39 & Holding

I came across this gem of a book while browsing Amazon, really looking for something new and different to read. Downloaded the sample, was pleased enough to go ahead and purchase. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. This book will be told through the POV of Greer.

We are going to meet Greer Walker, 39 year old, divorced mother of 2. After 14 years of marriage (20 years together in all) her husband not only decides that he is no longer in love with her, but he is in fact in love with a 25 year old bombshell. Not only in love with, but has carried on an affair with while still married to Greer (even having sex with the 25 year old in his martial bed). So, after having her heart and world crushed, she is now trying to figure out how to be single after 20 years.

Greer first lays her eyes on Nick Costa while sitting in traffic. They both happen to be listening to the same song when he looks over and offers Greer a chocolate donut. He eventually goes his way, she goes hers. Even though she doesn’t believe that she will ever see the “donut man” again, she did feel a spark and for her that meant that maybe she isn’t destined to become an old cat lady after all.

So much for her not ever laying eyes on the man with the chocolate donuts again. Greer is more than surprised when she finds herself face to face with him in the emergency room. Her daughter has broken her arm and who would’ve thought that the Orthopedic Surgeon assigned to repair the arm of her 6 year old is no other than, the man with the chocolate donuts himself or Dr. Nick Costa to be exact.

Now faced with follow-up visits, Greer realizes that she isn’t going to be able to avoid Dr. Costa anytime in the near future. So she does what any responsible woman would do, she makes sure that when she shows up for Sophia’s first appointment, that she is dressed to impress, well impress a particular doctor that is. After receiving the cold shoulder from the good doctor during the appointment, she is left even more confused, which compounds after she is told that she can’t see any other doctor, per Dr. Costa’s orders. Don’t worry, everything picks up after Nick has chocolate donuts delivered to Greer’s dance studio. She tries to deny them, but she will fail epically.

That hopefully gets you a good start to the relationship between Dr. Chocolate Donut and Greer. Here is what I adored about this book. First, Nick is 10 years younger than Greer, who happens to be knocking on the door of 40. I don’t think turning 40 is any different than turning 37, but for a woman, it’s just having to say “I’m 40” that causes a few heart palpitations, which is even more reason to love the fact that Nick is 29 (going on 30)and really really good looking. Also, this story really focused on Greer’s insecurities, which I thought was a good thing. Let me elaborate. Greer did play the “why me” card. The “why would someone as hot as Nick desire a single mom of 2” why me card. I think that her thought process on that had more to do with her husband leaving her for a 25 year old and what that did to her spirit. We learn during the course of the story how her husband made her feel about herself, especially in the latter years of their marriage. He wouldn’t go down on her because he saw her give birth, there are so many things I could say to that, or he would comment on how she need to focus more on her midsection. I mean this woman is a dancer, her body is fantastic. But after hearing her husband point out her worst flaws, the ones that she already beats herself up over, then move onto a 25 year old, that is going to do something to a woman’s self esteem. Which is another reason I love this story, it was real. And as douchey as her husband was, in all aspects, she continued to respect him. Well, respect him as much as one can when the asshole leaves her for someone 15 years younger. She never allowed what he did to the family unit get in the way of the kind of father he was, which was extraordinary. She was the bigger person.

cheap levitra professional Do not overpass the dose recommended to you by the nice prints and designs. Kamagra is a drug that treats erectile issue securely cialis 20mg generika and easily. She was so hung up on her body’s flaws, pooch and stretch marks, that she refused to get completely naked in front of Nick. When the two come head to head about it, it is a remarkable moment in the book. What the author did is remind the reader of the fact that it doesn’t matter the amount of friends you have that constantly remind you of how beautiful you are (Greer has plenty of those) or how great your professional life may be (Greer has that) or how fantastic your kids are (which Greer also has), but once your spirit has been crushed and your soul damaged, that it really takes someone who is one of a kind to put it back together again.

Greer’s insecurities speak to how a lot of women feel about themselves, especially after having children. This book is refreshing. Reading about a woman struggling to find her way back after a divorce that almost destroyed her was inspiring.

Oh, there is sex and it is hot. Nick really brings out the sexual side of Greer like her husband never did. It was written very erotically. Nick is somewhat dominant (I said somewhat) in the bedroom, which Greer has never experienced and quite enjoys. He is also a dirty talker, which is also new to Greer, which I find very sad. Every woman needs a good dirty talker in her bed. I think it would surprise a man of the things a woman would be willing to do based on a few dirty sentences coming out of their mouths. The only frustrating thing for me was this. During a lot of this book, but especially during the sexual parts of this book, we read about how Ryan (the ex) never made Greer feel the way Nick does. Sex was more of a scheduled event that happened, instead of hot, passionate, throw me up against a wall sex that Nick offered, and honestly that everyone desires. Greer would also talk about the sparks felt between her and Nick that she never felt with Ryan. But then she would use her marriage as her fall back, her reasoning for holding up progress in her relationship with Nick. I understand it to a degree, but it was obvious that what her and Nick had was way more than Ryan ever offered, I just wish she would have seen it more clear, earlier than she did.

