Incandescent: Knights Rebels MC (Book #1) by River Savage

Incandescent (Knights Rebels MC Series, Book #1)

So, I have to admit that I actually just happened to run across this book while I was browsing Amazon, and I noticed that it was part of Kindle Unlimited (made it free for me), so I thought, “why the hell not?”. I am a huge fan of MC reads, but lately it seems that there are just so many and a lot of them are not well written, so I’ve been taking a break from that genre for a bit, until I read this book. I must say, I was very pleased with this book and I am happy that I get to bring it to your attention.

This book will focus on the relationship between Kadence Turner and Phoenix “Nix” Knight and will be told through both POV’s. I am all for an author writing a book through the vision of both main characters, but I seem to really appreciate it when it happens in a MC read. I don’t know if that’s because there is usually so much going on in these types of books and it’s helpful to be able to get in the mind of the male or if it’s because the male is so Alpha and it makes it so much more hotter to read his POV. Whatever the case, Ms. Savage did a wonderful job writing from Nix’s POV.

The story will kick off 3 years previous. It will open with the house fire that nearly killed Kadence and almost took her spirit with it. She was engaged to Zane, who knew she was in the house when the house caught fire, but left her there to die. From that, you should be able to somewhat understand the issues that are in Kadence’s head. Not to mention the fact that the fire burned 10% of her body, so she was left with a lasting memory of that night.

Fast forward 3 years and Kadence is an elementary school teacher and happens to be the teacher of Zayden (“Z”) who is the son of Nix. When an altercation involving Z occurs in the classroom, Kadence has no choice but to meet with the parents. Enter Nix. To say that upon meeting Nix, her breath stuttered would be an understatement, his presence nearly knocked her off balance.

Nix can’t seem to get Z’s teacher out of his head and when he sees her days later, he is determined to take her to his bed, even if for only one night. But after finally getting her to agree to a date and that date ending with her in his bed, he realizes that once will not be enough. With all of the emotional healing that Kadence has done, getting involved with a student’s parent won’t be good for her head or heart, but she just can’t seem to shake the determination that is Nix Knight.

That should set you up with a pretty good idea of the pull that is between Kadence and Nix. This being a MC read, you have to know that it is not all flowers and romance. Of course, there is a lot of drama and better yet, hot sex. Let’s get to that stuff.

Although a series of studies already excavated the viagra cipla browse around this gene and protein, however, the stem niche is largely ignored. Mental stress, packed work schedule and physical stress and too high or too low body weight are at an increased risk of developing osteoarthritis. order viagra online click that page This herbal pill offers effective cure for excessive precum, spermatorrhea, semen leakage and cipla cialis india wet dreams. Before 1998, men hid away in female viagra uk dark corners if their sexual issues were insignificant. Nix’s ex-wife (Z’s mother), Addison, is as you would expect, a bitch. She is not happy that she is not the one in Nix’s life or bed, and unfortunately, she takes it out on Z. Just when things are getting started for Nix and Kadence, Zane (the ex-husband) comes barreling back into her life. This is actually a very good part in the plot, I didn’t really see this twist coming, which is always a pleasant surprise.

Holly is Kadence’s BFF and really her rock. She is a fan of Nix and Kadence, even when Kadence is unsure herself. There is a lot of tension between Sy (a club member) and Holly, and with the climatic event that will occur, it only thickens. This is good though, because it will set you up for book #2, which is Sy and Holly’s story.

I think that the author did a really good job writing the sex scenes in this book. I mean, c’mon, isn’t that one of the things that we look forward to when we read a book that features a hot Alpha male? What I loved about the sex scenes however, was how sensitive Nix was to Kadence’s insecurities regarding her scars. Of course, he was very dominant in the bedroom (aren’t they all?), but I loved that he knew what to say exactly when she needed to hear it. As far as the actual sex? Don’t worry, it’s pretty sizzling. Good enough to give you some ideas, which really, when I read them I like to wonder whether or not the acts that are being performed are actually feasible in the real world. Good job, Ms. Savage.

