Until Friday Night (A Field Party Book Series, Book #1) by Abbi Glines

You know usually when I finish a book, I like to “be with it” for a couple of days before I try to put how I felt about it into words. This is one of those rare occasions that I just finished the book (like today finished) and now it’s time to put it to paper. I must admit however, I was a little skeptical about this book when I noticed it making it’s rounds on social media (prior to release), I just didn’t know if I would connect with it and add that to the fact that I rarely will spend over $6 for a Kindle book and this one was $10.99, which was more than any other format. But, I read the sample to get a feel and I was hooked and found myself clicking the “buy with 1-click” button before I knew it.

This book will be told through both POV’s and trust me, you need for it to be.

Maggie Carleton has lived a life that no one at her age deserves, really no one at any age deserves. Two years prior, she witnesses her father murder her mother and that tragedy has struck her silent. She’s afraid to speak, afraid to relive the nightmare that haunts her nightly, afraid to answer questions, actually, just afraid to hear her voice. After living with her Godmother and not having any success with opening up, her Godmother ships her off to live with her aunt and uncle, which was really a bitch thing to do, but, for the best in the long run. Just to wrap up the individuals she is now living with: Aunt Coralee, Uncle Boone (her mom’s brother), and her cousin Brady, who is the same age as Maggie and also happens to be the star quarterback of the high school football team, and best friends with our male lead, West.

West Ashby has lived in Lawton, Alabama with his mom and dad his whole life. Everything was going to plan. He was ready to live it up his senior year. He had the ladies falling at his feet, he had success on the field, and he had his boys by his side. Football is his life and is something that he shares, proudly, with his dad. So when his dad is diagnosed with advanced cancer, and there are no other options for his treatment, he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do. He has never imagined his future that didn’t include his dad. While this is tearing him up inside, he doesn’t know how to talk about it with his friends.

When Maggie moves in with her extended family, she is forced upon Brady. Her aunt has Brady take Maggie with him when he goes and does the things that teenagers do, like going to a field party. Maggie knows that Brady is way less than thrilled to be her babysitter and even if she didn’t, she knows it once they arrive at the party and he parks her in the dark, out of sight. However, she does catch the eyes of his friends and he then informs them that not only is she mute (his word), but also that she isn’t there 100% mentally, which in my opinion, was a bit cruel to say. However, they all notice her beauty, so Brady makes her off-limits to them all. West attends the party but the only thing on his mind is his dad and the fear that while he’s out partying it up, his dad could easily pass. When he makes the decision to cut out early, he runs into Maggie and in his attempts to be an asshole, he kisses her. Her first kiss. She doesn’t forget it, she only wishes she can when she shows up at school Monday morning and West is making out with his on-again/off-again girlfriend right next to Maggie’s locker.

It isn’t until the field party after the first football game that changes everything. With West having no one he feels that he can just open up to, he figures that Maggie is a safe bet. I should probably point out that even though West has made more than one attempt to be an asshole towards Maggie, she somewhat sees right through it. She recognizes the pain he is hiding, because it’s the same pain that she recognizes in herself. So, when West opens up to her, she feels safe enough to open up to him and speak for the first time in two years. And that is where Until Friday Night really takes off.

The supporting cast here is fabulous, but what do expect when you take on Abbi Glines. She has a way about writing secondary characters that adds layer after layer and really pushes the story to its greatness. The story here is good, but the cast surrounding West and Maggie really bring it to another level. You hate where you’re supposed to hate and fall in love where you’re supposed to fall in love.

There is sex/sexual situations in Until Friday Night, but I am choosing to not discuss it. It’s always a little strange for me to talk about that part of a book when the characters are so young. Just trust that it’s done well and pretty damn accurate.

That’s all I can give you because to say that this book is a journey, doesn’t give it the justice that is deserves, it’s so much more. This book is really a YA book, so some may have issues reading a book that surrounds high school. However, I don’t really think that you can truly put an age on a book like this. I remember high school, vividly. I remember Friday nights (I live in Texas, so just imagine). I remember the camaraderies that were formed. I have great memories from that time in my life and this book played around with them just enough. It’s a wonderful love story that comes about through tragedy, but hey, sometimes those are the strongest. Also, for anyone who has lost a parent to the bitch that is cancer, regardless if you were a teen when it happened or well into adulthood when tragedy struck, you will empathize with West and admire his ability to pull through.