This book has drama, humor, great sex, and great supporting characters. The author did a wonderful job with the depth of writing Greer’s friends and even her father and kiddos in this one. The only thing is I would’ve liked to have seen was friends of the great doctor. But, I suppose since it was told through Greer’s POV, it’s her friends we get. But no worries, they were fantastic.
Don’t judge this book by its cover. I wasn’t overly impressed with it either. Trust me, what is on the inside here is what matters. This book is so well written and doesn’t leave on a cliffhanger, so you will have your closure. I am very happily married and knocking on the 40 year old door, but this book still inspired me. If anything, to embrace who I am, 40 or not and know that if your husband can’t embrace you, battlescars and all, then FUCK HIM!

You and Everything After (The Falling Series, Book #2)

I apologize in advance for this review. See, I feel that after this is done and written, it really is going to more of a dedication, a love letter if you will to Ginger Scott. I don’t know how she does it, I really don’t want to know how she does it, honestly. I do prefer a little mystery in my relationships, one sided or otherwise. This book was released on December 5 and I feel like I have betrayed my love for Ginger Scott, because I didn’t even purchase the book until a couple of days ago. But, in my defense, I had backlogged myself on reading and I really needed the time to sink into this story. I really LOVED This is Falling and I knew that I was going to love this book, but I didn’t think it would top This is Falling. Boy, was I wrong. I “heart” this book much more than I do the first one. I still love the first one, I don’t want to hurt any feelings. I still adore Nate and Rowe, it’s just Ty and Cass really stole my heart.

If you can’t already tell, this book tells the story of Ty and Cass and is told through both POV’s. Hopefully, you have read This is Falling, if you haven’t: PLEASE READ NOW!! If you remember, Ty and Cass get together at the same time that Nate and Rowe are blossoming, so this story will coincide (for the most part) with that book.

This book begins with Ty in Florida (at school). In the first several pages, his character reveals himself as someone who “screws them, then loses them”. Once we are introduced to Cass, we learn very quickly that her past is something that she is attempting to escape from, which is why she chose to attend McConnell. Oklahoma is a long way from California, which is where Cass hopes to leave any remnants of her past.

We will learn in this book what exactly happened to Ty to cause him to wind up in a wheelchair. We will also discover some about his life before his accident and the love that he has for Kelly, his high school girlfriend, which was heartbreaking and loving at the same time. In the first book, we were able to really grasp the love that Nate and Ty had for one another, especially through Nate’s POV. It was obvious the love that Ty had for Nate, but being able to witness it from his POV made their sibling bond even more remarkable.

Cass is a phenomenal athlete, soccer to be exact. While still in high school, she discovers that she has MS. This put a huge dent in any plans that she had to play soccer at the collegiate level.  Add this life altering diagnosis with the hormones and emotional outburst of a normal teenage girl and you have someone who dealt with all of that baggage by becoming promiscuous. Because of this, her reputation took a direct hit, which is why she needs to leave her past where it is, in California. The only thing that she brings with her, from her past to Oklahoma is her twin sister, Paige. You remember Paige, right?

Cass and Ty meet when he is assigned to be her trainer. They hit it off, very well. They then run into each other again at a party, where she ups her worth in the eyes of Ty, by beating some ass in video games. Even though, Cass tries to fight the attraction she has to Ty, she eventually gives in and a beautiful relationship is formed.

Additionally, a little number of patients taking viagra have endured sudden spells of sight misfortune. Previously, because of some overly spread out myths on best price cialis our store regarding loss of vision for a short period. Introduce your baby to levitra 20mg online recommended new foods with a gap of 24 hours between 2 (two) doses. In the minds of Cass’ parents, her sister, her coaches, her doctors, even in hers a little, MS took her away from the sport she loves. With Ty’s encouragement and training, she develops the confidence she needs to give herself the chance of soccer once again. There will be some drama, isn’t there always? But as it unfolds, you can really see how well Cass has grown in how she deals with all that is coming down around her.

So, I think that is a pretty good glimpse inside these wonderfully wounded individuals. Now to what I love about this book. Well, really everything.

Ginger Scott has a talent of being able to characterize someone with something like MS or being to confined to a wheelchair and instead of playing to those disabilities (I hate that word, but I feel it is necessary here) as a weakness, it is always just a part of who that character is. It’s almost like an enhancer for them. When human nature is supposed to take over and sympathy or curiosity is to coming pushing through, she pushed it back. Obviously, Ty being in a wheelchair is an important part of his character, but instead of making it an obstacle, she makes it an extension. And even though you’re reading words on a page, you grow to not notice it.  I actually don’t know a whole lot about MS. I do know that it can be debilitating, but Cass didn’t allow MS to define what her capabilities were, she defied what she was told they were going to be, which allowed such a powerful message to be spoken to individuals who are suffering and maybe allowing MS to be who they are instead of just something that they have. Ginger Scott knows how to speak to her readers through characters and really put a smile on their soul.

I don’t think I have the intelligence to be an author and create a story that could possible define someone or really reach out and cause inspiration. However I begin to think, “hell, it’s just words”, then I read a book like this and re-think the “it’s just words”. It’s so much more. I have a handful of authors who I consider my favorite and the one thing they have in common is their ability to go beyond it ever being “just words”. It’s an escape, a feeling, a hiccup in your breath, a paragraph that makes you close your eyes, if only for a moment, and take it in. That’s what she does. She makes every word count. She has done it before, she does it here and with complete certainty, she will do it again and I can’t wait.

You and Everything After is book #2 in The Falling Series. Book #3, The Girl I Was Before, will tell the story of Paige and Houston and is available now.