The supporting cast was written really well. By the end of the book, you know who the club is and what it represents. I think that when future books are involved, it’s important to begin to introduce those characters in the beginning of the series and Ms. Savage did a good job of putting the roots down for this MC.

All in all, I thought that this was a good MC read. It gave me everything that I like in a MC read and the most important thing: it has me looking forward to future books in this series. So, go ahead and give it a read, it’s worth it.

Going Long (Waiting on the Sidelines, Book #2) by Ginger Scott

Going Long (Waiting on the Sidelines, Book #2)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Hopefully you have read Waiting on the Sidelines BEFORE you decided to tackle this book. If not, please do so, you will not only be confused, but you are going to miss out on the beauty of the story that is Nolan and Reed.

Waiting on the Sidelines ended right as Nolan and Reed were starting college. This book starts two years later. Nolan and Reed are still together, trying to make a long distance relationship work in spite of the odds stacked against them. The great thing about this book is, it is told through both Nolan and Reed’s POV. This book is going to have so many ups and downs, it’s a good thing that we get to go inside of Reed’s head, trust me.

The last book, despite all of the turmoil that Reed and Nolan seemed to be hit with, ended on a pretty high note. This book starts off happy, but now that our favorite couple are more grown, there are more grown-up hardships that they must overcome and watching their life unfold will make you wonder: “Is their love  going to be enough?”

I can give you some idea of how this book is headed without giving away all of the good stuff. One of the main road blocks in the way of their relationship is the fact that Reed is considering entering the NFL draft. You already know that they attend different schools, but Reed still makes the drive to see Nolan every Thursday and Nolan attends his home games, so even though long distance relationships may be difficult, they are making their relationship work. However, Nolan understands that with the draft, Reed could be headed anywhere and she knows that he loves her, but her past insecurities start to rear their ugly head and she starts to question whether or not she is the one for him.

That part of her personality was frustrating. Understandable, but frustrating. I get that he’s this big football star and his star is only going to shine brighter, but I feel that up to this point (in the last two years) he has done nothing but prove his love to Nolan. But I will cut her some slack, because being female we all have that doubt, not matter what we are told.

There’s the potential to spoil a lot of this book, which I cannot do to you, so I am going to try to work my way around what I can. Nolan is still best friends with Sarah and Sienna and what I love about those girls is they will always give it to her straight. Good or bad, they are not sugar coating their feelings and in this book, Nolan needs that from them. Also, Sean and Becky are still together and very happy. I liked Sean a lot in book #1 and I was sad for him when Nolan broke it off, so it was good to see him and Becky come together and stay together. We will get to meet Reed’s brother, Jason, in this one and see the dynamic of the relationship that Reed has with him, but don’t hold your breath, they are the total opposite of one another. What do I mean? Reed is not an asshole, Jason is.

Here’s the thing. This book was hard to read. I do not mean that in a negative manner, so let me explain. Sometimes when books get so emotional and you are feeling everything right there with the main characters you just need a break. That’s what this book did to me. There are going to be some hard parts to read, but I promise, it is worth it.

When this book begins, you can see the change that both Nolan and Reed have gone through. Like I said, Nolan was a little frustrating for me in this one, but I think it was only because you know she is trying to find herself and her place in Reed’s world and she gets so hung up on the what if’s, she has a hard time living for the right now. I LOVE books that are written from both POV’s, but it’s somewhat of a catch 22. While I love getting in the head of both characters, as the reader you are privy to everything, so it’s hard to watch one character struggle because of something that the other character may or may not be aware of. You just want to scream “TALK!”, but then you realize that you are only screaming at an iPad and things get weird.

In my review of Waiting on the Sidelines, I mentioned not getting hung up on the fact that the setting of that book took place in high school, this book is why I mentioned it. This book deals with real adult issues that many couples face (not the NFL draft, but you know what I mean). It is heart wrenching at times and joyous at other times. Get ready because there will be sad tears, but don’t fret, happy tears will follow. Nolan was a surprise for me in this book. She struggles with a lot of happenings in her life and the way she chose to deal with those issues, definitely made her more normal. Not the good/perfect girl she was in the first book. For me, that was refreshing. It was nice to see her not make the right decisions, especially where Reed was concerned. I only say this, because it was that much more rewarding when she started to see things in a more clear manner and stopped letting the unknown mark her way.

