The Score (Off-Campus Series, Book #3) by Elle Kennedy

ARC Disclaimer

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: First things first, this is Dean’s story and his love interest is not Sabrina. Get over it, you will be fine with Allie (trust a BXTCH). Now that that is out of the way, let me go ahead and tell you BXTCHES that yes, you probably can read The Score as a stand alone and really enjoy it. As usual, I object to that particular way of enjoying a series. This is a great ensemble cast and while each book focuses on a certain couple, the ensemble is a big part of what makes up each book. That is my rant, it is now over.

The Score will focus on Dean and Allie and be told through both POV’s.

If you were wise and read this series in order, then hopefully you remember Allie. She is Hannah’s (from The Deal) BFF and as of the beginning of this book, the ex-girlfriend of Sean. The problem with the “ex” part is, Allie and Sean have broken up before and always get back together, but this time, Allie knows that the break-up needs to stick and in order for that to happen, she needs to be where Sean can’t find her. Enter Hannah. She is going out of town with Garrett, Logan, and Grace, but has kindly offered up the boys’ place as the retreat that Allie needs. The only people that will be at the house with Allie are Tuck and Dean, and Logan is going to give a warning call to ensure that Allie will be safe at the House of Hockey Hotness.

Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis, the hockey star with the cock that never sleeps. I certainly don’t need to refresh your memory on this one do I? Okay, I will give a wee one. Dean is the resident manwhore, who makes no apologies for where he sticks it or who he sticks it in (and he seems to enjoy doing it everywhere, except his bed). His only rule. . .freshmen are off limits. Something about #clingyness. Imagine his delightful surprise when Allie shows up at his doorstep right while he is about to become the meat in a threesome sandwich.  Well, nothing really seems to faze Dean and while he may be upset that his meat has just been removed from said sandwich, he’s pretty good with rolling with whatever and is about to enjoy a chick flick with Allie. I mean c’mon, threesome vs. chick flick. . .no contest, right? Let me get right to it, after some tequila, lots of it, Allie finds herself waking up naked in Dean’s bed and as you can guess, their bodies became very intimate with one another. No worries, I’m not spoiling anything, the deed happens once you’re about 10% into the book.

Even though Dean is usually a “hit and quit it” type of man, he is having a very difficult time getting Allie out of his head or his fantasies. While Allie did thoroughly enjoy her romp in the sack with Dean, she is not a “friends with benefits” type of girl. She needs the stability of commitment and she also understands what having a sex only relationship with Dean could mean to their mutual friends.

This expands cgmp inside pneumonic vascular smooth muscle cells, bringing about unwinding. viagra in canada Skipping stressfulness or coping the condition with help of meditative practice seem to be a good way to lead a healthy marital relationship, especially discount generic viagra for men with chronic erectile disorder. But scientists can apply better while treating the various disease if can figure out the impact of the enzyme PDE5. levitra discounts Exercise Daily Regular exercise levitra samples free not only restores one’s stamina, but it also adds to the sex life of male beings. Allie is still trying her best to avoid all things Sean, because while she knows it’s best for her and him to remain apart, she also knows that if she gives him the time of day, she will drop quicker than a house of cards. So, she takes Dean’s advise and really tries to live her life a bit more carefree and without following so many rules and soon finds out that she is really enjoying the new Allie.

Surely you’ve read enough of this series to know the formula and realize that Dean and Allie will happen, but the fun of the story is the journey that The Score will take you on and trust this BXTCH when she says that it is certainly a journey you will enjoy.

Your favorites will be returning here and there is just enough to add a wonderful underside to The Score. Not to mention there is a lot with Dean and Allie separately that is not only going to add terrific depth to the book, but also give the reader a lot of understanding into who Dean is. Even though Allie isn’t a constant presence in the previous books, I think you will enjoy who she truly is as Allie and not just as Allie and Dean.

Now to the good stuff. The sex in The Score is phenomenal, almost has me thinking about becoming a fan of ice sports. I think we knew that Dean was going to be spectacular while working over a woman’s body, but I must say that I was really impressed with what Allie brought between the sheets. There’s a bit of everything here: dirty talk, which is always a plus, but dirty talk done well is like having a great soundtrack and this one may be grammy worthy.  The passion that Allie and Dean give is frenzied and out of control. Garrett was good and Logan did his thing well, but they have nothing on Dirty Dean. I gotta say, the first two books certainly laid down a good story for Dean and The Score definitely lived up to that reputation.