Until Friday Night is about 336 pages. I purchased this book on August 25 and was done reading it by 5 p.m. on August 26. It probably would’ve been sooner if I was able to read in a moving car without the need to vomit everywhere. Abbi Glines will have you captivated from page 1 to page 336, making it almost impossible to put down. I can’t wait to see how the next book in this series turns out. Great Read!

Forever Too Far: A Rosemary Beach Novel (Rosemary Beach Series, Book #3) by Abbi Glines

Forever Too Far: A Rosemary Beach Novel (Rosemary Beach Series, Book #3)

Forever Too Far: A Rosemary Beach NovelForever Too Far: A Rosemary Beach NovelSynopsis TagForever Too Far: A Rosemary Beach NovelBxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: If you haven’t yet read (Fallen Too Far) and (Never Too Far) then stop and read those two books first. This is the final book in this particular story, even though we will visit Rush and Blaire in other Rosemary Beach novels, their story comes to a close with this book. And it would be doing you a disservice if you haven’t yet enjoyed their story from the very beginning, so get on it.

We should probably play a little catch up first. In the first novel (Fallen Too Far) we learn that when she was just 15 years old Blaire lost her twin sister Valerie in a car accident. Shortly after that accident, her father left, leaving her mother and her alone. Blaire’s mother gets cancer and three years later, cancer claims her mother’s life. Not only was Blaire left to care for her mother while she was sick, she was also left to bury her alone. When she reaches out to her father, her father sends her to Rosemary Beach and to the house of Rush Finlay. Their first meeting doesn’t go well, but he gives her a place to stay for a month, giving her a chance to save up some money to get out on her own. Even though he tries to resist, Rush falls for Blaire and Blaire falls for Rush, the obstacle is Nan, Rush’s sister. Calling her a bitch is probably being a little too nice, the hate she has for Blaire is unmatched. Of course, we find out at the end of the book that Nan is the daughter of Abe, Blaire’s father, and that is where the root of Nan’s hate is. Blaire is hurt and decides that she needs to leave and head back to Alabama.

In the second novel (Never Too Far) we find out that Blaire is pregnant with Rush’s child. She finds herself back in Rosemary Beach and after some effort on Rush’s part, she’s back in his arms. Unfortunately, she is continuing to find herself behind Nan where Rush is concerned. She forgives him and by the end of the story, Rush and Blaire are engaged to be married. Nan is in a serious boating accident and while she is in ICU we learn that Abe is not Nan’s father but Kiro (another Slacker Demon) is.

That brings us to the finale. This book will be told through both Rush and Blaire’s POV. This book is going to kick off with a visit from Dean, Rush’s father. He finds himself in Rosemary Beach needing to convince Rush to get to L.A. and get some control over Nan. Nan now knows that Kiro is her father and she is in L.A. to get to know him (I suppose) in her own Nan way. Rush is pretty protective over Blaire and baby so they head to L.A. with him.

While in L.A. we will meet Harlow, Kiro’s other daughter, so you can imagine the way Nan feels about her. Harlow gets her own book, so getting a glimpse of her now is setting us up. L.A turns out to be a disaster for Blaire. Nan is really being difficult, even more so than usual, and because of that, Rush is focused on her rather than Blaire. Without giving too much away, while L.A. is sort of disastrous, it becomes a turning point in their relationship.

As far as Rush and Blaire, this book is really just bringing the whole story together and giving closure the reader really deserves. There’s not too terribly much to give away, although there are a few secrets still left to reveal. The wedding will occur in this book and if you are any type of an emotional person, get ready, because the “pre-wedding” may bring a tear to your eye. Blaire and Rush will also welcome their beautiful baby boy and it won’t happen at the very end of the book, so we will actually get to see them in parental mode, which may make you swoon all over Rush again.