This was a journey worth taking. There are characters that I didn’t mention, on purpose, because the discovery of everything this story brings is worth the emotional roller coaster that you will be taken on. This one definitely caused a book hangover (and this was my second time reading it), I was sad to see the end of their story come. The epilogue was fantastic, so that did give me some closure. I will continue to read whatever Ginger Scott puts out, she is that writer for me. Next, I am going to go ahead and tackle the next book in the This is Falling series, so stay tuned for that review. I think that this book is worth the read. I won’t say that this was a quick read, because for me it wasn’t and I’m a fast reader. I just think I needed time to absorb this story more. Good read, highly recommended.

Love and Lists (Chocoholics Series, Book #1) by Tara Sivec

Love and Lists (Chocoholics Series, Book #1)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This is a spinoff of the Chocolate Lovers Series, so it is an independent series, but the same characters that we fell in love with in that first series are back and the kiddos are now all grown up.  If you haven’t read any part of the Chocolate Lovers series, then I must ask, “Why the hell not?” and then say, GO READ IT! Again, it’s not that it is necessary, but you’re going to wish you did. Gavin was a very prominent character in that series, so it helps to know his story better.

Like I said this story will focus on Gavin and Charlotte and will be told through both POV’s. Gavin belongs to Claire and Carter, and Charlotte is the oldest of Liz and Jim. Gavin and Charlotte have known each other forever and have been in love with the other for almost as long. So why not just tell the other how they feel? Well, where is the fun in that? Once again, this book does not disappoint in comedy and is full of the laughs that we have come to love from this gang. There will be lists, fake boyfriends, Viagra, a psycho ex girlfriend, a very disturbing relationship between Tyler and Siri, and more, all in the name of love.

The book kicks off with Gavin trying to find a way to tell Charlotte that he is head over heels in love with her, at the time he is using Google to determine whether or not you can die from a serious case of blue balls. Tyler, the best friend, thinks that Gavin should make a list of the things he can do to show her his love. Tyler is Gavin’s Drew if you know what I mean. So the list they come up with is fantastic. Wouldn’t it have to be? This is how you will be introduced to grown-up Gavin.

There’s not really a whole lot to give away, but I don’t really want to spoil the fun of reading the hilarity that is the book. But there are some things that I can reveal. Gavin is 25 years old and actually works for Seduction and Snacks, which by now is a world wide corporation, so the girls didn’t do too shabby for themselves. He and Tyler have been best friends since freshmen year in college, which is also where Tyler falls in love with Claire, yes, Gavin’s mom. I know it sounds weird, but you should know by now that anything “weird” with this bunch will turn into crazy in a second and will have you laughing out loud. And don’t worry, there is still a lot of input from the original gang in this one.

After consumption, it buy levitra without prescription cute-n-tiny.com started to show effects within a very short span of time and remain effective up to 6 hours of intake.
One of the great and ironic happenings in this story is the sexual clumsiness that both Gavin and Charlotte possess. What’s even greater is the fact that they both seek out Drew and Jenny for advice. But let’s face it, what woman hasn’t used her period as a “shut up the man” method?

I think that it is safe to reveal that they will achieve their HEA, which is really poetic once you think about it. I mean c’mon, Claire and Liz are really tied together now. What I love about this book and all of books in these 2 series if I’m being honest, is that at the heart of the book is a love story. And I’m not only talking about the main characters of the book, I’m talking about all of the relationships that have been built in these series. And I know that I’m sounding like a broken record, because I have said all of this before, but the absolute best thing about reading her books, is the allowed escape. My family may look at me like I have lost my mind, but the way I see, they’re the ones missing out. I’m not real sure how Tara Sivec does it. But, I want her to keep doing whatever it is, because I will read it every time.