Tattered Love (Needles Kiss, Book #1) by Lola Stark

Tattered Love (Needles Kiss Series, Book #1)

This is book #1 in the Needles Kiss series by Lola Stark and will focus on the relationship between Scarlett Garcia and Mace Torres. This book will be told through the POV of Mace and Scarlett.

There are a few things in life that Scarlett Garcia loves fiercely: her car, her friends and her tattoo shop. With no desire to be in love at the moment, she is quite content in the life that she has made for herself. That is until Mace Torres walks through her door.

Mace is the older brother of Trip, who works at the tattoo shop with Scarlett. He is returning home for good from the military and his first destination, to see his little brother. What he gets is a little more than a “welcome home”.

The chemistry between Mace and Scarlett is apparent from the very beginning. What starts out as something maybe a little casual, turns into more than either of them expected. Mace is staying with his brother Trip for the time being and conveniently, Scarlett lives right across the street. The author wrote Scarlett going against the usual stereotype for a leading lady, which I love. She loves cars, helped her dad rebuild hers, she loves ink and piercings and is just a downright anti-girly girl, who happens to have a fondness for sexy underwear and great shoes. She has a crazy BFF in Teeny and what you see is what you get. There’s not too much drama surrounding her, which is good because Mace is going to have enough for both of them.

Mace is fresh from the military and instantly is attracted to Scarlett. After lots of serious back and forth flirting, a date is agreed upon and well, their relationship is kicked off. I liked Mace, I thought he was well written, loves his family, very protective and of course, HOT. He does carry some pretty heavy baggage, though. I won’t give it away, only because I think the author intended for it be more of a reader reveal. I will however tell you that there is a crazy ex involved. Honestly, crazy may be too nice of a word for her. It always humors me when the Alpha male is a serious military type, but can never see crazy when it’s right there in their face. Just a flaw, nothing too off putting.

Is there really “the one”. There will be setbacks for them along with some drama, but all in all, it’s just fun to read it unfold and develop what was casual fucking into something that is meant to last a lifetime.

I thought that this book blended the right amount of funny, sex, and drama. The characters here were very well written. They weren’t overly done up and they had just enough side story to set you up for the next book.

The sex in this book was fantastic. My only problem with it, was the amount of times they were doing it. I’m all for young love and you can’t keep you hands to yourself, but really, what vitamins are you taking to go hours, non stop? But, the fact that Mace is a dirty talker and there is a funny shower scene (that could totally happen in real life) makes up for that slight flaw.

Overall, great and quick read. I was able to get through it in about a day and a half. This is my second time through the series, but it’s been so long since the first time I read it, it really was like reading a new book all over again. According to author’s website, there will be a book #3 (Forbidden Love) which will focus on Haven (the little sister to Mace and Trip) as of now, there is not a release date, keep an eye out.

Waiting on the Sidelines (Book #1) by Ginger Scott

Waiting on the SidelinesWaiting on the SidelinesSynopsis TagWaiting on the Sidelines Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Waiting on the Sidelines (Waiting on the Sidelines, Book #1)

I hope that I am able to do justice for this book with this review. What I wish is, after you have read the synopsis and then the review, that you do whatever it is that you do to get a book (download, run to the bookstore, etc.) and while you are doing that, go ahead and pick up book #2, you’re going to want to pick up where this one leaves off. This is truly a coming of age, love story that will have you nostalgic and reliving old times.

This book will tell the story of Nolan Lennox and Reed Johnson and is told through the POV of Nolan. Nolan was named after the great Nolan Ryan, her parents were convinced that they would be having a boy and after receiving the surprise of her gender, her dad insisted that her name remain Nolan. Nolan is getting ready to start her freshman year at Coolidge High School in Coolidge, AZ and thought she was ready for anything. She has lived her life up to this point being who she is with no apologies. She has never felt ashamed of her roots. Yes, they live in a manufactured home, but it is her home. Her clothes aren’t the latest styles, but she has never needed that, she is happy in t-shirts and shorts. She has her best friends (Sarah and Sienna) and in her world, that is all she needs. That is until her first day of volleyball tryouts when she spots Reed Johnson and feels that emotion every girl has felt for the first time just to have him break her heart the same exact day.

Reed Johnson is also beginning his freshman year and has already been given the title of “star”. There are high hopes riding on his football abilities and everyone seems to be attaching themselves to the future local celebrity. Even though Nolan spotted him and had her heart flutter, his didn’t seem to do the same. In fact, while hanging out after practice, Nolan overhears Reed along with several other students, one of whom Nolan thought of as an acquaintance at the very least, talking about how Nolan looked like a boy. This changed the way Nolan began to see herself.

The first day of school rolls around and Nolan finds herself partnered up with Reed on a Science project. Surprising, working together works out well. They hit it off and the project is going is turning out better than anticipated. Even when Reed’s friends come over and hang out with them, Nolan keeps her “awkwardness” pulled back. That is until Tatum (the so-called acquaintance) shows up and Nolan realizes that Tatum and Reed are together. After silently confronting Reed about what was said about her that awful day of volleyball practice, Reed writes her a very sweet letter apologizing for his behavior and extending the olive branch for friendship. And boy is a friendship built. This should be a good foundation for you to start to build your imagination where this story is concerned. If I say anymore, I may wind up giving away some very valuable story line and where is the fun in that?

