The Bet (The Bet Series, Book #1)

This is one of those books that was very refreshing. I enjoy a love story that involves drama or suspense and I really enjoy a book that has a lot of hot sex. But here’s the thing, this book doesn’t have any of that, but it didn’t need it. The drama in this book is pretty comedic, so I don’t really count it. And the storyline was so captivating, I forgot all about the hot sex.

This book will focus on the relationship of Kacey Jacobs and Jake Titus, as well as, Kacey and Travis Titus. It’s not any mènage à trois book, it’s just they are very confused about their relationships, don’t worry, it pans out. The story will be told through all three POV’s.

Kacey grew up with Jake and Travis Titus. Jake and Kacey grew up to be best friends, while Travis did nothing but torture Kacey up through high school. Of course, Kacey took this to mean that Travis hated her and she returned the feeling with gusto. They constantly pranked one another, nothing really off limits. Kacey’s infatuation laid with Jake. They attempted dating in high school, but found that they were better as friends. Then on one drunken college night, Kacey’s world changed. Her and Jake slept together for the first time and it is also the night that her parents were killed in a car accident. The friendship was tested when Jake walked out after sex without ever even calling Kacey.

Now, Kacey was not only close to Jake and Travis, but their parents and grandmother as well. Since the fateful night that changed the course of Kacey’s future, she has distanced herself from the entire Titus family and Grandma is fed up. Jake is currently the CEO of Titus Enterprises, making him a millionaire and everything that the title encompasses. His life of strippers, partying, and yes, prostitutes has got Grandma needing to lay down some ultimatums. She orders Jake to get Kacey home and Jake knows that his career is on the line unless he is able to convince Grandma and the board that his partying ways are over. His brilliant plan? Tell his family that him and Kacey are engaged. He is able to talk Kacey into this scheme by offering to pay off her school loans, as well as telling her that Grandma is close to death. So, he dangles a little money and a little guilt and reluctantly she agrees. It’s only for the weekend, how hard could it be?

It is now scattered among all at cheap rate. cheap discount viagra There are three known toxins, environmental, household and dietary. http://cute-n-tiny.com/tag/corgi/ generic viagra cialis
Enter Travis Titus. He has had feelings for Kacey for as long as he’s been picking on her. The problem: she hates him. However, she hasn’t seen him in forever and is shocked once she lays eyes on his body. Once they are able to get over past hate, their limits will be tested. Kacey will get her HEA, I’m just gonna let you read to find out who she gets it with. Trust me when I say, that the journey getting there is fantastic.

The supporting characters in this book are awesome. You will fall absolutely in love with Grandma. She offers everything you wish for a grandmother and then some you wish she kept to herself. She was probably the funniest in the book. The chemistry between Kacey/Jake/Travis was so strong, you know who you want her to fall for, but you can’t help but feel for the other guy. This book was a very easy read, very hard to put down and before you know it, you’re done. Great job by Rachel Van Dyken.

Trashed (Stripped Series, Book #2) by Jasinda Wilder

TrashedTrashedSynopsis TagTrashedBxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Trashed (Stripped Series, Book #2)

I have actually really been anticipating this book and must say, was not disappointed at all. This book will focus on the relationship between Des Ross and Adam Trenton. The catch: Adam is a hot Hollywood star and Des is a college student making her way by picking up trash. The story is told through both POV’s. So, let’s not waste anymore time.

The story kicks off on Mackinac Island, Michigan. I must be honest and say that I have never heard of this place. But after visiting Google, I’ve now discovered that I am a little bit in love. It is very picturesque, which the ironic thing about this is, Des is a janitor here for the summer. Adam is on Mackinac Island for a gala fundraiser. She actually meets Adam when he notices her and leaves his carriage tour to meet her. She is very skeptical of his intentions and one of the things that I loved about her was she didn’t fall all over herself because of his “celebrityship” (I’m most certain that is not a word, but I think you understand). She does agree to dinner with him, but very soon into the date her past is catching up with her and she finds herself running.

