BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Revel is the brother of Landon, who was the hottie featured in Blindsided (review here) and I cannot believe I am about to say this. . .BUT. . .you don’t need to read Blindsided in order for you to enjoy Revel. In fact, the only mention of Landon in this book is during conversation. Now, I can admit that I am someone who judges my books by the covers, at least initially, but if ever there were a cover that told the story of character, it is this one and trust a BXTCH when I tell you that it’s to a T.

Revel will be told through the POV’s of both Taylan and Revel.

Even though it’s not necessary for you to read Blindsided (however, you totally should), that story does cover some basics, though some are briefly covered within this book. For example, Revel’s parents died when he was young and his grandmother (Oma) raised him and his siblings. His sister Jenna (Landon’s twin) passed young and his older brother Grant and Grant’s wife have also passed away, leaving their five children to Landon (which is the centerpiece of his story).

I’m not sure if you took the time to read the blurb, but in case you didn’t here you go. . .Revel Slade is the frontman of the band Revved. . .Taylan Ash is a pop princess who was born into the life. I’m sure you can guess at how well her and Revel get along, which is to say not at all. And just to put the pieces of the puzzle together for you. . .Taylan is the daughter of Jory, who is the CEO of Ash records. . .Hensley (also an artist) is the ex-girlfriend of Revel who fucked Jory, which is why she’s an ex. Don’t worry I’m not spoiling anything you wouldn’t have found out after the first couple of pages. And we can’t forget about Breckin, who is Taylan’s ex. Guess who’s all going on tour together? That’s right. . .Revved, Taylan, Hensley, and Breckin. . .along with some others who aren’t really spotlighted. This is some six degrees of separation shit. Not only are different genres coming together, but Revel and Taylan have a past that does not scream friends, hell it doesn’t even scream “Remember that one time I said ‘hi’ as I walked past you?”, so surely you can imagine how smoothly this tour will go.

Because of her past run-ins with Revel, some of those that surround Taylan. . .more specifically her dad and Breckin. . .are really trying to convince her to back out of the tour, which just adds more fuel to her already growing need for independence, individuality, and a crazy urgency to break free from the Princess of Pop title that has her shackled in chains that she is dying to burst out of. Which is why she is doing this tour. . .for herself.

The struggle for Taylan is real. She epitomizes what it means to be a people pleaser. She’s not 100% sure her dad actually cheated and she’s not in a place where she really wants to know, which is a conflict for her. She has a love/hate thing for Revel, she loves to look at him (who wouldn’t), she loves to watch him perform, but she hates who he is as a person. . .until she doesn’t.

Revel is everything you would expect from a tormented rock star. He lives the life on and off the stage and makes no apologies for his choices. But like any tortured soul, the darkness is what surrounds him and it takes rock bottom for the light to shine through.

One would think that the heart of this story takes place during the tour and while a good part of it does, after the tour is also important. So, I guess what I could/should say is that the guts of the book takes place during the tour, while the heart of the book is the after.
Where to buy male enhancement pills? There are several sources from where you can buy discount pharmacy viagra these herbal remedies from reliable online stores. Shey Stahl does a wonderful job of focusing the spotlight on Revel and Taylan while allowing the supporting characters to shine through in a way that doesn’t take away from the ones telling the story and still adds the necessary layers of depth. She was able to give us a supporting cast that brought lightness to a story that got pretty heavy at times. She has the ability to develop characters so well, that she’ll leave you wondering when you’ll get sink into ‘their’ particular story.

We know that our rockstar is tortured, we know that his soul is a bit dark, we also know that he is smoking hot (that’s me judging the cover), but taking his profession into consideration. . .the hotness is kinda given, so it should be expected that his skills in the bedroom, backstage, under the stage, the tour bus. . .I’m sure you get it. . .are on par with the skills that he displays on stage and you wouldn’t be wrong. However, let’s not talk about the sex, let’s talk about the tension. It is so thick between Taylan and Revel, that even I was ready to pop. Revel kicks it off a little crass, but it doesn’t take long for things to get good and dirty, which is how this BXTCH prefers things and I’m not gonna spoil things, but know this. . .when you get to the portion of the programming where they finally do fuck, you may wanna have a pen and paper handy, because taking some notes might help us all a bit.

