BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Devil’s Game is the third book in the Reaper’s Motorcycle Club series and just like any great MC series, the foundation begins to be poured in the first book and continues to build in subsequent books. Now, if you’re someone who likes to read out of order, heed the following warning. If you haven’t yet read Ruger and Sophie’s story in Reaper’s Legacy (book #2), then you need to do so BEFORE moving on to Em’s story. There is a storyline in that book that carries over into this book. I know a lot of times these books can be read as stand alones, this is not one of them. So, don’t bitch about it, just do it. Trust me, Ruger is hot and his story is pretty damn worth it.

Devil’s Game will be told through the POV’s of both Em and Hunter/Liam.

Let’s backtrack a bit. I’m sure if you finished book #2, then you are well aware of who Hunter/Liam is, but for the sake of refreshing your memory, we’re gonna flashback a bit. But for those rebels out there who have decided to go against the grain and read these books out of order, there are certainly some spoilers ahead. Remember in the beginning of book #2, when Ruger was moving Sophie out of Seattle, there was a guy across the hall that Noah was hiding from and if you recall, that guy was an ex Devil’s Jack. Also if you recall, Ruger and Horse let the Devil’s Jack MC come and clean up their own mess. Well, Hunter was one of the Jack’s that was sent. In an effort to not confuse you, Hunter is Liam, Liam is Hunter. So, from this point on, we shall call him Hunter, since that is his MC name and all.

Hunter has been assigned the job of collecting info on Emmy Lou Hayes. She is Picnic’s daughter and we have been getting to know her since way back in book #1. Hunter reaches out to Em (as Liam, of course) and they strike up a friendship. In fact, you may remember some of that from the second book. . .when Kimber and Sophie encouraged Em to meet up with Liam and hopefully turn in her V-card in the process. Now, Em has always thought that Painter was going to be her one. That all changes when she walks in on him taking on a club whore right on the bathroom sink. And that is the catalyst that speeds things up with Hunter. If you have read Reaper’s Legacy, then you know that it is Hunter and Skid who kidnap Sophie and Em. In that story, it was told from Sophie’s POV, so as the reader we had no idea what was happening on Em’s end, even though we knew something was happening based on the noise that was coming out of her room. In Devil’s Game, we get all the details that we need to put pieces together. From before the kidnapping when Hunter was wooing Em, to the actual kidnapping, to what happened in Em’s room during the kidnapping. Not only are you going to get it through Em’s perspective, but we also get Hunter’s as well.

While the main storyline in Devil’s Game is that of Hunter and Em, there is an underlying one as well, and that is Em getting out on her own. We get to meet Kit in this book. She is the younger sister of Em and the one who stands up to Picnic and really does as she pleases, making Em envious. So, after the kidnapping, Em decides that it’s time to get out of Coeur d’Alene once and for all and start the process of becoming her own person. Surely, you can see where this is headed.

We already know that Em saved Hunter and Skid from being killed by the Reaper’s. And while part of that reason was to save the truce between the two clubs, the other part was Em just not wanting her club killing Hunter, because kidnapper or not, she has feeling for him. And these feelings that they begin to feel for one another is not only going to be a huge uphill battle, but could come down to being a matter of life and death. And people on both ends aren’t afraid of speaking up and letting both Em and Hunter know how dangerous it will be if they decide to get involved with one another.

The postpartum process canada viagra buy is the period of time.
I’ve said once before that these books get better the further the series progresses and this book just proved that theory. Now, I loved Sophie and Ruger, but I LOOOVED Em and Hunter. For me, this story was more MC than the other two. It was certainly grittier and more criminal in nature, which really adds another layer of excitement. Also, the story flows really well. Even though a good chunk of the first half of the book is spent dealing with the kidnapping and we’ve already been told that part of the story, it didn’t feel like a re-tell at all. And when the book moves into the second half, it sucks you in and engrosses you very thoroughly, it almost dares you to try and put the book down, something that I don’t think you’ll be able to.

The supporting cast of characters are back in this book, however, I do wish we would’ve gotten more of them. We definitely get reacquainted with some of the guys from the Reaper’s and we also get introduced to some from the Jack’s. What we don’t get however, is a lot from the ladies, which I would’ve liked to have seen more from since they’re Em’s circle and she was going through some shit in this book, so she needed them. But, overall, I don’t think that any lack of character support derailed me from my love of this book.

This book is strung tight with sexual tension. We all know that Em is a card carrying member of the V-Club and that angle definitely adds to the overall strain that both Em and Hunter are experiencing. I’m not sure how you’ll feel after you read the scene in which Em gives it all up. When I first read the scene I think I may have been a little put off, because it’s not really how you expected it to pan out. But, then I got my head together and remembered that I am in fact reading a MC book and Hunter is pretty much all Alpha and so while it may not have been romantic, I wouldn’t remove “hot” from the list of adjectives one would use to describe it. Plus, Em is twenty-something, dying to rid herself of her innocence, so who am I to complain about how it went down. Bottom line, Hunter and Em have great sexual chemistry and it comes pouring off of the pages.