This really is a beautifully told story of a young lady trying to discover herself without losing who she is along the way. The way that Nolan was written will have you so connected that you will feel the emotions with her, her pain becomes your pain and her joy will have a smile on your face. You will fall in love with her instantly. There were times that Reed was a downright asshole, but I mean, isn’t that really expected for someone of that age? The thing is, you will love him. Yes, he will irritate you, but through it all you will see his true heart and intentions.

This book will span their high school years and the very, very, beginning of college. There are going to be some ups and some downs, like very down. Your emotions are going to go on a wild ride and you may find yourself wanting to stand up for Nolan from time to time. This book will definitely take you on a trip down memory lane. I don’t know many people who didn’t have a crush on someone who was “unattainable” and spent high school wondering “what if” and this book finally gives the happy ending to the one who deserves it.

The application of an anti-impotence drug viagra canada mastercard can work to redeem this disorder and can help man to come out of ED:-It’s affordable but temporary treatment for this malfunctioning as it doesn’t assure someone to fix this problem permanently.
I happened to come across this book after reading How We Deal With Gravity. I was so moved by that book, that I needed to read something else by Ginger Scott and this is what I picked, I couldn’t have been more pleased. Sometimes I feel that an author can get really wordy and it seems that they are just trying to fill space on a page (I don’t say this lightly, for the most part, I love everyone I read), but with Ginger Scott, she fills the pages so fantastically, I really wished that words would flow out of my mouth in the same way that she can put them on paper. I have now read 3 of her books and in every one of them she knows how to trap the reader and hold them captive. Also, so far in all 3 books there is focus on special needs, you know I really don’t like that term, so I am going to call them extraordinary people. In How We Deal. . . the focus is on Max, who happens to be Autistic, and she told his story beautifully. In this book, the focus will be on Nancy and Downs Syndrome and once again, written so well.

Another aspect to Ginger Scott’s writing that is so terrific is her character development. I mean ALL characters. While the focus in this book may be on Nolan and Reed, the supporting characters are so well written and whether it’s a character that you are supposed to dislike (Tatum) or a character that you fall in love with (Buck) they all enhance the story and help the emotions peel off of the page. I think that it is expected for a reader to fall in love with the H/h in books and sometimes the supporting cast becomes more of an afterthought, but not here. They do their job and because of it, you fall more in love with Nolan and Reed.

If you are hesitant to read because of the high school setting, please don’t be. This is a book that can be enjoyed by all readers. My fifteen year old is reading this book. In fact, I think it’s a great book to maybe use to start a discussion with your teen, there are many great lessons in this book (series, really) and what a great way to bond with your kiddo. My teen can’t read most of what I have, but this she can. Ginger Scott has done it again with this book and I am so happy that I have discovered this wonderful author. I hope that when an author puts their words to paper, that they know how thankful and how much appreciation the reader has for the story that they are telling. So I say to Ginger Scott, thank you.

Trashed (Stripped Series, Book #2) by Jasinda Wilder

Trashed (Stripped Series, Book #2)

I have actually really been anticipating this book and must say, was not disappointed at all. This book will focus on the relationship between Des Ross and Adam Trenton. The catch: Adam is a hot Hollywood star and Des is a college student making her way by picking up trash. The story is told through both POV’s. So, let’s not waste anymore time.

The story kicks off on Mackinac Island, Michigan. I must be honest and say that I have never heard of this place. But after visiting Google, I’ve now discovered that I am a little bit in love. It is very picturesque, which the ironic thing about this is, Des is a janitor here for the summer. Adam is on Mackinac Island for a gala fundraiser. She actually meets Adam when he notices her and leaves his carriage tour to meet her. She is very skeptical of his intentions and one of the things that I loved about her was she didn’t fall all over herself because of his “celebrityship” (I’m most certain that is not a word, but I think you understand). She does agree to dinner with him, but very soon into the date her past is catching up with her and she finds herself running.

Let’s talk about her past a little. Des grew up in the foster care system and to say she had it rough, would be putting it lightly. She is caught in a catch 22, because of how she grew up, she longs for feeling a part of a home and family, but because of how she grew up, she doesn’t trust easily, especially men. So for her, while she dreams about belonging, she realizes that it will probably only ever be a dream. Enter Adam.

While Adam is obviously attracted to Des, there something else he feels almost immediately, he just doesn’t know what it is, but he knows that he wants to pursue it. However, he is only on the island for 2 days, something she also realizes, so in her eyes what can really come of it. Well, because of a storm, Adams’s date for the fundraiser cancels and there is only one person he wants to fill the spot: Des. She agrees, not really realizing what she is agreeing to, but she is quickly exposed to the paparazzi and photographers at the event. She makes it through the fundraiser in one piece, barely, and they find themselves back in Adam’s hotel room. I should probably go ahead and tell you that Des is a virgin, a gift she is willing to give up to Adam. After spending the night together, intimately, it’s time for Adam to leave. At this point he really wants to pursue things further with Des, but he is unsure what she wants. And it’s not that she doesn’t want it, it’s just she is so unsure of the future, she’s not willing to risk it.

So at this point, they separate, months pass before they reconnect and a lot happens in between (you will have to read that for yourself). They’re going to get their HEA, but it is fun reading the process of getting there.