I will give you BXTCHES one more warning about Revel, well maybe a couple more. I didn’t one click it immediately, I knew once I began, it was gonna be damn near impossible to stop and it was, so you should know that going in. Also, this isn’t a girl meets boy, boy sweeps girl off her feet and they fall in love where they live happily ever after. This story requires them to step in and through some shit to make it to the other side. Not only are there a lot of topics in play with Revel. . .there’s addiction and cheating and scandals and discovery, but there will be a lot of emotions in play as well. . .it’s funny, it’s angsty, it’s heartbreaking, it’s gonna piss you off, it’s love. . .just be ready to sweep through the gamut of them all.

I’ve gone over this before, but Shade is the story that introduced me to Shey Stahl and while I can get captivated quite easy while reading a book, there was something about that particular book that hooked me. It was every element of the story. . .from the character development to the storyline to the way she presented the story. It had me craving more, just to see if it was that book or all of her books. Spoiler alert: it was all (so far). Now, I haven’t made it through her entire library (yet), but I did discover that she was quickly becoming one of my faves.

Revel was everything it was promised to be. Taylan is gonna check off a lot of boxes. It doesn’t take long to realize that she had been forcing her personality into a square shaped hole for far too long and all it took was going on tour with a damaged rock star for her to finally say fuck em’ all, she’s about live life on her terms. I mean, who couldn’t get behind that kind of woman. Revel isn’t perfection. In fact a good chunk of the time he is gonna be an asshole and you’ll have to get through all the flaws and all the scars to really see who he is, but the beauty is wading through it and taking that journey.

Weathering Jack Storm: A Storm Rock Star Romance (Silver Strings Series, G-String Set, Book #2) by Lisa Gillis

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Okay people, if you have read the synopsis for Weathering Jack Storm (either on Goodreads or Amazon) it is going to say the following: “Weathering Jack Storm” is book 2 of the G Strings Set Rock Star Romance, a spin off from the well loved rock and roll band romance Silver Strings Series. This full sized novel can stand alone, but is greatly enhanced by reading Book 1, “Jack Who?” I am here to tell you to NOT adhere to that. Weathering Jack Storm CAN ONLY be read and enjoyed prior to reading Jack Who?. How do I know this? Because I have read the series and the foundation, the roots to the relationship between Marissa and Jack AND Jack and Tristan are all laid down in Jack Who? So if you have decided to give the series a whirl, then do so in order. Thank you, warning over.

Weathering Jack Storm will be told in the third person POV.

We are picking up in Weathering Jack Storm where Jack Who? left off. Jack is moving Marissa and Tristan to L.A. to start a life together. While Marissa is excited to start a new life with Jack, she certainly has reservations about picking up her life and moving it across the country. It doesn’t help that one of the first things she must do upon her arrival in L.A. is attend a party for Jackal’s upcoming album. Adding to that stress, Jack sends her shopping with Randi, who happens to be a lingerie model, and an ex of Jack’s (or so Marissa believes) AND Marissa will be leaving Tristan in the hands of Jack’s aunt and uncle while they attend the soirée, so her stress level is a bit high.

The album party is somewhat of a pre-curser to how L.A. is going to pan out for Marissa. Remember, she is from Mississippi, she worked at a casino for crying out loud. She is not ready for the storm (pun intended) that is about to hit her. Almost from the beginning of this book, we are introduced to Emma, the publicist for Jackal and I can go ahead and warn you that she is a piece of work. I’m not going to get too much into the storyline that involves Emma, but it is one of the main drama sources in this book and to say that one wanted to really give Emma a BXTCHslap would be an understatement.

There is actually a lot happening in Weathering Jack Storm. Unlike Jack Who?, where the focus on the storyline is really about Marissa, Jack, and Tristan and the development of those relationships, this book is going to continue that relationship growth while also injecting more characters into the story. Lisa Gillis does a really good job with the “Living in L.A.” storyline and all of the issues that it brings to a normal civilian trying to incorporate herself into the world of the famous. But, I can’t really say too much without spilling the beans, which means that you will just have to read it to find out.