This is one of my favorite MC series.  There are so many books in this particular genre as of late and sometimes I feel like I’m reading a very poorly written script of SOA, but not this series. It is full of grit, crime, lots of Alpha hotness, great sex, camaraderie, and really everything one needs to use as an excuse to shoo away the kiddos and tell them “not now, mama’s at a good part”. I really don’t think you will be disappointed.

*Review updated January 2019*

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This book is one of the first books I purchased when I made the switch from Ibooks to Kindle. I purchased it back in February 2013 and of the 1000’s (and there are 1000’s) of books that I have purchased since, this series remains one of my top favorites. I have re-read it more times than I can count and love it each and every time. This is a series, so not only do you need to read in order, but there will be a cliffhanger at the end of this book. If you are someone who prefers a paper book to an e-reader, then I really suggest that you go ahead and buy all 4 books in this series. Trust me, you are going to want to move straight from one to the other.

Here is the thing that you need to know about this series. . .if you have read any reviews regarding this book/series, you will see that some readers take issue with Jesse’s behavior, which some could deem as borderline abusive, which is probably true. To say that Jesse takes Alpha to a whole new level would be an understatement. I am personally not bothered by this, but some are. You do need to remember that this is a series and if you stay invested, things have a way of making more sense and now you have been warned.

This Man will be told through the POV of Ava.

This book will begin to dive into the crazy relationship that develops between Ava O’Shea and Jesse Ward. Ava is a 26 year old interior designer and is coming off of a 4 year relationship with Matt. After discovering Matt’s infidelity, she has decided to take up residence with her BFF, Kate. Surprising, she is not heartbroken and has been advised by her mother that this is the time in her life to have fun and not tie herself down to one man. She is just finishing up the project of her young career, designing the 10 million dollar penthouse suite at the luxury apartments, Lusso, and has now been requested to do some work at The Manor, which she thinks is an exclusive, luxury hotel. Once she arrives at The Manor and is introduced to the owner, Jesse, her life will never be the same.

Jesse Ward is the owner of The Manor, which is really an exclusive sex club. No worries, this BXTCH ain’t spoiling, you won’t need to place too many pieces together before you realize what kind of posh hotel The Manor really is. Once you begin to read the book, it’s not long before the pieces click into place and you will figure it out. Dead giveaways begin to drop like flies. She’s not even allowed to roam the grounds by herself. Once Jesse lays down his description of how he wants the room designed, you get the clear distinction that he has a theme, and it ain’t one you’ll find at the Hilton.

Jesse has lived a very reckless lifestyle thanks to a pretty tormented past, a past that this book will not solve. . .cliffhanger. . .it won’t be until the end of book #3 before all comes together. Which is why you should heed my earlier advice. But one thing we learn very quickly about our Lord, is once his mind is set and he sees something he wants, he will get it and Ava is something that he desperately wants.

Ava is equally drawn to Jesse, but she realizes that he is in fact a client and her boss would really frown upon her going down that road, and more importantly, she is under the impression that he is already involved with a woman (Sarah) and this woman makes it pretty obvious early on that she is either with Jesse, wants Jesse, or has been with Jesse. Regardless of what selection she falls under, she is an employee of Jesse’s and she’s not afraid of making herself known anytime Ava visits The Manor.

Ms. Malpas did a outstanding job writing the character of Sarah. She is everything a catty, thinks that she is better than you, bitch should be. You will dislike her very much, which for me indicates that the author did her job the way it was supposed to be done. There is not one time during the telling of this story that you will have sympathy for her. My guess. . .you’ll wish that you could jump into the book and knock the bitch out yourself.

The hypnotist trains the conscious state of the human brain through different methods so that it can get rid prescription cialis cost robertrobb.com of their sexual problems that are occurring psychologically with the help of sexual therapy. lowest price sildenafil Though, this must be known by the doctors but, it is very much important to know that don’t use more than once a day. Dancing, partying, music and laughter cialis prescription fill the streets, where every storefront seems to become a club of some sort. Otherwise, you can make a claim in adverse situation. buy cheapest viagra The chemistry is electric from the very first meeting and even though Ava does her best to stay far away, Jesse ain’t about that and he does everything he can to keep Ava close by. Once Jesse stakes his claim on Ava, his belief is that she belongs to him. He is very dominant, not in a BDSM way, but in a possessive, you belong to me and answer to me way.

TRUTH? He probably displays a lot of the traits that appear on some sort of checklist one is asked when she is pondering whether or not she is in an abusive relationship. In fact, the only time that their relationship is going swimmingly, is when she is in complete compliance with him. So here’s my hypocrisy, by the end of the trilogy you will of course know why Jesse is the way he is. Also, since you fall in love with Jesse, you kind of love everything about him. I know, probably an enabling excuse that every victim of abuse uses and I probably should be seeking some sort of therapy for loving him, but this shit is fiction, he ain’t crawling into my bed anytime soon.