I know, I know, there is so much not covered, but covering it would somewhat spoil it for you, and I’m not willing to do that. Just believe in the story telling skills of Elle Kennedy and in the greatness that is The Off-Campus series and you will not be disappointed. The Score offers everything a great book should. It’s funny, it has drama, it’s sexy, it’s funny (I know I already said that, but it bears repeating), it’s gonna make you smile, it might make you a bit sad in some places, did I say funny? On a side note: look at that fuckin’ cover, how could you not want to open that book up?

I think that it’s safe to say as a fan of this series and as a female, that I would be terribly upset if I wasn’t reading Tuck’s story next. The Score is going to end with setting you up perfectly for that story to be told and this BXTCH cannot wait!

The Shortstop by A.M. Madden

Here’s the truth BXTCHES: When I first came across The Shortstop , I was super excited. I read the reviews, I downloaded the sample, then I didn’t buy. Here was my dilemma. I knew once I started this book, a couple of things were going to happen. #1: This book was going to tear at my heart and drag me through some serious agony BEFORE it gave me what I wanted. #2: I knew once I started this book, there was no just “putting it down” (isn’t it crazy when people tell you things like that?), I bought this book on a Tuesday evening, I was finished by around 12:30 midnight (same evening). Sleep, what in the hell is that when you’re cuddled up with a really good read?

The Shortstop will be told through both Annie and Quint’s POV’s.

Annie Weber and Quint Lawson has known one another most of their lives. They grew up next door to each other, their parents are best friends, so it only stood to reason that when the time came, they would fall in love. And they did.

Next to having Annie as his wife, Quint’s only dream in life is to play shortstop in the majors. They are both set to graduate and Quint’s prospects at making his dream come true is looking more and more like a reality. In fact, he just received news that he’s been picked up to play for the minor league team of the Baltimore Orioles. The only thing left to do now, is to make the girl he’s been in love with more years than not, his wife. They are actually headed to Disney to celebrate graduation from college and Quint has the perfect proposal set up. The girl of his dreams has said YES, the job of his dreams is within reach, what in the world could go wrong? **this is not a spoiler, it actually happens in chapter 4, which is about 10% into the book.

Let’s backtrack just a bit. Annie’s BFF is Daphne. She is almost the opposite to what Annie is. She’s more carefree, more spontaneous, can’t really commit to her current boyfriend Billy, which happens to be Quint’s best bud. Billy is in love with Daphne, Daphne isn’t too sure how she feels, she knows she likes him a bunch, just not sure of the “L” word. Daphne and Billy’s problems seem to always involve Annie and Quint in one way or another. Annie is really just trying to play matchmaker, even though Quint insists that she stay out of it and Quint just does what any guy would do, he’s there if Billy needs him, otherwise he keeps out of it. Even though Daphne is Annie’s BFF, she is going to cause problems for Annie and Quint down the road and add to an already broken situation.

Even though Annie is standing by her man and even though she realizes that all of his dreams are coming true, she can’t help but wonder, where she will fit in, what about her dreams. Her dream of being a teacher may have to be put on hold, so Quint can live his. Annie does eventually come to the conclusion that everything that happens is for a reason and her love for Quint is much stronger and bigger than her wanting to teach, so she makes the decision to stand by him, so he can have everything he’s ever wanted.

When Quint gets the call that the Yankees are interested, that’s it, everything he has ever wanted is starting to come into focus. They buy out his contract with the Orioles and before he knows it, he is on the field at Yankee Stadium. He has his girl, he has his dream of playing for the Yankees, everything is right within his grasp, that is until is torn from his hands.
In northern free viagra no prescription India prevalence of obesity stands at 33.4% in urban women and 50% urban women above 35 have unhealthy body shapes. There are a lot of cialis prices chemically produced medicines in the market for repairing the erectile dysfunction. So waste no time and get the viagra delivery canada drug and lose belly fat. The demand for these medicines is increasing viagra canada price irrespective of the side effects.
When Quint get injured, the type of injury that is almost impossible to come back from, his whole world goes dark. Unfortunately, Annie is starting to wonder if baseball was the only thing that made him happy. Quint is beginning to realize that he is not able to be the man that he needs to be for Annie and it would be best for her to walk away. Now, he knows that she isn’t going to take that walk voluntarily, so he becomes the biggest of assholes, in the hopes of pushing her away.