This may cause side effects to elderly patients, so they must confer with doctor concerning the dosage.* Individuals suffering with the Peyronie’s disease must take exceptional care while using Kamagra to care for the erectile dysfunction, you will have to use low priced viagra 100 mg tablets and more. As we age the prenatal life force or chi is drained out from the naval and kidney areas as we move further into the ego, the illusion, and free samples of levitra dysfunctional breathing patterns. While some readers may get frustrated with Marissa in Weathering Jack Storm, I think that the author did a really good job at presenting the reader with a very problematic Marissa. She is someone who is first a mother and having been the sole caretaker and decision maker for Tristan for the first almost 5 years of his life, you can feel her torture when it came to Jack being able and needing to make decisions for his son. Also, I think that Marissa is really struggling with the lifestyle that she now needs to become accustomed to living. She can basically have anything that she has ever wanted for or needed, but she is not entirely comfortable with spending what she deems is Jack’s money, money that she hasn’t earned. There’s also the small issue of not being able to be so free because the camera lens is always watching. So, while she may be a bit frustrating and overreacting (strip club scene) at times, I think that most of it is intentional (on the part of the author), she will be faced with a lot of crap (for lack of a better word) and all in all, she handles it better than a lot would.

I touched on new characters earlier, but in this book we do get presented with new faces. There is of course the band, which there isn’t a whole lot of storyline revolving them, but we at least get a bit of Jackal. Dax is a prominent character that I really enjoyed. He is Jack’s assistant and I thought that he was very well written and very likable, in fact, his storyline was pleasantly surprising. There are going to be some characters you absolutely love (Dax and Randi) and then there will be some that you loathe (Emma and Meg, Jack’s sister), but I think that they each really added wonderful depth to a really well rounded story.

If there is any disappointment with Weathering Jack Storm, it is in the sex. When I read a book that is of this genre (Rock Star), my expectation level is pretty high and pretty NC-17. I am someone who needs the deets. In this book, the scenes were either too wordy, to where my thought was “What in the hell is happening?” or you know that sex is going down, but it jumps to the next scene. In a book like this, I really wanted some “throw her up against the wall” fucking and this book really gives just PG caliber sex. Disappointing? Yes. But, still loved the book.

This is a really good Rock Star series. The story is an intriguing one and the pages turn quick. I definitely recommend it, I think you will be falling hard for Jack, Marissa, and Tristan. Great read.

Lick (A Stage Dive Novel, Book #1) by Kylie Scott

LickLickSynopsis TagLick SynopsisBxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
BXTCHES GOTTA WARN: I’ve been trying this new thing lately, where I re-read a book and then go back and look over the original review I wrote (usually from way way back) and this book is no exception. Lick was released in 2011, now I have no idea when I first read this book, but this review was written in 2014 and even though I have read it many times since, I decided to take a look at these words and see if I still feel the same. I mean, I probably will, this is a fucking fantastic book and series. Lick is book #1 in the Stage Dive series and kicks things off in a really great way. There are four books in total and each book blends into the next seamlessly, so before you ask, yes, you need to read these books in order so you can really get the full feel of each book.

Lick will be told through the POV of our leading lady, Evelyn.

Lick is going to start in Vegas and it true rock star fashion, it does so with a quickie wedding. Evelyn is in Vegas celebrating her 21st birthday, with her BFF Lauren, and after a night of doing what one does in Vegas while celebrating their 21st, she wakes up the next morning hungover and with a big fat rock on her finger. After working herself through the confusion and haze of the previous night, she discovers that she is indeed married to a very gorgeous man and does what one does when they wake up in Vegas married to a complete, albeit very hot, stranger. . .she gets the fuck out of dodge.

It turns out the attractive stranger is no other than David Ferris, songwriter and lead guitarist for one of the hottest bands around, Stage Dive. Since country music is Evelyn’s music of choice, she doesn’t really know who David is and worse, she doesn’t even remember getting hitched.

No sooner than Evelyn lands in Portland, that the flashbulbs start going and overnight she is made into somewhat of a celebrity. She makes it to her parents house in one piece, just to face lots of lecturing and disappointment. Even though she thought she would never hear from David again, he comes through and gets her out of Portland and to LA, so the annulment procedures can begin.

So hopefully that gives a little insight to the start of a wonderful book. I mean, this is a love story and it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out that they will get their HEA, but it is really fun discovering their journey to get there.

I will fast forward a bit and tell you that once the awkwardness of Vegas is pushed aside, they both decide to make a go of the marriage and really figure out if they are meant to be together. That is the fun part of this book, two people really trying to discover one another, while in the process discover who they really are. One just so happens to be famous the world over, while the other has some self-image and confidence issues she has to work through. The author did a really good job with Evelyn. She is a very independent character, who didn’t take shit from David, regardless of his celebrity status.