Let’s talk about her past a little. Des grew up in the foster care system and to say she had it rough, would be putting it lightly. She is caught in a catch 22, because of how she grew up, she longs for feeling a part of a home and family, but because of how she grew up, she doesn’t trust easily, especially men. So for her, while she dreams about belonging, she realizes that it will probably only ever be a dream. Enter Adam.

While Adam is obviously attracted to Des, there something else he feels almost immediately, he just doesn’t know what it is, but he knows that he wants to pursue it. However, he is only on the island for 2 days, something she also realizes, so in her eyes what can really come of it. Well, because of a storm, Adams’s date for the fundraiser cancels and there is only one person he wants to fill the spot: Des. She agrees, not really realizing what she is agreeing to, but she is quickly exposed to the paparazzi and photographers at the event. She makes it through the fundraiser in one piece, barely, and they find themselves back in Adam’s hotel room. I should probably go ahead and tell you that Des is a virgin, a gift she is willing to give up to Adam. After spending the night together, intimately, it’s time for Adam to leave. At this point he really wants to pursue things further with Des, but he is unsure what she wants. And it’s not that she doesn’t want it, it’s just she is so unsure of the future, she’s not willing to risk it.

So at this point, they separate, months pass before they reconnect and a lot happens in between (you will have to read that for yourself). They’re going to get their HEA, but it is fun reading the process of getting there.

A man should consume this medication just before 30 minutes of medicine’s intake. brand levitra in usa Let them be levitra prescription cost who they are and how many university degrees they’ve got you are making a mistake. Americans spent in 2006 more than 100 billion dollars on purchasing goods cheap viagra without prescription over at this drugstore via Internet. However, the use of this Kamagra medicine does not in any way enhance or hamper cheap 25mg viagra a person’s sperm count. I didn’t really have many issues with this book. I mean, Des was a little frustrating at times, but once you discover her past, everything is really understood. A lot of times when books revolve around a celebrity falling for a “normal” person, as the reader, you’re sorta in disbelief when the “normal” person just doesn’t fall at the feet of the celebrity, but I appreciate the way this story was written. I think she was in awe of him, but she didn’t allow it to cloud herself from seeing the true person behind the celebrity. I do think though, if you are going to have an issue with this book, this is going to be it. I think some readers are going to question the believability of a celebrity falling for an average everyday person and fall hard. For me it would me more unbelievable for her to go all “fangirl” on him and he still want her. My one issue, she gives him her virginity, but he doesn’t realize it. I found that to be a little hard to believe. No blood whatsoever? Maybe it can happen, it was just hard for me to believe.

Wanna discuss the sex? For me, it was just warm. It wasn’t super scorching. Des does become somewhat sex crazed once they establish a relationship and it was written somewhat believable, it was just not very sizzling, I hate to use that word, but I’m just trying to translate what I’m thinking. I’ll just say, I spent time thinking of the logistics of their positions while reading the scenes and I’m sure that’s not what the author is hoping to achieve.

There wasn’t a whole lot to develop in terms of the supporting characters. There are supporting characters, there’s just not a lot of focus on them. The one’s that had some focus in the book are developed enough for you to enjoy the relationship they have with the main characters.

All in all, this is a good read. I enjoyed it. It was a quick read, which I really appreciate. I thought that the storyline was captivating enough to make it hard to put the book down. I recommend and I hope you enjoy.

Rock Me (Ross Siblings Series, Book #2) by Cherrie Lynn

Rock Me (Ross Siblings Series, Book #2)

It’s been a while since I have read this book and so I reread it recently so I could write a fair review. Sometimes you will read a book and think that it was a fantastic read, but then you read it a few months or even years later and wonder what in the hell you were thinking, because it is no where as good as you remember. That’s not the case here, it was as good as I remember, maybe even a little better. Let’s get started.