Locke (Corps Security Series Book #5) by Harper Sloan

Locke (Corps Security)Locke (Corps Security)Synopsis TagLocke (Corps Security)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Locke (Corps Security Series, Book #5)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: I want to assume that if you have made it to this book, then you have read the previous ones in this series. But, on the off chance that you haven’t, YOU NEED TO. These characters are very intertwined in every book, so to truly fall in love with them, you’re gonna have to just trust and go in order.

This book will tell the story of Maddox and Emmy, finally, right? It seems as if we’ve gotten teased with them from the very beginning. Well, their story is finally here and I must say, it did not go at all like I anticipated. I may have to actually have spoilers in this review, which I hate to do, but I feel is going to be necessary.

As with all of the other books in this series, this story is told through the POV of Emmy and Maddox. I’m just going to dive right in with this story because honestly, I don’t know any better way to get the job done. This was like reading two different books at the same time. The first of which was just weird, I will get to that in a sec. The second was what I wanted with Maddox and Emmy. Let’s just get the weird stuff over with.

SPOILER ALERT AHEAD. . . Now, in the duration of me reading and enjoying this series and even with the small glimpses into Emmy, I would have NEVER expected the past that came with her. Get ready, you may be shocked. Apparently, Emmy was destined to be the Princess of Syn. What is that you ask? Well, it is the strip club owned by her parents. And, it is also the strip club that she was groomed as a child to work at when she became of age, that’s not weird, that’s just plain ole’ creepy. Oh, it gets better. She was also “promised” to Shawn, the next in line to take over the strip club. So, when Emmy turned 21, she fulfilled her responsibility to her parents and started her “legacy” at Syn. She wasn’t too big on the idea of a future with Shawn, but that didn’t deter Shawn at all. He decided to take what he wanted and poor Emmy lost her virginity while being raped by Shawn. This is something that continued until Emmy was rescued by Coop and began her involvement with Corps Security. So, when Emmy takes off after Coop’s murder, where does she go? Well, back to Syn of course, to continue her future as a stripper. She also gets raped again by Shawn. This is where Maddox finds her. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, her parents have NO issues with the fact that there daughter is continuously being raped.

Do you see where my problem is? This is a shit ton of baggage and there was not one bit of foreshadowing in the previous books that would have EVER, let me repeat EVER led me to think that this was the past that Emmy came from. Emmy never appeared to be someone that had this much following her around. Now, I really wouldn’t have had a huge issue with this if it wasn’t for the past of Maddox (I will get to that in a minute). But, when you add the two pasts together, it’s just too much for one book. I could have handled her being a stripper, I even could have handled her being a stripper at her parents strip club, but take that, along with the fact that her parents are ok with her being raped, well that is just too much. You ready for Maddox’s messed up past? Brace yourself.

This book will flashback to Maddox’s past before he became what he believes is damaged and also dig into his relationship with his mom and younger brother. Maddox comes from money, but his delivery into this world came to be because his mother had an affair with a member of her staff. Her husband left her and she of course blames Maddox for this. So, suffice it to say, she loathes Maddox, but adores her other son, Mason. Maddox doesn’t care for his mother or brother and before Maddox became the brooding soul he is, he was actually engaged to Mercedes, who he was in love with and wanted to share his entire life with. But true to form, like all the women who the Corps Security men have a past with, Mercedes is not who Maddox thinks she is. She’s not really crazy, but she is bitch who does a horrible number on Maddox’s heart. So, you read all of this and it’s a lot to take in, but it’s ok because it gives you some sort of understanding into who Maddox is. But then, Maddox has a accident while serving his country and I’ll be damned if his mother doesn’t show up at the hospital, in Germany, in front of the men from Corps Security just to tell him how worthless he is. Ok, so I can take the relationship he had with his mom and brother, and even what his fiance did to him. I think that his military accident is important to the story, so I’m good with that. However, I am not good with his mom showing up to the hospital or the fact that he lost 2 men in the accident and one of the wives of the men, wrote him a letter telling him it was his fault her husband died.

