creed (Unfinished Heroes Series)Creed (Unfinished Heroes Series)Synopsis TagCreed (Unfinished Heroes Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Creed (Unfinished Heroes Series, Book #2) by Kristen Ashley

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: If you have read Knight (book #1) prior to this book, then fantastic. If you haven’t, then no worries, it isn’t really necessary. Knight will make appearances in this book, but not to the degree that it will confuse you if you haven’t read his story.

Usually in a series (especially a KA one), the formula is about the same in all of the books in that series. That is not the case here. The only things that Knight and Creed (the books, not the men) have in common are some of the same characters. This book was so very different than Knight, it’s strange to even consider them in the same series. Where Knight focused mainly on the relationship between Knight and Anya and wasn’t too dramatic, Creed is packed with tons of intensity. The main focus of this book is of course the relationship of Creed and Sylvie, and it features every dynamic of it, but it also dives into the complications of their jobs and their relationships outside of each other. The journey to get to their HEA is emotionally deep and extreme, but it is worth every “oh my goodness” moment.

The story is mostly told from the POV of Sylvie. It needs to be said that Sylvie is so badass, that this book could have actually been titled “Sylvie”, no joke. The story will start in current time, but flash back (throughout the book) to the beginning of the relationship between Creed and Sylvie (these flashbacks span about 11 years). Sylvie is an independent PI, who sometimes works with Knight (from book #1) and helps out with the protection of the girls in his side business. Something shady is happening and Knight has called in an outside source to investigate. This source is no other than Tucker Creed, the love of Sylvie’s life and the one person who she thinks abandon her 16 years prior. Now the story begins.

Sylvie and Creed meet when she was just 6 and he was 11. Both come from broken homes, but on different sides of the track. Sylvie comes from money, but also from a father who not only doesn’t care about her, but also is physically and verbally abusive to her stepmother (AKA the stepmonster). Creed comes from a home where his father, his hero, has passed away, and his mother is an alcoholic with different men in and out of her life. To escape the yelling and violence at their homes, they both sneak out into the woods, where they meet one another. Years pass, traditions are made, and love is formed. They have a plan to leave Kentucky the day that Sylvie turns 18, but her dad has another plan, and Sylvie believes for 16 years that Creed left her in Kentucky. So needless to say, their first meeting after 16 years, doesn’t go all that well.
So , if you are smoker and you are pleasantly offline.” An abstract expressionist, Mertz has been painting primarily bold, colorful canvases for close to 20 years, but recently found himself http://appalachianmagazine.com/2017/04/27/virginias-mysterious-devil-monkey-sightings/ online viagra soft drawn to creating works that are “meant to soothe, not shock,” he says, “where there is no subject matter to understand, decipher or interpret, no hidden messages or mystery.” According to a variety. Impotence disturbs the love life by making levitra online uk the sex lives of men difficult, unhappy and miserable. 3-Control cholesterol level As well. Men who are heavy online viagra drinkers often face problems in their sex life.
I’m not going to give anything away, because once again, it is a discovery that needs to be made by the reader. I will say, that I enjoyed this book much more than Knight. I think that it is so full of action along with the drama and heartbreak of their past and current relationship, that it just keeps the pages turning. With their relationship spanning so many years, you can feel the authenticity between the two. Creed is more along the lines of the typical KA “Alpha Male Hero” that I’m used to, so like her others, you will fall in love with him. Her supporting characters are well written and developed (not a surprise). Overall, this book is a very good read and I definitely recommend it. Again, I don’t think that you need to read Knight in order to enjoy this book. However, if you want to start the series off right and get somewhat of a backstory, then definitely go in order. Raid (book #3) and Deacon (book #4) are both currently available.