It can provide generic levitra canada relief for different ailments in men like low sperm count, general body weakness and impotence and loss of stamina and vigor. It is buy cialis pharmacy important to take treatment under the right medical experts with prior experiences. Of course, with every love story comes some drama. The drama in this book will rock the very foundation that David and Evelyn have/are trying to build. This major hiccup is also a shift in the book, even though you know kind of which way it will go, it was written to keep you on edge as issues were worked on and breakthroughs were made. There’s always this part of a book, where the main characters are suffering apart, but it’s just too raw to be together. Most of the time I enjoy/prefer for books to be written from both POV’s, but in this case, especially at this juncture in the book, it was good to only get Evelyn’s view, because you have no idea what David is thinking or doing, so even though this part of the book was predictable, it was really well written and engaging to the reader.

Sex, sex, sex. Really hot rock star sex. The scenes in this book were well written, but I don’t think they were panty melting hot. That’s not saying I didn’t enjoy them, I did. There were several times in the book that the sex was frantic and uncontrollable, but overall, I believe the scenes were quite tame.

Cheesy as it may be, I really enjoy books that feature a celebrity of some sort falling for the average person. I know a lot of readers dislike this type of plot because of it’s lack of believability, but I think if they are written well, then they can be really good reads and this one is done superbly.

You will be introduced to the remaining members of Stage Dive in this book, some more than others. Their foundation is being laid for future books, the next one featuring the drummer Mal. He is featured in this book more so than the others and he is super funny. And not to spoil anything, but I have read book #2, and he will become a favorite. As for the rest of the supporting characters, they were very well written. I think the true mark of a well written character, is if the reader is able to love/hate them for the right reasons and the author made sure that the characters were written with the appropriate emotion coming from the reader.

A lot of readers complain that stories become unrealistic because two people can’t possibly fall in love as fast as books have it happen. I am an optimist and believe that you should never say never. This book is a really good love story. It has the right amount of what is needed to keep it a page turner. It has humor in spades, the main characters are both able to show vulnerability when it is needed most, and it runs with a very good emotional spectrum. It hits every checkpoint two people encounter when falling in love and it does so very well. This was a very easy read, but more importantly the author kept me engaged for the entire book, which sometimes is not easy to do. I love when a book can put a smile on my face and this one did just that. Good read.

How We Deal With Gravity

This is the first book that I have read from Ginger Scott (but will not be the last). This book is told from both the h/H POV’s, and as anyone knows, I LOVE it when an author is able to write from the male POV in a masculine manner.

If you are looking for a book that has a lot of steamy and dirty sex scenes, this isn’t the one for you. But, what this book does have, is a lot of emotion: love, loyalty, heartbreak (there will be tears), it pretty much runs the “emotional board”.

I fell in love with not only Mason, but Avery as well. I usually really like the female characters in most books, but a lot of times they will have some sort of character flaw that will drive me crazy! But Avery, you can’t help but fall in love with her and Max. I wanted so badly to jump in the book and just help her, which is totally crazy, but that is how well this book is written. I think a great book can be measured by how well the supporting characters are written and Ms. Scott did not disappoint. I will warn you however, this was not a book I could read straight through. It did require me to take some “emotional breaks” and catch up on a little light hearted reading.

So here’s the quick rundown without spoilers: Mason is back in town after trying and failing to hit it big with his band. He goes to the one place that has always felt like home to him, Dusty’s, the bar he got his start in. Dusty’s is owned by Ray, the only father figure Mason has had in his life and one of the people who believed in him from the very start. Avery is not only a waitress at Dusty’s, but she is also Ray’s daughter. Avery had a big ole’ crush (like, she was madly in love with him) on Mason in high school, but as usual, he didn’t give her the time of day. Avery has a son, Max, who is Autistic. Max’s father bailed when being a father became too much (don’t worry you won’t like him at all and the hate is well deserved). Avery catches Mason’s attention and since Mason is staying with Avery and her dad Ray, the tension between the two of them is going nowhere. That is all I’m going to give, because you need to read this wonderful book to see how it all plays out.

Sometimes you need to read a good book that just pulls you in and lets you get in a good cry, THIS IS THAT BOOK. On a side note, if you have any personal experience with Autism, this book will definitely touch you. Great read!