A man should consume this medication just before 30 minutes of medicine’s intake. brand levitra in usa Let them be levitra prescription cost who they are and how many university degrees they’ve got you are making a mistake. Americans spent in 2006 more than 100 billion dollars on purchasing goods cheap viagra without prescription over at this drugstore via Internet. However, the use of this Kamagra medicine does not in any way enhance or hamper cheap 25mg viagra a person’s sperm count. I didn’t really have many issues with this book. I mean, Des was a little frustrating at times, but once you discover her past, everything is really understood. A lot of times when books revolve around a celebrity falling for a “normal” person, as the reader, you’re sorta in disbelief when the “normal” person just doesn’t fall at the feet of the celebrity, but I appreciate the way this story was written. I think she was in awe of him, but she didn’t allow it to cloud herself from seeing the true person behind the celebrity. I do think though, if you are going to have an issue with this book, this is going to be it. I think some readers are going to question the believability of a celebrity falling for an average everyday person and fall hard. For me it would me more unbelievable for her to go all “fangirl” on him and he still want her. My one issue, she gives him her virginity, but he doesn’t realize it. I found that to be a little hard to believe. No blood whatsoever? Maybe it can happen, it was just hard for me to believe.

Wanna discuss the sex? For me, it was just warm. It wasn’t super scorching. Des does become somewhat sex crazed once they establish a relationship and it was written somewhat believable, it was just not very sizzling, I hate to use that word, but I’m just trying to translate what I’m thinking. I’ll just say, I spent time thinking of the logistics of their positions while reading the scenes and I’m sure that’s not what the author is hoping to achieve.

There wasn’t a whole lot to develop in terms of the supporting characters. There are supporting characters, there’s just not a lot of focus on them. The one’s that had some focus in the book are developed enough for you to enjoy the relationship they have with the main characters.

All in all, this is a good read. I enjoyed it. It was a quick read, which I really appreciate. I thought that the storyline was captivating enough to make it hard to put the book down. I recommend and I hope you enjoy.

Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers Series, Book #1)

So, I’m sitting  here (at 1:09 am) trying to come up with the best way for me to write this review. Usually words don’t escape me so much, but I am definitely tongue tied on this one. So, I’m just gonna go and see what fine words fly through my fingertips. Let me start by saying, this book is fucking hilarious. I’m not talking a chuckle here or a giggle there, if you are reading this book and are not actually laughing out loud, while discovering that this is in fact how friendships should be and how you should actually raise your kids, well shit, you may want to stop right there, because I’m not sure if this is the book for you.

This book features a lot of characters, but mainly focuses on Claire Morgan and Carter Ellis. The book is told through both POV’s and kicks off with Claire in college losing her treasured V card. Well, it’s more of a flashback to college. Liz is Claire’s BFF and is convinced that Claire needs to rid herself of her virginity and believes that a frat party is the best place to find her a prospect. Well,  she finds herself one alright, in the form of Carter Ellis. After bonding over beer pong and the movie “Heathers”, they decide to take the party upstairs and get down with the mission at hand. The problem: Carter has no idea that Claire is a virgin and Claire is really treating this as more of a necessity than pleasure and hightails it out of there the next morning without one name being exchanged. Weeks later, Claire finds herself pregnant and this revelation sends her packing back home to Butler, OH, with no college degree and no baby daddy.

Fast forward almost 5 years and Claire is the single mother to Gavin. I don’t think that there are enough adjectives to describe how fantastic Gavin is. He is a mouthy, funny, nut-punching 4 year old who holds his own with the grown-ups in this book. Over the years, Claire has thought about the night that gave her Gavin, but she pretty much knows that there is no way she will ever run into Carter again, she didn’t even get his name, for crying out loud. So, until she has the time and financial abilities to fulfill her dream of owning her own business with Liz, she is content working as a bartender in the local bar, playing games of P.O.R.N. with her co-workers and helping Liz out by selling her sex toys on the side. This of course is, until the night that Carter Ellis walks into the same bar.

Carter and his best friend Drew move to Butler, OH, relocating for work. Carter has given much thought to that night 5 years ago, but like Claire, has given up hope in ever finding out who the mystery girl was. In fact, he was in a long term relationship that he broke off prior to moving to Butler. She cheated on him, which turns out to be a really funny scene in the book, but he realized he was with her to try and forget about Claire, or as he remembers her, the girl who smells like chocolate. On one of his first nights in Butler, he finds himself drowning his sorrows in a shit ton of liquor when he sees Claire again for the first time.

Obviously, we knew they were going to run into each other again, the funny part is as much as he has pined for her over the last 5 years, he doesn’t even recognize her when he first sees her. She of course knows who he is right off of the bat, she does have his kid. Like I said, Carter and Drew relocate for their job at an auto plant, which so happens to be the same plant that Jim, Liz’s fiance works at. One story leads to another and Jim figures out who exactly Carter is and invites him and Drew over for dinner. Enter Claire, who just finished up at a sex toy party and walks into Jim and Liz’s house going on and on about vibrators and her inexperience (it’s actually very funny) none the wiser to who is sitting there listening. Carter does get around to asking Claire out on a date and not to ruin the story or anything, but Carter does eventually figure out who Claire is and discovers that he is the father of one foul mouthed 4 year old. He takes it all very well and one big happy family is born.

Claire and Liz’s dream of owning a business together becomes a reality and Seductions and Snacks is born. Claire sells the goodies (food goodies that is) and Liz sells the toys for the “goodies”. All kidding aside, it is actually a brilliant idea.