This story needs and provides you with a very strong supporting cast. Jesse and Ava hold it up very well, but if it wasn’t for the BFF’s and the co-workers and the parents and the bother, This Man wouldn’t be able to tap into all the feels. JEM makes sure to work other points in the story using the supporting characters, which takes some of the pressure off of Jesse and Ava, while shaking the reader up a bit. JEM was able to write them all with depth to ensure that they are not just bystanders, they help tell the story.

JEM knows the way to a woman’s heart is sometimes through her vagina and she tapped that perfectly. . .all puns intended. Don’t expect to be broken in, you’re gonna get it all almost from the get go. Just use your imagination, Jesse is the owner of a sex club, you would be disappointed if he didn’t know how to work what he was given. It is very well written, very well done, and is bound to fire up your libido.

Understand one thing before tackling this book. It takes place in England. This poses no problem for me, but the way they speak and spell is a little different than American English. It is not difficult to follow AT ALL. So please don’t allow it to hinder the splendidness that is this story.

This Man is just the beginning. Jesse and Ava are gonna take you on a ride. . .your gonna go high, low, and everything in between. This Man will leave you on a cliffhanger and trust a BXTCH, it only gets better from there.

Beneath This Man is book #2 in the This Man Series and my review can be found here.

Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Series)

Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Series)Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Series) by Kristen Ashley | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comSynopsis TagSweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
BXTCHES Gotta Warn: I first read this book way back in 2013 and I wrote this first version of my review in 2014, I decided to re-read the entire Colorado Mountain Series in January 2020, which has led to this update. Now, this was actually the very first KA book I ever read and the book that hooked me to her imagination. Normally I preach the importance of reading a series in the order in which it was written and back when I first fell in love with Tate and Lauren, I would’ve told you that my belief didn’t apply to this series. However, now that I have started my re-read, I can tell you the following. Books #1 (The Gamble) and #2 (Sweet Dreams) do not intertwine, BUT you do have to read those books to get to the rest of the series, so it’s best to go in order. You won’t be confused if you don’t go in order, it’s just some of the books reference others and will make you wish you went in order. But to each their own, you do you.

Sweet Dreams will be told through the POV of Lauren (mostly).

Laurie shows up in the mountain town of Carnal, Colorado looking for grounding. Her husband cheated on her with her best friend and has been cheating for FIVE YEARS and after being on the road for months, she finds herself in front of Bubba’s, the local biker bar. She finds herself staring at a now hiring sign, which is all the sign she needs. While Krystal (one of the owners) isn’t too keen on giving a job to a woman who looks like she has stepped right out of suburbia, she relents and Laurie hopes she has found herself a new home.

Tatum (Tate) Jackson is a former college football star, bounty hunter, and part owner of Bubba’s. Their first meeting does not go well AT ALL. He insults her, she refuses to allow him to “get rid of her” and thus, their journey begins.

Laurie is definitely enjoying life in Carnal. She is staying at the local motel, she is becoming familiar with the locals and all in all she’s really trying to figure out her life and how she allowed it to get where it was. Like with a lot of KA female leads, Laurie doesn’t recognize her beauty. Not in a “fishing for compliments” kinda way, but she genuinely doesn’t recognize the male attraction to her, she feels she is just average. Eventually, Tate apologizes to Laurie (though she is hard headed and it takes a little while to truly accept his apology) and some alpha male back and forth takes place with Tate and Wood, but that really doesn’t matter because it should be written in bold letters by now that it’s Laurie and Tate. It’s just gonna take a couple of biker vocabulary lessons for Laurie and a gesture from Tate that Laurie can’t deny will equal her belonging to him. This is definitely gonna be a story that’s all about the journey and at 678 pages. . .it’s a helluva journey.

Try Natural Aphrodisiacs Certain foods are hailed as natural aphrodisiacs and may help to boost libido in men, daily to eliminate boredom from your bedroom. cialis sales canada If you’ve been able to put the book down at this point, good job. However, once you pick it back up, get ready, because once you start the suspense/drama this book offers, it is almost impossible to put down. There’s a serial killer on the loose and this one is targeting women. There’s Tate’s ex-wife (CRAZY ex-wife, to be more specific) who is determined to make sure that Laurie + Tate = will not equal forever and will actually not even have the opportunity to take root. There are entanglements with this ex-wife that will make it very difficult for Tate to just scrap off. There’s Laurie’s ex-husband who believes that he just made a mistake and she should get over her “hissy” fit and come back to him.

KA doesn’t write a novel (regardless of the trope) without it having great sex scenes. Well, at least the ones I have enjoyed. Her alpha is on another level. It’s easy to get caught up in his assholeness, you’ll find that out at the beginning of the book. But then the alpha becomes sweet mixed with bossy and the swooning will commence. All I need to know at this point is whether the sex scenes are her pure imagination or is it aided with a little help from porn. If it’s the latter, I just need the source. Whatever your particular sexual taste is, if it comes in the form of alpha, you’ll get your needs met.

Once again, the supporting cast is fantastic. You will fall in love with them as much as you will with Laurie and Tate. Out of the entire Colorado Mountain series, this is my favorite, possibly because it was my first KA read, but possibly because it is the best. You make up your own mind.