This book tells the story of Candace Andrews and Brian Ross and is told from both POV’s. You will need a little back story going in, so let me help with that. Candace is from a very well to do family who likes to control her every move. Her mother is a huge bitch, but Candace finds herself constantly seeking approval. Brian is also from a very well to do family, but he is the black sheep. He owns a tattoo parlor and has the ink and piercings expected of someone who owns a tattoo parlor. He was the kid who got into trouble growing up and his family continues to think that is who is. His brother is a lawyer and his sister is in med school, so needless to say, he feels as if he doesn’t fit in. Where it gets interesting is, Brian dated Candace’s cousin, Michelle, which is how Candace knows Brian. Because of his relationship with Michelle, Candace already knows that her family disapproves of him.

The book begins with Candace showing up to Brian’s tattoo parlor, Dermamania, to gift herself a tattoo for her 23rd birthday. Candace has always been attracted to Brian and seeing him in his tattoo parlor only confirms the feelings that she has always had for him. Seeing Candace standing in his shop, Brian is definitely attracted to her, so much so, he gives her his cell number, just in case there are “problems with the tattoo”, Candace also hands over her digits, “just in case”. So, this is the beginning of a very passionate, hot,  and spirited relationship.

They both wind up in the same video store one night, so Brian dials Candace up and they both agree to hang out with one another. One thing leads to another, there is lots of foreplay action happening and BAM, Candace drops a bomb. She is a virgin. Brian is not really pissed at this new information, however, it is a gift he is not willing to take. But, they do have some fun, until the next morning when Candace kicks Brian out because her mother is on her way over and Brian feels as if she is embarrassed to be seen with him.

There is some back and forth going on between Candace and Brian, mostly on the part of Candace. I actually felt a little sorry for Brian, he knows that he wants her, in not only a sexual nature. It’s Candace playing the hot and cold role. In fairness to her, she’s never really had a relationship before and the weight of her family is right on her shoulders. So I guess it’s more of a discovery of oneself that Candace is going through, Brian just happens to be stuck right in the middle. Not only does her family disapprove of him, but she also has to deal with Michelle, who happens to be the only family member that Candace is close to. Candace is trying so hard to be and do what is expected of her, not realizing that the only person she needs to make happy at the time, is herself.
It’s not a new concept at all discount cialis since testosterone therapy was reported to effectively treat menopause symptoms as early as 1937. This is a basic guide to some of the treatments sildenafil wholesale available, but you should consult a medical professional would prescribe.
Brian has a lot of issues with his family, but I really enjoyed them. They have expectations, but they are all really supportive and loving, unlike Candace’s family. I really didn’t enjoy them, AT ALL. Even in the end. Her brother was a real tool and her cousin (the one that is getting married) was the kind of bitch that ranked up there with Candace’s mom. Macy who is one of Candace’s really good friends, is not very likable in the first part of the book. Almost to the point of wondering why Candace was even friends with her, but she redeems herself and even gets her own book, so you know that she becomes lovable.

Usually, a character like Candace gets on my nerves a little. It’s written almost like she is leading him on and then backing away then leading him on some more, but once the whole story comes together, it’s understood. The transformation of Candace from the start of the book to the end of the book was really a joy to read.

Now for the sex! It was smoking hot. Even the virginal scenes, where no intercourse took place were very scorching. I’m not going to give anything away, but the rock concert scene is still, after hundreds of books, one of my absolute favorites.

There are several other books in this series, that honestly I haven’t read yet (except Macy’s story). I know that eventually I will get around to reading them. I’m not sure what’s not to love about this book. A tattooed bad boy who has a penchant for body piercings (you know where) meets the pure, sweet and innocent beauty. Don’t worry, I’m sure you will be Googling “Apadravya” in the end. C’mon, that’s good stuff. It is very well written. The supporting characters are developed well enough, even the ones you will hate. This book is four years old, so if you haven’t enjoyed it yet, I say why not go for it? It is definitely a good read.