Along with the treatments we robertrobb.com viagra ordination have mentioned, you will find that they are rich in minerals, vitamins and lots of fibre. These two herbal pills offers effective cure for premature ejaculation and viagra prices canada expand the love making time considerably by recommending these effective herbal pills. You can generico levitra on line use these herbal pills without any fear of side effects. We all want to have perfect and buy generic levitra Beautiful Skin. One of the great things about this book is the set-up it gives you for future books. First is Harlow. After her encounter with Grant, it’s no secret that they are the focus of her book. We also meet Della, the love interest of Woods and some things definitely happen in this book surrounding Della and Woods that will lead one to believe that their book is going to be fantastic. Tripp gets brought some in this book. Tripp is the cousin to Jace and even though we haven’t met him yet, he will come into play in a future book.

There are so many things to love about this book, but one of my favorite things was Blaire reconciling her relationship with her father. I think it was easy to hate him leading up to now, but after he speech to Rush in the ICU (where Nan was), my heart started to come around where he was concerned and in this story, he really redeems himself. While I don’t necessarily agree with the way he handled life after the loss of Valerie, hearing his “side” I was able to be a little more compassionate. And knowing how Rush felt about Abe, but him coming around and welcoming him into their family was very satisfying.

Nan makes her return and it isn’t pretty. How she hasn’t been punched in the face, I have no idea. But I will again say, that I love her addition to this series, you have to sometimes have good vs. evil, and she defines evil pretty perfectly. The fact that the reader can truly despise her, tells you how well her character has been written.

My only “issue” with the book is the absence of Georgianna. Even though Rush continues to deny his mother contact, I feel that she still should’ve made somewhat of an unwelcome appearance. I mean Rush gets married and has a baby and there is not one word from his mother. I also still believe that Blaire should’ve made him suffer just a bit more, especially after what happens in L.A., but that’s just a personal preference and I suppose it would go against the whole of Blaire’s personality if she didn’t forgive Rush when she did.

We can talk about the sex here, it was written well, but not as much as the first two books. The best of the sex in this book, for me anyway, comes post baby. But don’t fret, Rush is still as hot and sexy as ever.

Well, this series comes to an end and it ends well, gives closure to a beautiful story, which is all a reader can really ask for. Abbi Glines has really developed such a wonderful series. She is able to layer all of her characters, not just the leading ones, so well that it forces the reader to form an attachment to them, which for me, is bittersweet, because you’re happy that they get the story they deserve, but it’s a little sad saying goodbye to them. But, like I said, we will see Rush and Blaire again, so it’s not goodbye forever.

Never Too Far: A Rosemary Beach Novel (Rosemary Beach Series, Book #2) by Abbi Glines

Never Too Far: A Rosemary Beach Novel (Rosemary Beach Series, Book #2)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This is a continuation of book #1 (Fallen Too Far), not a stand alone. So please do yourself a favor and be sure to dive into that book BEFORE you take on this one. Trust me, you will be glad you did.

First things first, this book will be told through BOTH Rush and Blaire’s POV (YAY!!).

When book #1 ended, Rush had went to Alabama to try and smooth things over with Blaire and they ended up tangled in the sheets together, Blaire’s way of saying goodbye. Even though it killed Rush to leave her there in the hotel room alone, he followed her wishes and went back to Rosemary Beach.

This book is going to pick up with Blaire having to purchase a pregnancy test. I know you may think that I’m giving something away, but I promise it’s revealed very early on the book, so yes, she is pregnant with Rush’s baby. Currently, she is living with Granny Q, Cain’s grandmother. She knows that she can’t stay in Sumit, but she also knows that she can’t go back to Rosemary Beach. Cain does try and convince her to stay in Sumit with him and they can have the happily ever after that Cain has always wanted. Blaire however is ready to get out of that town and start a life of her own. Bethy does show up and tries to convince Blaire to come back to Rosemary Beach and live with her, but Blaire isn’t biting. Interestingly enough it is because of Cain that Blaire winds back up in Rosemary Beach.