This is where The Shortstop is going to start the agonizing process of ripping your heart out, just to put it back together. The author does a really good job here in making it to where you have some sympathy for Quint, even though you want to BXTCH slap him in the process, and you have a little pride for Annie when she finally stands up for herself and decides not to be anyone’s punching bag anymore, even if it means that Quint can’t be hers. Quint and Annie are going to have to endure a lot of pain and drama, which includes the Daphne situation I mentioned earlier, in order to get to the other side and the conclusion that they are truly each other’s soul mate. This is one of the first times I’ve read a book and was unsure of the outcome. Even though going in I was pretty certain of a HEA, as the end of The Shortstop started coming into focus, I really thought that maybe this author was going throw the reader for a loop and not allow the couple to get their fairy tale. I also must say, that the baseball storyline didn’t play out as I thought it would. This isn’t a good thing or a bad thing, it was just my own prediction didn’t come to fruition.

The Shortstop has a terrific secondary cast of characters. There isn’t a lot of them, but they pack a very powerful punch. Dare I say it? You may cuss me out after I proclaim this next statement, but here goes. . .even after what Daphne puts them through (which I’m sure you can guess), I kind of felt bad for her. Usually in that type of storyline, I’m all about calling a bitch a bitch, but in this case, my heart hurt for her. Although, I do think with the Daphne and Billy storyline, she was a bitch, though we find out why later in the book. The Shortstop was that book that needed these characters to really tie together the whole story. I don’t say that because I think that something is lacking here, I say it because that’s how in depth this book is.

Is there lots of sex here? Yes. What did I think about it? Well, I thought is was well written and I thought that some of it was steamy enough, I just didn’t get all crazy about it. The author said the right things and made both Quint and Annie sexy enough for the scenes, it just felt like a panty-ripping element was missing. That’s just my opinion, you may read it and feel the need to drop your jaw and curl your toes, more power to you girl.

All in all, The Shortstop was a fantastic book. I happen to love agonizing, tortuous books like this. Usually it takes me more than a minute to finish the book, I think I was so quick here because I was holding onto it for such a long time, that when the time came to actually read it, it was impossible to put down. It takes some talent to write a character that you know at some point during the book, the reader is going to have contempt for, but then be able to turn around and really force the reader to open up their hearts and find love for them. That’s what happens here with Quint, you will realize very quickly that there is a really thin line between love and hate and the definition isn’t always so crystal clear.

The Mistake (Off-Campus Series, Book #2) by Elle Kennedy

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Part of me wants to tell you that it’s not necessary for you to read the first book in this series (The Deal) before you dive into The Mistake. Because I do think you can skip right over it and still really enjoy this book. The other part of me wants to warn you and tell you that in order for you to really get into Logan’s head and understand him, you need to first read The Deal. While it tells the story of Hannah and Garrett, their relationship is f**ing with Logan a bit and for the story to come full circle, you should fall in love with Hannah and Garrett before you begin your affair with Logan and Grace. So, I’m gonna leave this one up to you.

The Mistake will be told through the POV’s of both Logan and Grace.

Let’s start with Logan. He is having a very difficult time coming to terms with Garrett’s relationship with Hannah. Truth is, he really believes he is/has fallen for Hannah, which makes him feel like a total dick because Garrett is his best friend. So in order to “get over her” he decides hopping into bed with whoever the next willing female is, will do the trick. Just because Garrett hasn’t caught onto Logan’s feelings towards his girl, doesn’t necessarily mean that the other guys living in the house hasn’t noticed it.

Grace is a freshman at Briar and is rooming with her lifelong BFF, Ramona. One of her “freshman goals” was to live a little, which is proving itself to be somewhat difficult and to meet new girlfriends, but the only ones that she met are courtesy of Ramona. Ramona is a outgoing and doesn’t really show too much restraint in life. She also loves to party. Grace on the other hand, is the complete opposite, but they tend to balance one another out.

Looking for a party one night is what finds Logan knocking on Grace’s door. Obviously in the wrong place, Grace invites him in. Watching Die Hard 2 leads to a make out session which leads to Logan finishing, but Grace not. She lies about her lack of a climax and Logan heads out, leaving things extremely awkward. Leaving any female less than satisfied irritates Logan to the point of him once again knocking on Grace’s door and insisting that he finish the job. I should point out that Grace is still a card carrying member of the V-Club, so the orgasm is given via oral skills. At this point, things happen, they both find themselves longing to see one another, but Logan believes that it is just because he is using Grace to get over Hannah, a fact that he shares with her the night she is more than willing to turn in that V-Card. Don’t worry, I’m not spoiling anything here, the book is called The Mistake, now you know why.

Just a couple of tidbits of information: Grace’s parents are divorced, but friends. Her mom lives in Paris, her dad is a professor at Briar. After “The Mistake”, she finds herself spending the summer with her very free spirited mom in Paris. Logan’s familial situation is a tad stickier. His dad is an alcoholic who owns a auto repair shop, that his older brother is currently running. Now, there is certainly more to Logan’s story than just that and I would love to indulge you, but since it’s a very tragic story, you’re gonna have to read that for yourself.