Fighting to Forget (The Fighting Series Book #3) by JB Salsbury

Fighting to ForgetFighting to ForgetSynopsis TagFighting to ForgetBxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Fighting to Forget (The Fighting Series, Book #3)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: I’m sure if you are looking to read this book, then you have already enjoyed the first two. While I’m not too sure that it is totally necessary that you read the first two books before this one, I do think it will help you enjoy this series as a whole. These stories will start inter-twining and while it won’t be hard to follow along without reading them in order, it will take away from the depth of the story, which isn’t fair to the author. Anyways, it’s just a tip.

I think that the first two books were fantastic, still do. But this book tugged at emotions in me that the other two were not able to get to. I loved Raven and Jonah’s story and while it was somewhat tragic, it was only in parts. Even with Blake and Layla, she was really trying to distance herself from that of her former life and Blake was helping with that. I do think that some of their story was emotional but for me, Blake was the balance that the relationship needed so it wasn’t too heavy. You do not get that in this book. In fact, I had to periodically put it down, because it was hard to witness the raw emotion, especially from Rex. So, while this book isn’t a lot like the first two, it is a very good read.

This story will be told from both Mac’s and Rex’s POV. If there is ever a story where this is important, it is this one. We have met both Mac and Rex in book #2. Mac is the waitress at The Blackout, the bar that the band Axatia frequently performs at and the one who befriended Layla when she was new in town. If you remember, Rex is the lead singer for the band and to further spark your memory, it’s the same band that Blake performed in for Layla. I will go ahead and tell you that there will be some shocks and twists in this book, none of which I will give away. I will reveal what I can, without ruining the story for you. You ready?

Georgia McIntyre (Mac) has moved to Las Vegas for only one reason, Rex. Mac’s parents were the foster parents to Rex. They kept him locked in the basement and he was subjected to severe abuse, Mac was his light. They only ever communicated from under the basement door, but her “light” and presence is what has got him through some very tough times.

The unfortunate part is the past is constantly affecting Rex’s present. He’s a fighter for the UFL and welcomes the pain almost like one would welcome a hug or kiss from someone they cared about. Sex is not something he craves or wants, but something he will only do if it is needed. The problem is, he knows he has certain issues and he realizes that they stem from his past. What he doesn’t know is what happened in that basement when he was a small child to cause him to become the adult he is. The one person who does know: Mac.

There may be more heat and high blood flow in the testes, which causes problem with number and quality of sperms. cialis cheap uk pharmacy levitra The pharmaceutical is then given a brand name by its maker. According to most medical experts, symptoms prostrate are one viagra 100mg generika of the most difficult signs to notice in an individual. However, these side effects do not necessarily occur to online cialis pills everyone who dwells on it. Mac has loved Rex since she was a girl. The sole reason for her being in Las Vegas is to confront Rex and apologize for the things that happened to him as a child, she feels somewhat responsible. Once she realizes how deep his wounds run, she vows to help him put the pieces of his past back together, but going into detail about his past is something that Rex does not do, so getting close to him is going to be a very tough obstacle for Mac to face. Now, they do start a relationship and Rex begins to open up to Mac, but what happens when Rex finds out the secret that Mac has been keeping from him?

This book is going to take you for a ride. Usually when characters in books are keeping some sort of a secret that is going to define the future of the relationship, I’m the one screaming “Just say it!” and I get frustrated at the character waiting to tell the secret. In this case, I understood the why in this case. It couldn’t have been easy for Mac to harbor that secret for so many years. I felt so much sorrow for Rex, you could feel that his past was going to be very difficult him to overcome, especially because he only talked about it with his therapist. Nobody else knew of the demons he faced every day. But I felt equally compassionate towards Mac. To carry the guilt of a sin you had not control over for so many years is going to fuck you up and you see that page after page in this book.

Like I said, I don’t want to give too much away, but at some point Mac decides she needs to get away from Vegas. This is my only negative with the story. Not so much of her getting away, that I understood. However, I didn’t like where the author sent her. I think that the same outcome could have happened by sending her anywhere else. And, I don’t think that the personal route that Mac chose while away was necessary. I understand demons, I understand it being hard to escape those demons, it was just hard for me to read Mac during that time. It came together in the end, so eventually it worked, I just didn’t like the journey.