Rush is torn to pieces over the loss of Blaire and is taking it out on everyone around him. He refuses to speak to his mother and is very seldom leaving his house. Once he finds out that Blaire is back in Rosemary Beach, he uses that as his opportunity. The only person in Rosemary Beach that knows about the pregnancy is Bethy, well at first anyway. Once Blaire gets her job back at the Country Club, it doesn’t take long for Woods to find out, but both have agreed to keep her secret, even though they don’t necessarily believe that it’s a good idea.

It doesn’t take long for Rush and Blaire to get back together and for Blaire to let Rush in on her secret, which he is thrilled about. Not only is he excited about the baby, but the pregnancy has Blaire ready to tear the clothes off of Rush every time she sees him, so not only does he have Blaire back, but he’s getting it on the regular (well, overtime really) so it’s a win-win for him.

The use of illegal tadalafil 100mg medicines affect the sexual power in men. They stated that eating patterns have a significant role to increase the risk of generic viagra australia amerikabulteni.com erectile dysfunction. In men, this ability to have sex with a partner due to unavailability of healthy erections. cialis super active This book is really just about Rush and Blaire coming back together and trying to figure out a way to balance out being together, mainly it’s the relationship of Rush and Blaire then the relationship of Rush and his family, which is a tough balance to maintain for him. Rush doesn’t really understand the dynamics of having a relationship and even though he may be madly in love with Blaire, it’s not going to come without issues, so suffice it to say, Blaire is a very understanding girlfriend, because there are some things that are going to occur in this book that as the reader you are going to think that maybe Blaire needs to give him a little taste of his own medicine, but being vindictive is not in her make-up, unfortunately.

You’re probably wondering about Nan. She’s back and bitchier than ever. She is going to make it very difficult for Rush by laying on the guilt of choosing Blaire over her. But there will be a couple of times in the book that he certainly chooses Nan. Even though she is the “token” bitch, I really love what her character brings to this series. When you can dislike someone the way she is disliked, then you know that character is written very well.

The supporting characters are back and continue to add to the depth of this series. We will get a little glimpse of Bethy and Jace’s relationship, which is fun to read. But Bethy really shines here as a true friend to Blaire. She says what needs to be said to Rush, which may not always be nice, but it is certainly necessary. In the beginning of the book, we get a little more of Cain, which I must say that I’m glad the author wrote him the way she did, which for me, was not very lovable. I believe he loves Blaire, I just think in his eyes, they were supposed to wind up together without him having to do a lot of work for it. And with Blaire being so forgiving, he always thought she would be there for him when he was ready. So, I’m glad he wasn’t written to conflict the reader over who Blaire should be with, Rush or Cain.

The sex here is hot, but it is pregnancy hormone sex. That being said, it’s written very well, it was kind of nice to see Blaire become somewhat of a sex fiend, it made the scenes much more thrilling, in a sexual way of course. All in all, I enjoyed the sexual scenes in the first book better (even though there is not as many), I wasn’t disappointed with them here.

I’m not sure how you’re going to feel about Rush in this book. He is most definitely more vulnerable here, which adds an interesting facet to his personality, it does make him much more lovable for the reader but, there are also moments where I feel that he takes advantage of Blaire’s kindness. Especially since she goes back to him, with the knowledge that his mom and sister hate her. Not only does she recognize it, but she also knows that she can’t expect him to eliminate his relationship with them, because her of all people know how important family is. I love Rush, but there are going to be moments where you wonder if Blaire should just cut her losses and do everything on her own.

This book is not as good as the first book, but I don’t really think it’s supposed to be. It’s more of a bridge that will link the story together. So while it may not be as great as the first book, it’s still a really good read and a necessary one.

This book is a couple of years old and it’s been a while since I’ve read it, well before now anyways, but it never fails to entertain me. This is a fabulous book and series. If you haven’t yet let your imagination loose on Rosemary Beach, then you are certainly missing out and need to fix it ASAP. This book will be told through the POV of Blaire Wynn, our lovely leading lady.