I can’t really spoil anything here, but I want to tell you to READ THIS DAMN BOOK. Tara Sivec did such an outstanding job writing this story and while the focus is on Carter and Claire, there is a ton of attention paid to the other characters in this book as well. It was a very difficult book to put down, and so I could write the review correctly, I reread the book, which makes it a total of 4 times read and I still couldn’t put it down. Fantastic read, fantastic series. You will not be disappointed. And somehow, I suspect when you’ve put this book down, you are gonna do some Google searches trying to find some of Drew’s t-shirts.

Uncaged (Corps Security Series Book #3.5) by Harper Sloan

Uncaged (Corps Security, Book #3.5)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Look, you know what I’m gonna say here. Even if you are a rebel (which I appreciate), DO NOT read this book without first reading Cage (book #2). Even if you don’t read any of the other books (why you would do that, I have no idea) you have to read Cage first or you just wasted your money on this book, because Uncaged is really a continuation of Cage. Okay, BXTCHES, you have been warned.

I know you are already head over heels for Greg Cage, right? Well, Holy hotness, the “Greg Love” is about to explode. I don’t know about you, but when I can witness any man fall even more in love because his wife/woman/girl is pregnant, it brings a smile so big to my face that my eyes will crinkle. So, you can add Mr. Cage to the book boyfriend list, because he is about make you melt.

This story is told through both Melissa and Greg’s POV. This book picks up around the end of Beck, with a couple of flashbacks thrown in. This is more of a novella, so it is a quick and very easy read. It focuses on the journey of the Cage family and their road to giving birth to twin girls.

With everything that has happened to the Corps Security family recently, they are definitely not taking tomorrow for granted anymore. They have decided to have a family dinner once a week and even include Sway, who has not only become part of the family, but has also got a new love in the form of David, who has taken Emmy’s place at Corps Security.  So, all in all, things are looking good for everyone and with twin girls on the way, things couldn’t be better in the Cage household.

Cohen is cuter than ever, in fact the things that come out of his mouth, will make him one of your favorites in this book. Example: “HA! Daddy has his wiener rings in! Daddy, your wiener is funny looking with Mommy’s earrings in there!”. His transition from his kidnapping and his Nana’s death, was very well written. In fact, I think that making sure that he always has his “angels” was very moving. His relationship with one very brooding Maddox Locke (he calls him by first and last name) will allow you to see a side to Maddox that is lacking in the other books. And when you read why Cohen has decided this, you will start to fall a little bit in love with Maddox Locke. We also see the relationship deepen between Greg and Cohen. They have really become a father/son duo without any setbacks and the love that Greg has for Cohen is inspiring, though, I’m sure you felt it in Cage.

Ok, so this wouldn’t be a true to form Corps Security book without any drama. Get your emotions ready and have your tissues handy, because when you get to about 45% in this book, you’re going to be right there with that whole family, holding your breath. I can’t give it away, you need to read what happens. I can tell you however, that to watch Greg go through what he is going to go through will definitely shoot him to the top of your list, if he wasn’t already there. You will see a new side to Maddox, which I think is setting us up for his book, which I think is going to be intense. The way that Cohen responds to the tragedy before him will penetrate to your heart. Harper Sloan did such a great job writing him, giving him such personality and character at such a young age. You will appreciate it.

Don’t want to leave out the goodies. There is sex in this book, this is the Corps Security, for crying out loud. As any pregnant woman has witnessed, pregnancy brings certain needs and with Melissa and Greg, I think those needs are on steroids. While the sex isn’t rampant, it’s there and it’s enjoyable.

The story will end well, don’t worry. It did include an epilogue from Cohen’s POV, 15 years later. Which is nice, because Harper Sloan is setting fans of this series up for the next generation of Corps Security.

Ten Year Crush by Toshia Slade

Ten Year CrushSometimes a crush can break you.
When Gabby Murphy landed in her brother’s best friend’s lap her whole world shifted.
But after years of watching Cam go through women her heart can’t take anymore. Now in college, she’s finally ready to get on with her life. Her new boyfriend is the perfect man to squash her craving for Cam. But her boyfriend has an addiction, an obsession that Gabby soon finds out he can’t let go.
Some cravings last forever.
When Camron Taylor received a thump to the head, he couldn’t help but adore Gabby. When she grows from cute kid to desirable woman his imagination goes to places it shouldn’t. Afraid of ruining friendships he pushes her away. Until something seems off with her new boyfriend.
The past isn’t always left there.
Cam is the savior she’s always needed. Gabby is the woman he’s always coveted. When past mistakes come back with a vengeance will their love be strong enough to fight it? Or will the past keep them apart?

This book tells the story of Gabby Murphy and Cameron (Cam) Taylor. Cam is the best friend of Gabby’s brother, Josh. They first meet at Gabby’s 11th birthday party when Cam comes to spend the night with Josh and that is when Gabby’s crush first develops. Fast forward 10 years and it’s the day of Gabby’s 21st birthday and she is getting ready to celebrate with Cam, Josh, and Tiffany (Gabby’s BFF) and here is where the story begins.