JB Salsbury really has written a very emotional, heartfelt series. As I read each book, I appreciate the series more and more. I have finished book #4 and was NOT AT ALL disappointed, it was fantastic. Blake is still my favorite, but I have a soft spot for Rex. I think he was beautifully written and while he had so much to overcome, he never let it defeat him, which is the hardest thing to do, right? Read this book, read this series, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Just be prepared to be swept up in some serious emotional shit.

Futures and Frosting (Chocolate Lovers Series, Book #2)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Ok guys, they’re back! And I hope like hell you read book #1 in this series. If your sense of humor did not fit well with Seductions and Snacks, it will most definitely not fit here. You have been warned and I must say, if by the crazy chance you didn’t find the first book funny, your friendship with me would be in question. Let’s go.

Once again, this book is told through the POV of Claire and Carter. This series is an example of a reader getting lost in a book and at some point wishing is was some sort of reality. I did a little research on the internet to see if there is even talk to turn this book into a movie and couldn’t find anything regarding it, but I personally think that this series would make a much better TV series, on like HBO of course. I can only dream that someone will get their paws on this and make it to where I’m tuning in once a week and waiting for it to go to Netflix, oohh, that’s who should make into a series: Netflix. Ok, someone needs to get this ball rolling.

There have NEVER been truer feelings written than the ones that Claire has in the first few pages of this book. The last book left us with Claire announcing to Gavin that they would be moving in with Carter. As this book begins, Claire is fantasizing about different ways to choke Carter. I know, funny, right? Truth is, it’s only because of his snoring and her lack of sleep. I for one can say, that we’ve all been there. Maybe not choke, but roll of the bed with the force of a dump truck.

Just like the last book, this book will focus on the growing relationship between Carter and Claire, but will also focus on the relationship of the whole group. We will see the planning of, as well as the nuptials of Jim and Liz. There will be an out of control co-bachelor/bachelorette parties that will have you tearing up with laughter. A meeting of the parents (Carter’s that is) that will have you double checking Facebook, just to be safe and extra careful about who you friend request.
Most common side effects for injected medications are: * Scarring * Redness * Tenderness and swelling * Minor bleeding or spotting * Priapism or persistent and painful erection * Allergic reactions such as rashes, itching, dizziness, and difficulty in breathing * *For Urethral Injection: – Burning purchase viagra on line sensation in the urethra Standard drugs used as injected medications for erectile dysfunction are: Diabetes Cardiovascular disease Cancer Damage from. online levitra These tiny tears will heal stronger if muscles are given proper recovery time. Seduction and Snacks is up and running and doing very well. Claire is finally getting everything she wished for or is she? Does she want marriage or is she too fearful of turning out like her mom and dad? So, of course their relationship would need to move forward, especially with Claire and Gavin moving in with Carter. One of the central stories in this book is Carter wanting to propose to Claire. During Carter’s POV, we see the hard work that he puts into the proposals (yes, there are several attempts) while Claire unknowingly shoots them down. Through Claire’s POV, we learn that marriage isn’t something she thinks she wants. Because of this, there is a wishful/suspicious porn addiction and Claire’s crazy hormones making her think that Carter isn’t interested anymore.

I won’t give away what there is to give away in this book. Just know that the craziness didn’t stop with the first book. This book is going to bring you pot cookies, dinner roll baseball, Claire’s crazy mom, an unforgettable trip to the sex toy store, and once again the foul mouth of Gavin.