This book begins finding Blaire outside the mansion of Rush Finlay, the son of rock legend Dean Finlay. It’s only been weeks since she lost her mother to cancer and even though her father walked out on his family five years earlier, he is the only family she has left and the house she finds herself sitting in front of, is the address he gave her. You should probably be aware that there is a web of relationships happening in this story and I will try not to confuse you too terribly much. Her first encounter is with Grant. Grant is Rush’s best friend/ex-stepbrother. All it takes is for Blaire to pull a gun on him for him to be Team Blaire. Oh yes, Blaire is an Alabama girl who knows how to wield a firearm. Grant introduces Blaire to the man of the house and if she was looking to be welcomed with open arms, she was let down pretty quickly.

Rush is not a very big fan of his mother, Georgianna, and detests her current husband, Abe, even more. Abe just so happens to be Blaire’s father. So his initial dislike of Blaire is really Rush just projecting his strong dislike for her father onto her. While he is an asshole from the get go, he does allow her to stay in his house, at least until she can speak to her dad and figure something else out. He may be cordial by letting her stay in his house, but don’t get carried away, he makes her stay in the maids room under the stairs. I forgot to mention that right before Blaire’s father walked out on his family, her identical twin sister Valerie was killed in a car accident. A car that their father was driving. So imagine first losing your other half, then your father leaving, then losing your mother to cancer all before the age 20.

Blaire finds a job pretty quickly at the local Country Club and becomes a hit from the start, especially with Woods, the son of the owner and Blaire’s boss. Tips are great for her, which is good, because she is getting the distinct impression from Rush that she will need to find a place of her own soon. It should go without saying that there is attraction from both Rush and Blaire to one another. Now, since we only get the story through Blaire’s perspective, we don’t necessarily know what Rush is thinking, but it’s pretty easy to figure out. He’s an asshole early on, but it doesn’t last long and his attitude towards Blaire changes pretty quickly. And he is harboring a secret that he feels will turn Blaire away forever, he’s just not willing to let her in on that secret just yet because it isn’t his story to tell.

Here’s the point that I have to tell you about Nan, since she is a huge part of this series. Nan is the half-sister to Rush (they share the same mother) and she is a MAJOR bitch and that may be me being too nice about her. Just to set you up a bit, Rush is very protective of Nan and Nan knows it and uses it to her full advantage. To give a little better understanding: Woods is interested in Blaire, but he knows that she is interested in Rush and that Rush is equally interested in Blaire. Woods warns Blaire about Nan by telling her that if it comes down to Rush having to choose between her and Nan, he will always choose Nan. I can understand sibling love and protectiveness, but Nan takes it way over the top. She goes out of her way to insult Blaire and make her feel inadequate every chance she gets. Even after I discovered the reason behind her hate of Blaire, her behavior was still unacceptable. But her character definitely adds necessary and fantastic drama to this book.

Since the book focuses on the relationship between Rush and Blaire, it’s no big secret that they hook up (I mean, look at the cover). But there are so many facets to this story, that you will constantly be wondering about the “happy ever after” for them. Unlike a lot of leading ladies, there wasn’t much that frustrated me about Blaire. Given her back story, you can’t help but have compassion for her and at least a little understanding for her feelings for Rush, even when you are thinking that she needs to walk away from him. Because on the very next page when he pleads his case, you will be right there with her saying, “give him a chance”.

This book is fantastically written and really tells a wonderful story. The supporting characters in this book really add the layer that takes this book from just being a book you read to being one that you can’t put down. It’s important to jump on their wagon, because many of them are going to get their own books down the road in this series.

The sex in this book is toe-curling. Even though Blaire is a virgin, at least when the book begins, it does not take away from the panty melting sex that is on those pages. Rush alone gives your imagination a show. It’s hot, sexy, passionate, and very well written.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of indulging yourself with a story written by Abbi Glines, well, you’re kinda crazy, but here’s what she does to a series. It’s more than just words on a page, it’s more like scenes, a movie reel that plays as you read. She makes you need the story, because once you start to read it, you have to continue it. She is one of those authors who gives meaning to the “just one more chapter”, there’s no such thing when you are reading one of her stories. This may be my first review on one of her books, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t read just one of her books. Trust me, this is a series you don’t want to miss out on. **There is a cliffhanger and the story continues in Never Too Far.