I feel that you can’t put all of these issues on the shoulder of one man, it was too much. I enjoy the fact that in every book there are issues each character deals with. But almost always, it’s balanced out. The issues that Greg and Melissa had, coincided, Dee had some serious baggage, but Beck didn’t, Asher was dealing with so much but Chelcie came from good and was able to transfer that to him. We get to Maddox and Emmy and I was literally like, “what the fuck am I reading?” I guess my biggest issue was the believability of Emmy’s story. If Emmy’s past was good, I would’ve been able to handle everything that came with Maddox, because in EVERY book leading up to this one, we knew something happened to Maddox, just not what, but jeez, give a girl a break. I thought my brain was going to explode.

Keep this solution and all different pharmaceuticals out of the compass of youngsters and far from pets. cheapest sildenafil is popular medicine of curing the erectile dysfunction of all kinds. Small is popular There is an improving requirement for services for cellars among the economically well-off. viagra discount india It improves order generic cialis muscle mass, energy, libido, sperm count and motility can consume this pudding. You are advised to repeat massage http://icks.org/n/data/ijks/1483475739_add_file_3.pdf low cialis cost daily two times. So, that’s the first book. The second book was much better. And by second book, I mean Emmy finally coming back with Maddox and them working on whatever kept them from being together originally. For me, this is the story I wanted. From reading the other books, you know that Maddox wants Emmy, but feels he doesn’t deserve her. Remember the scene in Cooper, where everyone is at Asher and Chelcie’s house and Emmy finally confronts Maddox? Well, that was the wake-up call that Maddox needed. Shawn (creepy stripper dude) does show up again and leaves Emmy very damaged (once you read, you will see how overdone her past is), Maddox rescues her and everything else falls into place.

Obviously they get their HEA and for them two, it is definitely deserving. Emmy is going to help Maddox face his past, so that they can have the future they deserve. He does get his closure in dealing with his past and that was satisfying to read.

For goodness sakes, let’s talk about the sex. I think we all kind of assumed that sex between these two was going to be explosive. Their tension has been building forever, so one could only hope that when they came together (no pun intended), fireworks were going to be set off. Well, Harper Sloan did not disappoint on the sexual front. They first decide to relieve their tension shortly after Maddox rescues her from Syn. There is no shortage of flames during the sex between these two. I’ll just say, she likes to push his buttons and he like to be bossy, it works out for all in the end. I know I’ve said it before, but holy crap, Harper Sloan must have a sex life that is off the charts or an imagination that puts porn to shame, because she knows how to keep your eyes glued to the page and your mind curious with “I wonder if I can pull that off without pulling a muscle?”

All in all, I did enjoy this book, I was just overwhelmed with the amount of “past baggage” that these two carried with them. In the end, to see Maddox and Emmy get what they both deserved was worth reading through all of that crazy. And the good news? The kiddos from this series will be getting their own books and Cohen is up first. So, I cannot wait for that to come out. This is really a great series and one worthy of your time. Enjoy.

Knight (Unfinished Heroes Series Book #1) by Kristen Ashley

Knight (Unfinished Heroes Series, Book #1) by Kristen Ashley

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: The sex scenes in this particular book are not like any that I’ve read in any other KA novel (I haven’t read them all, so I could be wrong). There is a dominant/submissive relationship between Knight and Anya. Now, I don’t know whether or not she depicted the lifestyle correctly, and honestly, I don’t really care. This is a work of fiction and I don’t think that is what she was going for, in my opinion she was going for “hot”, and she achieved that. She wrote it well, but know that in other books, where the submissive may call her dominant “sir”, Anya calls hers “daddy”. I only say this, because I know it weirds some people out and you should know this bit of information going into the story. KA does it well, the sex scenes in this book are pretty steamy.

This isn’t a “typical” KA book and while that my upset some readers, I actually enjoyed it being outside of the “KA box”. I’ve said before that I believe that KA is EXCELLENT at writing the “Alpha Male Hero”. If you need evidence, just reference Max, Tack, Shy, Tate, and now of course, Knight. I also think that KA’s ability to balance out sex scenes in her books is phenomenal. She is able to “dirty” them up in the absolute best of ways, but add the sensuality when needed.