What I really love about this book, is it really is a great love story. One of the reasons I love reading a book that has both POV’s is because, like with this book, you can see how much Carter really loves Claire and Gavin. But for me, it wasn’t just a romantic love story, it’s a love story among friends. The dynamic between these characters that Tara Sivec was able to capture in words made the story believable. I love reading fiction and I know that it is a fantasy, but I use my imagination so much when I read that I like to think it could be true and she does that. You can’t help but really connect to everyone of these characters. While the focus of the first two books have been on Claire and Carter, I think that the supporting characters really round out the depth of this series. As crass and crude as Drew can be, I couldn’t imagine him written any other way. I actually know people who have no idea how to use the words that are coming out of their mouths. Not as extreme as Jenny, but still makes you look at them, like WTF? This series just keeps getting better and better, even after reading it over and over. So, thank you Tara Sivec, for allowing me to escape from time to time, even if it’s just for one chapter, but really, can it ever be just one chapter?

Cooper (Corps Security Series Book #4) by Harper Sloan

CooperCooper (Corps Security)Synopsis TagCooper (Corps Security)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Cooper (Corps Security, Book #4)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: This is book 5 of 6 in the Corps Security Series and not to sound like a broken record, but if you haven’t read the previous books in this series, you may be slightly confused and very disappointed, especially because this book comes on the heel of the murder of Coop, oops, I gave it away. See that’s what you get for not reading these books in order. Now, let’s go.

This book features Asher Cooper and Chelcie Avery and is told through both POV’s. I don’t really want to bring up the past, but after reading Beck, you should know that Asher is the older brother of Coop (wipe the tear) and during Dee’s attack, Coop and Chelcie relieved their stress with one another that resulted in a pregnancy. As expected, Chelcie is pretty torn up with the death of Coop, not because she was harboring some misplaced love for him, she took the one night stand for what is was: one night. She’s upset because, she never had the chance to tell him about the baby. So, enter Asher, who upon first glance, is attracted to Chelcie. Unfortunately, he is so consumed with grief from the murder of his brother that he can’t come up from the bottle that is drowning his sorrows. Chelcie is equally attracted to Asher, but is conflicted in telling him about the baby. She realizes that the knowledge that she is carrying his brother’s child, may be the catalyst that pulls him from his darkness, but since she is attracted to him, she doesn’t want him to view her in a negative manner.

This book will feature some flashbacks during Asher’s POV. The most important ones, in my opinion, are the ones that flashback to the childhood of Asher and Coop. If you remember, Coop was the one who didn’t believe in relationships and was just content having a revolving door of women. The flashbacks will explain why. They focus on their childhood and their drug addicted, bitch mother. Because of the flashbacks, you will understand why Asher blames himself for Coop’s murder and why his need for revenge is so intense.

Asher and Chelcie finally get it together and actually-get together. She obviously tells him about the baby and they will get their HEA, so he is very excited about the birth of Coop’s baby. This is after Dee and Sway “set” Chelcie up on some very ridiculous blind dates, one of which she is rescued from by Asher. Everything is going very smoothly in their relationship except for Asher’s need for revenge. This is a topic that they do not agree upon at all, but they will work it out in the end.

Asher does have a psychotic CRAZY ex, actually, psychotic is being nice. For as smart and in tune to one’s character as these men are, they sure know how to pick the ex. It’s interesting that they can look at “their woman” and can tell whether or not she is lying or hiding something, but can’t see crazy when it’s sleeping next to them in bed. This particular ex does cause some havoc, but thankfully none too damaging. However, it does bring Emmy back.

There are some pretty emotional, heavy moments in this book. For me, the most poignant was when Chelcie delivered the baby. I won’t spoil, but it was very moving. It was also good to see Asher being brought out of his very dark place, one thing I would’ve appreciated though, was some sort of confrontation with his mother. The flashbacks were enough to establish her as a character and I felt that Asher would’ve gotten true closure being able to confront the one person who planted his roots.

They were present in this book, just not as much as in the first couple of books in the series. Dee was more prevalent in this book, because of her relationship with Chelcie. We do see the other characters, it’s just very seldom and with everyone having babies, it would’ve been nice to see where they all were more than what was offered.

