Fighting to Forget (The Fighting Series, Book #3)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: I’m sure if you are looking to read this book, then you have already enjoyed the first two. While I’m not too sure that it is totally necessary that you read the first two books before this one, I do think it will help you enjoy this series as a whole. These stories will start inter-twining and while it won’t be hard to follow along without reading them in order, it will take away from the depth of the story, which isn’t fair to the author. Anyways, it’s just a tip.

I think that the first two books were fantastic, still do. But this book tugged at emotions in me that the other two were not able to get to. I loved Raven and Jonah’s story and while it was somewhat tragic, it was only in parts. Even with Blake and Layla, she was really trying to distance herself from that of her former life and Blake was helping with that. I do think that some of their story was emotional but for me, Blake was the balance that the relationship needed so it wasn’t too heavy. You do not get that in this book. In fact, I had to periodically put it down, because it was hard to witness the raw emotion, especially from Rex. So, while this book isn’t a lot like the first two, it is a very good read.

This story will be told from both Mac’s and Rex’s POV. If there is ever a story where this is important, it is this one. We have met both Mac and Rex in book #2. Mac is the waitress at The Blackout, the bar that the band Axatia frequently performs at and the one who befriended Layla when she was new in town. If you remember, Rex is the lead singer for the band and to further spark your memory, it’s the same band that Blake performed in for Layla. I will go ahead and tell you that there will be some shocks and twists in this book, none of which I will give away. I will reveal what I can, without ruining the story for you. You ready?

Georgia McIntyre (Mac) has moved to Las Vegas for only one reason, Rex. Mac’s parents were the foster parents to Rex. They kept him locked in the basement and he was subjected to severe abuse, Mac was his light. They only ever communicated from under the basement door, but her “light” and presence is what has got him through some very tough times.

The unfortunate part is the past is constantly affecting Rex’s present. He’s a fighter for the UFL and welcomes the pain almost like one would welcome a hug or kiss from someone they cared about. Sex is not something he craves or wants, but something he will only do if it is needed. The problem is, he knows he has certain issues and he realizes that they stem from his past. What he doesn’t know is what happened in that basement when he was a small child to cause him to become the adult he is. The one person who does know: Mac.

There may be more heat and high blood flow in the testes, which causes problem with number and quality of sperms. cialis cheap uk pharmacy levitra The pharmaceutical is then given a brand name by its maker. According to most medical experts, symptoms prostrate are one viagra 100mg generika of the most difficult signs to notice in an individual. However, these side effects do not necessarily occur to online cialis pills everyone who dwells on it. Mac has loved Rex since she was a girl. The sole reason for her being in Las Vegas is to confront Rex and apologize for the things that happened to him as a child, she feels somewhat responsible. Once she realizes how deep his wounds run, she vows to help him put the pieces of his past back together, but going into detail about his past is something that Rex does not do, so getting close to him is going to be a very tough obstacle for Mac to face. Now, they do start a relationship and Rex begins to open up to Mac, but what happens when Rex finds out the secret that Mac has been keeping from him?

This book is going to take you for a ride. Usually when characters in books are keeping some sort of a secret that is going to define the future of the relationship, I’m the one screaming “Just say it!” and I get frustrated at the character waiting to tell the secret. In this case, I understood the why in this case. It couldn’t have been easy for Mac to harbor that secret for so many years. I felt so much sorrow for Rex, you could feel that his past was going to be very difficult him to overcome, especially because he only talked about it with his therapist. Nobody else knew of the demons he faced every day. But I felt equally compassionate towards Mac. To carry the guilt of a sin you had not control over for so many years is going to fuck you up and you see that page after page in this book.

Like I said, I don’t want to give too much away, but at some point Mac decides she needs to get away from Vegas. This is my only negative with the story. Not so much of her getting away, that I understood. However, I didn’t like where the author sent her. I think that the same outcome could have happened by sending her anywhere else. And, I don’t think that the personal route that Mac chose while away was necessary. I understand demons, I understand it being hard to escape those demons, it was just hard for me to read Mac during that time. It came together in the end, so eventually it worked, I just didn’t like the journey.