This book is told from the POV of Anya Gage. She is a beautiful, 27 year old nail technician and beauty school student who dreams of one day owning her own spa. Anya was dealt a crap hand at life, her parents were both murdered when she was just 7, and she was sent to live with her alcoholic aunt. As soon as she was of age, she moved out and never looked back (except in her dreams at night). Knight is a 35 year old, very successful business man, with demons of his own. He owns club Slade, with some business on the side (won’t spoil that for you, you will have to discover on your own).

Anya reluctantly attends a party with her BFF Sandrine one night. Thinking that the party is at Nick Sebring’s home (Sandrine’s latest interest), Anya finds out, thanks to a faulty cell phone, that the apartment is actually owned by Nick’s brother, Knight. And so their story begins.

It’s only that one is of course, positive whereas, the other one http://cute-n-tiny.com/tag/chipmunk/ buy generic cialis halts in getting the pleasures and happiness from the first one. Before trying to draw out the differences between Kamagra and other medicines for erections. online viagra order The condition of joint pain can be divided into two types: Shan and partner-related premature ejaculation: the situation, when they change sexual partners will improve, indicating that super viagra online interpersonal conflict plays an important role. While you can get a hard erection by taking an engineered drug, they can have perilous side effects moreover, manufactured medications don’t increment sexual yearning, so you female viagra for sale don’t get a complete sexual affair. Fortunately, there is not much to spoil here. Shy timid girl, who doesn’t recognize all she has to offer someone, meets a very dominant, controlling, beautiful man. He scares her (in a good way, of course) and like all other dominant/submissive books I have read, she is confused that she is turned on at all by his dominant ways. She definitely makes some sexual self discovery in this book and her character traits really help you appreciate who she is. She is determined to earn her way, because of her past and he of course, being very wealthy, would like to nothing more than take care of her.

I said that this book is different than I’m used to with KA. One of the things that KA does SOOOOO well is the development of the supporting characters. You don’t get that as much in this book. You meet Anya’s BFF’s, Vivica and Sandrine, you will also meet Knight’s brother, Nick. But really other than that, other characters are mentioned, but you don’t really meet them, which, is a little disappointing.

While I do think that the dominant/submissive storyline has been done, I thought that KA wrote it well. The chemistry between Knight and Anya is good, and they are lovable characters. And in my opinion, it’s good to read a “non-traditional” KA book. I do recommend this read. This is book #1 in the series. Creed (book #2), Raid (book #3), and Deacon (book #4) are currently all available.

The Gamble (Colorado Mountain Series Book #1) by Kristen Ashley

The Gamble (Colorado Mountain Series, Book #1) by Kristen Ashley | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comThe Gamble (Colorado Mountain Series)Synopsis TagThe Gamble (Colorado Mountain Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
BXTCHES Gotta Warn: The first time I cracked this book open, well, really tapped open on my iPad, was six years ago. I’ve re-read a couple times since, but since I haven’t read the entire Colorado Mountain Series, I decide to re-read once more (it’s now 2020), since is the first book in the series. There are six books total in this series I have read four of the six, hence the re-read. Usually I am a staunch proponent of reading a series in the order in which the books were written,  however, I actually started this series with book #2 and this is a pretty easy series to read out of order, if you so desired. Just know, that as you move through the series, characters in the previous books will make appearances.

The Gamble will be told from the POV of Nina.

Nina arrives in Gnaw Bone, Colorado from England, calling a much needed timeout for life. She’s a lawyer, she’s engaged, but she’s wondering if the life she’s living is the life she wants. . .so, Gnaw Bone and a cabin in the snowy mountains it is. Unfortunately, once Nina arrives at the cabin that she carefully picked and paid for and arrives to while beginning to feel something wonky in her sinuses, she finds a mountain man occupying her timeout and that mountain man happens to be the owner of the timeout getaway, Holden Maxwell (Max). Max is none too happy with the mix up that has put Nina at his doorstep. He tells her she needs to leave, she argues, but eventually does head back down the mountain, only to wind up in a ditch. Max gets her back to his cabin, nurses her back from the flu and then the story begins.