Sex, sex, and sex. Well, this is an important part of these books and the sex here is good, not the best that we’ve seen in this series. I will give Harper Sloan credit though, she did a good job writing very passionate sex scenes where the woman is pregnant without it being awkward. It didn’t deter her from still being very vivid in her descriptions, which is always appreciated.

All in all, good book. I’m still reeling from the death of Coop, so this one was a little emotional for me. The series is almost coming to an end, Maddox Locke is next and from what I can tell the last one to get his story told. Stay tuned.

Uncaged (Corps Security Series Book #3.5) by Harper Sloan

Uncaged (Corps Security, Book #3.5)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Look, you know what I’m gonna say here. Even if you are a rebel (which I appreciate), DO NOT read this book without first reading Cage (book #2). Even if you don’t read any of the other books (why you would do that, I have no idea) you have to read Cage first or you just wasted your money on this book, because Uncaged is really a continuation of Cage. Okay, BXTCHES, you have been warned.

I know you are already head over heels for Greg Cage, right? Well, Holy hotness, the “Greg Love” is about to explode. I don’t know about you, but when I can witness any man fall even more in love because his wife/woman/girl is pregnant, it brings a smile so big to my face that my eyes will crinkle. So, you can add Mr. Cage to the book boyfriend list, because he is about make you melt.

This story is told through both Melissa and Greg’s POV. This book picks up around the end of Beck, with a couple of flashbacks thrown in. This is more of a novella, so it is a quick and very easy read. It focuses on the journey of the Cage family and their road to giving birth to twin girls.

With everything that has happened to the Corps Security family recently, they are definitely not taking tomorrow for granted anymore. They have decided to have a family dinner once a week and even include Sway, who has not only become part of the family, but has also got a new love in the form of David, who has taken Emmy’s place at Corps Security.  So, all in all, things are looking good for everyone and with twin girls on the way, things couldn’t be better in the Cage household.

Cohen is cuter than ever, in fact the things that come out of his mouth, will make him one of your favorites in this book. Example: “HA! Daddy has his wiener rings in! Daddy, your wiener is funny looking with Mommy’s earrings in there!”. His transition from his kidnapping and his Nana’s death, was very well written. In fact, I think that making sure that he always has his “angels” was very moving. His relationship with one very brooding Maddox Locke (he calls him by first and last name) will allow you to see a side to Maddox that is lacking in the other books. And when you read why Cohen has decided this, you will start to fall a little bit in love with Maddox Locke. We also see the relationship deepen between Greg and Cohen. They have really become a father/son duo without any setbacks and the love that Greg has for Cohen is inspiring, though, I’m sure you felt it in Cage.

Ok, so this wouldn’t be a true to form Corps Security book without any drama. Get your emotions ready and have your tissues handy, because when you get to about 45% in this book, you’re going to be right there with that whole family, holding your breath. I can’t give it away, you need to read what happens. I can tell you however, that to watch Greg go through what he is going to go through will definitely shoot him to the top of your list, if he wasn’t already there. You will see a new side to Maddox, which I think is setting us up for his book, which I think is going to be intense. The way that Cohen responds to the tragedy before him will penetrate to your heart. Harper Sloan did such a great job writing him, giving him such personality and character at such a young age. You will appreciate it.

Don’t want to leave out the goodies. There is sex in this book, this is the Corps Security, for crying out loud. As any pregnant woman has witnessed, pregnancy brings certain needs and with Melissa and Greg, I think those needs are on steroids. While the sex isn’t rampant, it’s there and it’s enjoyable.

The story will end well, don’t worry. It did include an epilogue from Cohen’s POV, 15 years later. Which is nice, because Harper Sloan is setting fans of this series up for the next generation of Corps Security.

Beck (Corps Security Series Book #3) by Harper Sloan

Beck (Corps Security)Beck (Corps Security)Synopsis TagBeck (Corps Security)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Beck (Corps Security, Book #3)

BXTCHES Gotta WarnYou probably have already figured out that each of these stories will get their HEA and there is really no cliffhanger, blah, blah, blah. But once again, I highly recommend that you read the books in their respective orders. If you chose to go out of order then be warned that things could get confusing because previous events are referenced in each book.