JB Salsbury really has written a very emotional, heartfelt series. As I read each book, I appreciate the series more and more. I have finished book #4 and was NOT AT ALL disappointed, it was fantastic. Blake is still my favorite, but I have a soft spot for Rex. I think he was beautifully written and while he had so much to overcome, he never let it defeat him, which is the hardest thing to do, right? Read this book, read this series, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Just be prepared to be swept up in some serious emotional shit.

Fighting To Forgive (The Fighting Series Book #2) by JB Salsbury

Fighting to Forgive (Fighting Series, Book #2)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This is book #2 in The Fighting Series and it follows Blake and Layla. You should remember Blake from Fighting to Forget. If you adored Blake in book #1 (which, how could you not), you will fall madly in love with him in this book. Should you read the first book BEFORE this one? YES. There shouldn’t be an explanation needed to why you should go in order, but this is a long series and with so many references to in this series to the other books, just do yourself a favor and go in order. Plus, if the author wanted you to read this book first, then she probably would’ve released it first, so there you go.

This book is told from both Layla and Blake’s POV. I am not an author (obviously), but I can only imagine the challenge that authors face when they make the decision to write their book from the perspective of both the H and h. Once again, Ms. Salsbury is able to accomplish this amazingly. I always feel that when the reader is able to really get into the head of both of the main characters it really makes the story that much richer, especially if the author does it well. So hang on, because this book is phenomenal and is going to take your emotions on one helluva ride.

Layla is new to Las Vegas, transplanted from Seattle. She has moved with her 16 year old daughter, Axelle (Elle) Rose (fantastic name, right?). I’m sure you remember in book #1, when Blake laid down his law for not getting involved with women who come with baggage, i.e. a kid. Well, Layla not only comes with her kid, but enough baggage to fill several 747’s. I’m going to give you the rundown, but I am really going to try and not spoil a whole lot for you, because to say you need to take the journey on your own, is an understatement. Layla got pregnant with Elle when she was just 16 and her parents forced her into marrying Elle’s father, Stew. The marriage was full of abuse (of all kinds), so when the opportunity comes, she leaves. She lands a job working at the UFL training center and that is where she first meets Blake.

I really loved Blake in the first book. Even though he was somewhat of a man whore, he was super lovable and really funny (great combination). This book will lead you into Blake’s demons, which after you discover them, your heart will open even more for him. Of course, Blake doesn’t really understand what it is he is feeling towards Layla. While he may say he doesn’t get involved with moms, after he meets Elle, you can see his tight reign on his “rules” start to loosen. On a side note, do you remember Killian from book #1? Here’s a refresher, he was the kid at the airport that Jonah meets while waiting to pick up Jonah’s mom. He becomes fast friends with Elle in this book, so I hope I’m seeing a Elle/Killian book in the future (fingers crossed).

Perineal pressure due to excessive cycling is the reason behind all sex problems which is usually buy pfizer viagra thought about this insufficient blood flow to the penis resulting in an erection. The drama that is loaded in this book, does not disappoint. From Layla’s own demons that causes her times to be what some would call “crazy”, but it’s easy to understand where her head is at. Because of Blake’s past, it is very difficult for him to see that Layla’s intentions are pure and that causes his own internal battle. I will spoil this (not really a spoil), it is worth reading about the demons they face, just to witness the ending they get.

Here is what I LOVED about this book. First, I love that she is older than him. Call me want you want, but that sh*t is hot. The sex scenes in this book rock. She did a fabulous job with really taking your imagination where it needed to be during EVERY sex scene. One of the back stories in this book, is music, and the main focus of that music is rock n’ roll, and I shouldn’t have to say anything further. In my opinion, Ms. Salsbury’s ability to develop the supporting characters is magnificent (I’m running out of verbs to describe how amazing this book is). Jonah and Raven are in this book, and there is actually some attention paid to them, they’re not just a blip on a page. Eve also makes an appearance, and I really like her, so I am ecstatic that she is getting her own book (#4). The other characters aren’t mentioned a whole lot, but you do get a feel for who they are.