As you can imagine, being told that a really gorgeous guy was just using you in the hopes of getting over “his true love”, would do a number on your self esteem. As Grace enters her sophomore year, Logan is now convinced that she is the one for him and will stop at nothing to prove it. And trust when I say, stop at nothing.
Just remember that there is no one pill that can give enormous health benefits like more intense orgasm, enhanced sex libido and sex desire and lead to stronger and link cialis for sale canada harder erection every time. Key ingredients in Kamdeepak capsule include Sanvari, Pichila, Punarnwa, Shothdhni, Snadika, Swetmula, Gandhak Sudh, Mochras, Bheema, Semal Musli, Gauri Beej, Godaipurna, Keethdhna, Shimulair, Picha, Raktpushpa, tadalafil pharmacy Khathen and Vishdhni. When you find sildenafil sales a good site, you canlook forward to picking from generally thousands of medicines. That’s why it’s important to visit the doctor levitra prices as you face the impotence problem because he would be deciding whether it is caused by the physical problem or by mental imbalance.
Here’s what I love about this book. First, Elle Kennedy really knows how to write well from the male perspective. And I’m not just referring to Logan. He is a hockey player who lives in a house with other hockey players and anytime in the book that the scenes revolve around those guys, it is brilliant. I loved, loved, loved, Grace in this book. She comes across as somewhat as a pushover, but she is anything but that. She is super funny, especially when she babbles, she is witty, and she is fierce when she stands up for herself.

Let’s talk about the supporting cast in The Mistake. Fabulously written. The relationships that are developed in this story makes it easy to fall in love with this book. Even when Logan was being somewhat dickish, you love him. There’s an incident that happens between Ramona and Grace and you will really not be a huge fan of Ramona during this time, but that’s the beauty of the writing. She is able to make you love, well love may be a strong word, Ramona in one scene, but make you want to claw out her eyes in the next. The guys in the house definitely provide some comic relief for Logan when he needs it and while we don’t get a ton from Hannah and Garrett, we do get enough to scratch our itch.

Elle Kennedy does a great job writing the sexual tension between Grace and Logan. It doesn’t take Dr. Ruth to figure out that Grace is going to eventually give up the stuff to Logan and even though I don’t really like discussing the sex between characters that are so so young, it is written well. Logan and Grace certainly have sexual chemistry and exploit it every chance they get.

Dean’s story gets told next and I for one, cannot wait. This book does not leave us with a cliffhanger and does give some closure in the epilogue. Start this series, you will not be disappointed.

Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers Series Book #1) by Tara Sivec

Chocolate Lovers Series Book 1Seduction and SnacksSynopsis TagSeduction and SnacksBxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers Series, Book #1)

So, I’m sitting  here (at 1:09 am) trying to come up with the best way for me to write this review. Usually words don’t escape me so much, but I am definitely tongue tied on this one. So, I’m just gonna go and see what fine words fly through my fingertips. Let me start by saying, this book is fucking hilarious. I’m not talking a chuckle here or a giggle there, if you are reading this book and are not actually laughing out loud, while discovering that this is in fact how friendships should be and how you should actually raise your kids, well shit, you may want to stop right there, because I’m not sure if this is the book for you.

This book features a lot of characters, but mainly focuses on Claire Morgan and Carter Ellis. The book is told through both POV’s and kicks off with Claire in college losing her treasured V card. Well, it’s more of a flashback to college. Liz is Claire’s BFF and is convinced that Claire needs to rid herself of her virginity and believes that a frat party is the best place to find her a prospect. Well,  she finds herself one alright, in the form of Carter Ellis. After bonding over beer pong and the movie “Heathers”, they decide to take the party upstairs and get down with the mission at hand. The problem: Carter has no idea that Claire is a virgin and Claire is really treating this as more of a necessity than pleasure and hightails it out of there the next morning without one name being exchanged. Weeks later, Claire finds herself pregnant and this revelation sends her packing back home to Butler, OH, with no college degree and no baby daddy.

Fast forward almost 5 years and Claire is the single mother to Gavin. I don’t think that there are enough adjectives to describe how fantastic Gavin is. He is a mouthy, funny, nut-punching 4 year old who holds his own with the grown-ups in this book. Over the years, Claire has thought about the night that gave her Gavin, but she pretty much knows that there is no way she will ever run into Carter again, she didn’t even get his name, for crying out loud. So, until she has the time and financial abilities to fulfill her dream of owning her own business with Liz, she is content working as a bartender in the local bar, playing games of P.O.R.N. with her co-workers and helping Liz out by selling her sex toys on the side. This of course is, until the night that Carter Ellis walks into the same bar.