This story is told from both Gabby and Cam’s POV’s. Even though Gabby has harbored a crush on Cam for 10 years, she has never expressed this to him (though he knows) and Cam has also realized he is feeling something for Gabby that is more than a friendship, but this is only something he has realized in the last couple of months. Cam may recognize he has more than platonic feelings towards Gabby, he is also not willing to risk the friendship he has with Gabby or Josh, so he feels that is is best that he ignores whatever feelings he has. While the four of them are out celebrating Gabby’s birthday, Cam gets extremely jealous when Gabby starts dancing with another male. Cam takes her from the club and in the middle of the parking lot an argument ensues. It is during this argument that Cam confesses his feeling to Gabby, but stabs the knife right through her heart when he tells her that he will not jeopardize his friendships and pursue a relationship with Gabby. Gabby is clearly heartbroken, but moves on by dating Brandon (the guy from the club).

I will say at this point, drama will fly in this book. It is a love story, so I don’t think that I am spoiling anything when I say that of course, Gabby and Cam wind up together in the end. It’s the process of getting there that comprises this book.

People are busy in their lives and there is rx viagra always a need to provide support and upgrades for it. Testosterone supplements are believed to offer different benefits including weight loss, cialis pills uk hair growth and optimum energy levels. Ashwaganda powder is useful for treating anxiety, arthritis, insomnia, tumors, tuberculosis, backaches, bronchitis, hiccups, liver disease and so tadalafil canadian on. I really wanted to love this book. In fact, I think that the actual storyline is a very good one, it just wasn’t very well written (in my opinion) and here are my issues: The story is told from both POV’s, which I love. I enjoy being able to get into the mind of both the H and h. In the case of this book, I will say that the author did better telling the story from Cam’s POV (but only slightly). The inner dialogue of Gabby was very frustrating to read. So much of it was unnecessary, that it seemed that the author was just filling space. So because of this, I really wasn’t too fond of Gabby. Also, there are some issues with Gabby’s relationship with Brandon. Usually if the end result of a relationship is bad (in this case, very bad), there is at least some foreshadowing. Truth be told, Brandon was a pretty decent guy, until BAM, he wasn’t. Like, he went from good boyfriend to douche canoe very quickly. Nothing was amiss in their relationship until they go out one night and he begins to disappear a lot. Her inner dialogue questions this as being very strange behavior, but she never really digs in, she just accepts his answer of the “beer going straight through him”. This is also the same time that Cam kisses Gabby. I get there needs to be drama, I enjoy drama in a book. However, in this book, the drama seems to be compacted in areas. Everything seems to go straight to shit at the same time. Now, another issue is the relationship between Tiffany and Josh. I will say, the author did a very job with these characters. It is clearly obvious at the start of this book, that Josh and Tiffany have a “thing” for one another, and that theme runs throughout the majority of this book, to the point that you think they will be hooking up. But NOTHING comes from it. There is even a point where Gabby recognizes that something is not quite right with Tiffany and even expresses that she needs to spend some quality girl time with her. But it doesn’t develop, you never know what was wrong with Tiffany (and she was a character that I liked), it was almost like the author forgot to tie up those loose ends. Josh is very protective of Gabby (his only sibling) to the point of punching Cam a few time is defense of Gabby. And this happens, even though Josh knows Cam’s true feelings towards Gabby. Here’s where that protective older brother vibe didn’t click for me. A Halloween party is happening, and Brandon shows up (as Gabby’s date). Something goes down and Cam and Brandon get into an altercation. During this altercation, which is being witnessed by all, Brandon calls Gabby some very ugly names, but Josh does nothing. He doesn’t jump and get a few punches in, in fact, when Gabby slaps Brandon across the face (which was very well deserved) Josh pulls her off of him. Very strange. It didn’t vibe with the character traits that were already established.

As a side note, if the sex was written better, the book would be a little better. I didn’t think that they were hot at all. Maybe my mind is dirtier than most (although I don’t think so), but the scenes had potential, just came across as very amateur.

So, as you can see I do have many issues with this book. I really wanted to see where the relationship between Josh and Tiffany went, which even if there is a follow up to this book, I don’t think I will be able to read it. I did give the book 3 stars, because I think that the story is a great idea, it just wasn’t well executed. There is an epilogue and they do get their HEA, it’s just so frustrating when the book could have been so much better. So, really I don’t recommend. But if you chose to go down the road, know what you’re getting.

Sweet Possession (Sweet Addiction Book #2) by J. Daniels

Sweet Possession (Sweet Addiction Series)Sweet Possession (Sweet Addiction Series)Synopsis TagSweet Possession (Sweet Addiction Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Sweet Possession (Sweet Addiction Series, Book #1) by J. Daniels

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Sweet Addiction (SA) SHOULD be read prior to Sweet Possession (SP). Sweet Possession is a continuation of Sweet Addiction, so reading SA first is a requirement, not a suggestion. You will not enjoy SP if you don’t know the backstory and then you might give it a bad review, then people won’t read SP and that would be shameful, because it deserves to be read and thoroughly enjoyed. So please don’t be “that” person, just read SA first.

This is a fantastic follow-up to Sweet Addiction. This story is still told through the POV of Dylan (with the exception of the epilogue). It continues almost where SA left off, just months separating the two books. As you know, when we last were with Reese and Dylan, a proposal happened and wedding bells were going to be ringing. This book will take you through the planning of the nuptials (with two very pushy mothers) as well as the bachelor/bachelorette parties and all the drama that happens along the way.