If you thought the books before were serious and emotionally draining, then prepare yourself to maybe need therapy and a really good drink after this one. Let’s jump on in.

This book follows Dee and Beck. Like the previous books in this series it is told through both of their POV’s. Obviously you know the nature of Dee and Beck’s relationship and like me, you probably thought that they were playing this back and forth game and it was really just a relationship to scratch an itch. And, Dee probably irritated you a little because all arrows pointed to her not wanting the relationship with Beck. If you were one of many that got irritated with Dee, then EVERYTHING is about to be explained and your theory is going to be turned upside down.

This review is going to be difficult to write because there is so much that I can’t say if fear of giving away the book, some stuff I can mention, because it was touched in the other books. So, I will reveal what I can, without ruining anything.

The book starts with a glimpse of Dee’s childhood, which to say was abusive would be an understatement. So, the beginning of her life left a footprint that looks as if it will be embedded for life. Let’s add in the fact that she was somewhat of a witness to Izzy’s marriage with Brandon while harboring the guilt because she set them up, footprint is digging in deeper. Now, don’t forget that Brandon attacked her in her home, well, it’s gonna take an act of God to remove the idea of all that a man is or will become. I would say an act of God, but really just an act of Beck.

The beginning of the book will focus on Dee and Beck first getting together, so the timeline is taking place during Izzy and Axel’s story as well as Greg and Melissa’s. So when we get into the meat of the story, it’s about two years after the end of Axel and right around the end of Greg, give or take some months. I can go ahead and tell you that while everyone knows Dee as the life of the party, she has been faking that personality, in part so she doesn’t have to face all that is destroying her, but also because she doesn’t want to burden anyone. Beck sees right through it and is determined to break through. It’s hard for him, because he continues to get shit from his boys, who keep telling him to leave her alone, why want something that doesn’t want back, etc. Well, they just don’t know.

What is ovulation? Ovulation is a process that happens once in every menstrual cycle when an egg moves from the ovaries into the Fallopian tubes and prevent the egg from reaching the uterus. viagra tablets in india If you remember in Cage, Dee was suspicious about activity in her North Carolina office. What happens because of these activities is going to change the Security Corps family forever. Like I said, get ready. This book got to be a little heavy for me to the point that I had to stop in certain places and rest. I will tell you beware reading this in public. Again, there are so many things that I can’t say because it will truly ruin this book for you, you’re just gonna have to trust a BXTCH.

Let’s talk about some good stuff: SEX. There’s a reason Beck calls Dee “wildcat”. Sex between Dee and Beck caused LOTS of destruction, literally. I’m surprised that he didn’t need to replace the entire inside of his home, it was like they were having an out of body experience. But, just like the others, the sex is on fire and this book needs those scorching moments to lighten up all of the heavy stuff.

Beck is close to being one of my favorites, in fact, I will say that he was giving Greg a run for his money, but then I went and read Uncaged (book #4) and my heart grew even bigger for Greg. No worries, Beck is still close behind.

I know that the reviews I have read for this book, some readers are irritated with Dee. I get being irritated prior to reading this book, I just don’t know how you can be after you’re able to understand everything that she has gone through. If anything I was more frustrated with Greg and Izzy for not noticing a friend in need, especially given everything they have been through.

This book was very unexpected. I have definitely loved the series up to this book, I was just not expecting everything this book gave, in fact, I can’t really say that I was willing to take it. There are moments that are going to gut you (have tissue ready), moments that will make you proud of Dee, moments that will make you want to pull you hair out and chunk your e-reader across the room, moments that may make you need a cold shower and a stiff drink, but in the end it will be a moment of love and triumph. I’m not sure why Harper Sloan saved all of this for one book, but good move by her, because if you’re not singing her praises after you read this, you may want to make sure you got the right book. This may very well be a series that gets mourned for when it ends.