Carter and his best friend Drew move to Butler, OH, relocating for work. Carter has given much thought to that night 5 years ago, but like Claire, has given up hope in ever finding out who the mystery girl was. In fact, he was in a long term relationship that he broke off prior to moving to Butler. She cheated on him, which turns out to be a really funny scene in the book, but he realized he was with her to try and forget about Claire, or as he remembers her, the girl who smells like chocolate. On one of his first nights in Butler, he finds himself drowning his sorrows in a shit ton of liquor when he sees Claire again for the first time.

Obviously, we knew they were going to run into each other again, the funny part is as much as he has pined for her over the last 5 years, he doesn’t even recognize her when he first sees her. She of course knows who he is right off of the bat, she does have his kid. Like I said, Carter and Drew relocate for their job at an auto plant, which so happens to be the same plant that Jim, Liz’s fiance works at. One story leads to another and Jim figures out who exactly Carter is and invites him and Drew over for dinner. Enter Claire, who just finished up at a sex toy party and walks into Jim and Liz’s house going on and on about vibrators and her inexperience (it’s actually very funny) none the wiser to who is sitting there listening. Carter does get around to asking Claire out on a date and not to ruin the story or anything, but Carter does eventually figure out who Claire is and discovers that he is the father of one foul mouthed 4 year old. He takes it all very well and one big happy family is born.

There are 24 million people whose earnings are less than 100,000. order viagra without prescription Healthy diet plays an important role in causing male impotence. generic cialis prescriptions If you’re hopeful that your will be more confident with your body and have better endurance which may lead to more fulfillment in achat viagra pfizer the bedroom. Claire and Liz’s dream of owning a business together becomes a reality and Seductions and Snacks is born. Claire sells the goodies (food goodies that is) and Liz sells the toys for the “goodies”. All kidding aside, it is actually a brilliant idea.

I can’t really spoil anything here, but I want to tell you to READ THIS DAMN BOOK. Tara Sivec did such an outstanding job writing this story and while the focus is on Carter and Claire, there is a ton of attention paid to the other characters in this book as well. It was a very difficult book to put down, and so I could write the review correctly, I reread the book, which makes it a total of 4 times read and I still couldn’t put it down. Fantastic read, fantastic series. You will not be disappointed. And somehow, I suspect when you’ve put this book down, you are gonna do some Google searches trying to find some of Drew’s t-shirts.

How We Deal With Gravity by Ginger Scott

How We Deal With Gravity

This is the first book that I have read from Ginger Scott (but will not be the last). This book is told from both the h/H POV’s, and as anyone knows, I LOVE it when an author is able to write from the male POV in a masculine manner.

If you are looking for a book that has a lot of steamy and dirty sex scenes, this isn’t the one for you. But, what this book does have, is a lot of emotion: love, loyalty, heartbreak (there will be tears), it pretty much runs the “emotional board”.

I fell in love with not only Mason, but Avery as well. I usually really like the female characters in most books, but a lot of times they will have some sort of character flaw that will drive me crazy! But Avery, you can’t help but fall in love with her and Max. I wanted so badly to jump in the book and just help her, which is totally crazy, but that is how well this book is written. I think a great book can be measured by how well the supporting characters are written and Ms. Scott did not disappoint. I will warn you however, this was not a book I could read straight through. It did require me to take some “emotional breaks” and catch up on a little light hearted reading.

So here’s the quick rundown without spoilers: Mason is back in town after trying and failing to hit it big with his band. He goes to the one place that has always felt like home to him, Dusty’s, the bar he got his start in. Dusty’s is owned by Ray, the only father figure Mason has had in his life and one of the people who believed in him from the very start. Avery is not only a waitress at Dusty’s, but she is also Ray’s daughter. Avery had a big ole’ crush (like, she was madly in love with him) on Mason in high school, but as usual, he didn’t give her the time of day. Avery has a son, Max, who is Autistic. Max’s father bailed when being a father became too much (don’t worry you won’t like him at all and the hate is well deserved). Avery catches Mason’s attention and since Mason is staying with Avery and her dad Ray, the tension between the two of them is going nowhere. That is all I’m going to give, because you need to read this wonderful book to see how it all plays out.

Sometimes you need to read a good book that just pulls you in and lets you get in a good cry, THIS IS THAT BOOK. On a side note, if you have any personal experience with Autism, this book will definitely touch you. Great read!