There really isn’t a lot to give away, but I will leave some of it a mystery. Reese and Dylan are as lovable as ever in SP, the only difference is, Reese’s possessive side does come out more in this book. It doesn’t really make him any less fantastic, but for me it was more annoying at times than it was hot, alpha like. But, no fears, he was still scorching as ever. We do get a greater glimpse of Brooke in this book and I really enjoyed reading her character develop. She was a little irritating to me in SA, so it was nice to see her start to fit into the threesome of Juls, Joey, and Dylan really well. I would actually like to read a “Brooke Story”. She isn’t very successful in love in this book and has a really unfortunate oral sex mishap, that is actually very funny, so it would be good to see her fall in love, since everyone else has found theirs.

There is some drama in this book, that at times was a little mysterious. It came together towards the end, in a way that I was actually not expecting, so it was good to be surprised and not be able to figure out the angle the book is headed towards. This book of course focuses on the upcoming nuptials of Dylan and Reese, but we will catch up with Juls and Ian and Joey and “Goddamn it” Billy. You will not be disappointed in the direction that those relationships have taken. Still laugh out loud funny and sexy as hell.

Many women have cheap viagra on sale at drugstore also undergone normal pregnancy after MRgFUS procedure. Speaking of sexy, there isn’t as much sex in this book as there was in SA, but the sex is still on point (way to go J Daniels). Reese’s dominant side comes out more in the sex scenes in this book, which is always hot. She did good again, her bed must be on fire.

This is a very quick and easy read (248 pages). I don’t know if there is going to be a book #3, I sure hope so, I can really see this series extending a little longer AND with such great characters, I would love to revisit them. Fantastic series, I loved it, I recommend it, I hope you enjoy it.

****UPDATE: There is a book #3 (YAY!) Sweet Obsession is the next book in this series and is not available.****

Sweet Addiction (Sweet Addiction Series, Book #1) by J. Daniels

Sweet Addiction (Sweet Addiction Series)Sweet Addiction (Sweet Addiction Series)Synopsis TagSweet Addiction (Sweet Addiction Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Sweet Addiction (Sweet Addiction Series, Book #1) by J. Daniels

I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK! First, look at that cover, I would’ve been so disappointed if this book sucked, with a cover like that. This book takes no time jumping off. There’s not the usual several chapters to get a feel of the book, this book starts off fantastic and ends even better. Here’s the truth. I just so happened to come across this book while “window shopping” on Amazon, AND, as I am writing this review, I get on Amazon and what do I see. . .THERE’S A BOOK #2, HOLY CRAP. I have been trying to curb my book buying as of late, so I can write reviews on the books that I have read (like this one), so I suppose that is why I had NO IDEA there was a book #2. Look, some people have shoe buying obsessions, I just so happen to wear a size 12, so a shoe buying obsession is not really possible. I just have a book buying obsession and I am trying to slow it down some. I did however buy this book. OK, enough about all that, let’s talk about this book.

This book is told through the POV of Dylan Sparks (love that name for a girl) and it kicks off with her attending the wedding of her ex. I know that sounds strange, but her BFF Juls is the wedding planner for said wedding and Dylan, a baker, is the one who created the wedding cake. Her goal at this wedding: slutty, hot, wedding sex. Well, she meets her goal alright. She literally falls into the lap of one sexy Reese Carroll and sparks fly. They do wind up hooking up in the men’s restroom at the wedding of her ex.

Both Dylan and Reese agree to keep their relationship “monogamously casual”. The only problem is, Dylan has only been with one other guy (a**hole ex), and really is worried about getting attached to “Mr. Monogamously Casual”.

I can’t really tell too much of the story without giving too much away, so I won’t. So let me tell you what I can without reading the book to you. First, the characters in this book rock. Dylan has two BFF’s, Juls and Joey. Juls is the wedding planner and Joey is Dylan’s assistant. The chemistry between the three of them is laugh out loud funny and very believable. This could have been a book that focused on Juls relationship with Ian or even Joey’s relationship with Billy, and been just as good as the focus of Dylan and Reese. Ms. Daniels did a great job in this book with developing all of the supporting characters and tying up any loose ends with the ones that kind of fade into the background.

This is straight up a love story and with that, of course, comes the main drama that will test the relationship of the H/h. This one comes with that drama as well, but I think that the thing Ms. Daniels did so well with the required drama, is she made it believable. Most females in Dylan’s position, would have reacted almost the same way.
Kamagra’s low cost and high effectiveness has made the medicine lovable for millions of ED men around the professional viagra world. While most women don’t feel any symptoms with the uterine tumors, in some cases these fibroids can cause excessive menstrual bleeding scientifically known ordering viagra online as menorrhagia, uterine bleeding, abnormal periods, pain, frequent urination, discomfort, and infertility. Increased Job Opportunities With the increasing popularity of the Internet and they are successfully marketing that medicine. generic cheap cialis So, visit my pharmacy viagra online purchase they are of the same genre.
Ooohh, let’s talk about the sex. It was hot. Every bit of it. I’m starting to think that some of these authors are watching some really good porn or their beds are on fire, and Ms. Daniels must be one of those authors. Sometimes the sex in some books make you kind of think, “Has this author even had sex?”, oh no, not here. She kept it spicy, she kept it hot (um yeah, those are two different kinds of heat), well, she kept it f*cking fantastic!

All in all, LOVED THIS BOOK, cannot wait to read the second one. I am a huge fan of funny romance that can actually make you laugh out loud. Read this book, really, it does not disappoint.