All in all, fantastic read, very well done and I cannot wait to continue this series.

Fighting For Flight (The Fighting Series Book #1) by JB Salsbury

Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Synopsis TagFighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series, Book #1)

This story follows the relationship between Raven Moretti and Jonah Slade. The book begins with the birth of Raven. She is the daughter of a prostitute (Milena) and a very well known pimp (Dominick Moretti). Once Raven is born, Dominick informs Milena that she can raise Raven, but when the time comes, she (Raven) will have to work for him. Raven leaves home once she turns 18, she’s a mechanic who works for Guy, who owns the garage where she works.

The story is told from both Jonah’s and Raven’s POV. I really love it when books are told through both the H/h POV. And if an author can really nail the male dialogue, that’s so much better. I think for a book like this particular one, it’s important to understand where both characters are at, mentally. Ms. Salsbury really does a great job at keeping you in the loop with both of them. There is never really any question about where either Raven or Jonah are at during any point in their relationship and that helps with the flow of the story.

Jonah is a hotshot UFL fighter who never offers himself up to the same girl twice. However, he has a car that needs to be restored and heads to Guy’s garage to meet with Ray. He never expected to be knocked on his a** by a mechanic, but that is in fact what happens. After working together in close quarters (his garage) for a while, they can longer deny the chemistry that is pulling them towards one another. Jonah finds himself feeling things towards Raven that he has only really felt towards his mother and sister (not in a creepy way) and Raven finds herself reacting to him in ways that has never happened to her body (she’s a virgin).

On a quick sidenote: I think that it is HOT, that Ms. Salsbury made Raven a hot little mechanic. I love that she can do a man’s job with the sex appeal of a Playboy Bunny. Even better is, she’s not ashamed of what she does at all. Not that she should be, but she doesn’t allow the opinion of others to effect how she feels about her profession. She knows she’s the best and she is not afraid to flaunt it. So fantastic.
sildenafil overnight shipping When this disorder occurs in your life then it s better that you go for best sex pills for men. Why it is so? Let’s have a look at the major reasons order generic levitra deeprootsmag.org to use this drug: Kamagra Jelly 100mg – Convenient to Use The sildenafil jelly version has ensured a great way to improve the erection health. A variety of studies carried out across US and people should be careful about using them for their patriotism and love for their levitra professional online nation, while Memorial Day is praised to remember everybody who kicked the bucket while giving services. Believe me women like men who are love dominate, last long and have powerful erections, which most women levitra canada pharmacy like during those steamy sessions.
I won’t give anything too juicy away, but here’s what I will tell you. Raven’s dickhead father, Dominick, comes back around making demands, that will force Jonah and Raven into the fight of their young lives. It will put their beliefs in check and their love to the ultimate test.

There really isn’t too much as far as supporting characters go. They are there. Raven’s BFF, Eve, is a little needy, but she is good for Raven. The only complaint I have is, while she plays a pivotal role in the plot in the middle of the story, she kinda flickers out towards the end, she’s there, just not as much as you think someone’s BFF should be. Blake is Jonah’s best friend. He is fantastic. Everything about his character is smooth. He is funny as all get out, he is good with the ladies and you can feel the love he has for Raven and Jonah. Blake’s character development is very thorough, this could be because book #2 will focus on him.

Everything about this book is great. It moves very well, without fluff to fill the “in betweens”. Raven is a very lovable heroine. She is funny, her inner dialogue is fantastic. It’s always intriguing for me when an author must transform a virgin with no sexual experience, into a horny little vixen. Sometimes when it happens, it isn’t very believable, but here, it’s done well. As for the sex in this book, it’s hot. Not scorching hot, but still pretty flame worthy. All in all, a very good read. Book #2, Fighting to Forgive, is currently available and will focus on the story of Blake and Layla.