Kristen Ashley writes alpha males. Kristen Ashely writes alpha males really, really well. So armed with that information, you can deduce that once one of her alpha males sets his sites on something or someone that he wants, he is gonna do about whatever it takes to make that happen. In a non stalkery, non creepy way of course. Nina and Max have chemistry. Nina knows it. Max knows it. Hell, everyone in Gnaw Bone knows it. The issue at hand, well there’s a lot of issues at hand, but the main one being the fact that Nina is in fact in Colorado to sort her life out, not to add to it by crawling up a big, badass mountain man as if he were a tree. Max sees it differently and I don’t think it’s gonna take a lot to figure out who wins this battle. The thing about reading any great Kristen Ashley book is not whether or not the H/h will end up together, that doesn’t take a whole lot of figuring out. The great thing about reading Kristen Ashley, is the journey that the H/h go through to end up together. And holy fuck is this ever the journey.

KA has an ability to mix humor with drama and heartbreak. A lot is gonna get unpacked pretty early on, with some luggage left to sort through during the course of the two week timeout. There’s murder and infidelity and break-ups and rape and violence and kidnapping, and a lot of this happens before Nina and Max get any sort of mattress dancing in. Even with all of this going down, she was able to weave in her brand of humor. This book had me going from laughing out loud to fighting back my tears.

Kristen Ashley is superbly gifted at developing her characters, especially her supporting ones. She has this ability to completely have you invested in it all, even if the name is mentioned just one time. With all the emotions and baggage to sort through, there are just as many characters to get to know. You fall in love where you’re supposed to and you hate where it is warranted. Everyone you meet will add another layer and the end she builds a story that you will be thinking about for days.

We can’t fall in love with an alpha male and not talk about the sexual chemistry that is brought to the page. I look for a lot when I’m being judgy about sex scenes in a book and while the chemistry between the two leading the cast is certainly something I need, I also have to have dirty talk and both need to be believable. . .oh don’t worry, it gets brought and it gets brought in a very delicious way.

I realize that this book is somewhat old (2012), however, if you haven’t had the privilege of reading a Kristen Ashley book and a hearty romance novel makes your toes curl, then you need to catch up. She is definitely worth the pages in her book (there are a lot, by the way) and trust me, it is very hard to put down and I predict you will be scurrying to buy the next in the series once you have enjoyed this one.

How We Deal With Gravity

This is the first book that I have read from Ginger Scott (but will not be the last). This book is told from both the h/H POV’s, and as anyone knows, I LOVE it when an author is able to write from the male POV in a masculine manner.

If you are looking for a book that has a lot of steamy and dirty sex scenes, this isn’t the one for you. But, what this book does have, is a lot of emotion: love, loyalty, heartbreak (there will be tears), it pretty much runs the “emotional board”.

I fell in love with not only Mason, but Avery as well. I usually really like the female characters in most books, but a lot of times they will have some sort of character flaw that will drive me crazy! But Avery, you can’t help but fall in love with her and Max. I wanted so badly to jump in the book and just help her, which is totally crazy, but that is how well this book is written. I think a great book can be measured by how well the supporting characters are written and Ms. Scott did not disappoint. I will warn you however, this was not a book I could read straight through. It did require me to take some “emotional breaks” and catch up on a little light hearted reading.

So here’s the quick rundown without spoilers: Mason is back in town after trying and failing to hit it big with his band. He goes to the one place that has always felt like home to him, Dusty’s, the bar he got his start in. Dusty’s is owned by Ray, the only father figure Mason has had in his life and one of the people who believed in him from the very start. Avery is not only a waitress at Dusty’s, but she is also Ray’s daughter. Avery had a big ole’ crush (like, she was madly in love with him) on Mason in high school, but as usual, he didn’t give her the time of day. Avery has a son, Max, who is Autistic. Max’s father bailed when being a father became too much (don’t worry you won’t like him at all and the hate is well deserved). Avery catches Mason’s attention and since Mason is staying with Avery and her dad Ray, the tension between the two of them is going nowhere. That is all I’m going to give, because you need to read this wonderful book to see how it all plays out.

Sometimes you need to read a good book that just pulls you in and lets you get in a good cry, THIS IS THAT BOOK. On a side note, if you have any personal experience with Autism, this book will definitely touch you. Great read!
