Sacked (A Gridiron Novel, Book #1) by Jen Frederick

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: What I should really say is, “BXTCHES need to tell the truth”, but why mess with a good thing. But here’s the truth nonetheless, I wasn’t going to read this book. It has come across my social feeds over the last several months and while the cover (see above) is definitely mouth watering, after reading the blurb, I didn’t think I would enjoy it. Right there is says that Knox Masters is a virgin and as sexist and hypocritical as it sounds, that did not appeal to me. Needless to say, I was wrong. Enough said, let’s get on with it.

Sacked will be told through both the POV of Knox and Ellie.

Eliot Campbell (Ellie) has just transferred to Western State and while out running, finds herself at Union Stadium, home of the Western State Warriors. Knox Masters is the captain of those Warriors and while getting in some preseason workouts, something at the top of the stands catches his eye, that something. . .Eliot Campbell. Prepared to kick out what he thinks is a football groupie, he is suddenly captivated by the girl with the scar on her knee. After a little conversation and some slip n’ slide, Knox is finding himself needing to know a bit more about the girl whose name he still does not know.

Ellie finds herself at Western for her brother, Jack. Jack is the newest recruit to the football team and after spending his first two years at a junior college, he has high hopes for his future. The problem is Jack has a potential learning disability. I say potential because he refuses to be tested to determine whether or not this is the case. Ellie, at the demand of her mother, has been helping Jack since she was 12 years old. Now that they have both transferred to Western, their mom is at it again, giving Ellie an ultimatum regarding two of Jack’s classes. Either she signs up for those classes and helps Jack or she is cut off financially.  The moral dilemma for Ellie. . .Jack has no idea that she has helped him previously or is planning on helping him currently and the last thing that she wants to do is put him in jeopardy of losing his eligibility because he fails OR put in jeopardy of losing his eligibility because Ellie is caught cheating, so she’s definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Knox has been 100% focused on football since he can remember. So much so that he has even foregone sex, as in, he has never indulged at all (oral or intercourse), as in, he is a virgin. Yes, you read that right, a virgin (I know I mentioned it earlier, but I’m still like, “whoa a virgin”). And for someone who has never partaken in the typical collegiate extracurriculars, Knox feels that he will recognize The One when she comes along.

How does Knox know that Ellie is The One? First, her knowledge of football is incomparable and super sexy. Second, she is able to tell him and his identical twin brother (Ty), who also happens to be a football player, apart. Even in pictures that has tricked their mom, she knows instantly which one is Knox. Now, Knox just needs to convince Ellie that they could certainly have something special with one another and convince Ty that she is his other half.
Therefore you should start exploring this solution to avail its beneficial impacts. lowest price viagra These are usually mild and do not last longer than a couple of canadian viagra sales icks.org hours. In order to successfully achieve this, one needs to avoid processed viagra online canada and canned food items in their diet. Symptoms of COPD can be very distressing and the known symptoms of the disease include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness and production no prescription levitra of a high degree of mucus.
It’s not gonna be an easy road for Knox and Ellie and while it’s pretty easy to see what’s coming before the book gets there, knowing will not make it any less dramatic. And since their relationship does seem somewhat easy going in the beginning, you know something climatic is going to have to occur, just to give the jolt one needs, love never comes easy, right? But no worries BXTCHES, it’s the kind of drama that may have you putting the book down so you can take a couple of deep breaths before jumping right back in, so in other words, the fan-fucking-tastic kind of drama.

I think with most books that take place in a college setting, the supporting cast needs to play a pivotal role. Sacked is no different. From the football team to Ellie’s roommate to Ellie’s brother and assbag parents, they all play a role that adds the layer which turns a good book into a great book. Personally, as much as I enjoy the developing relationship between a h/H, I really enjoy the relationships the h/H have outside of each other, and Jen Frederick does a really awesome job of that in Sacked. I think she also sets you up well for the follow-up book, Jock Blocked, which is going to be Matty’s story.

As you already know, I was skeptical to read a book that featured a very Alpha male, who happened to be a virgin. I didn’t know if it could be pulled off and be hot, while believable. I was wrong, I was dead wrong. Knox having sex for the first time was pretty fucking hot. Knox going down on Ellie for his first time ever, while asking her if he was doing it right, yeah, the clothes just melted off at that point. Knox’s very first blow job, well you get the point. While my original belief may have been a bit assholeish, I am not too proud to say that I was in fact the asshole and will never doubt Jen Frederick again if/when she decides to make her hero a virgin. Please accept my apologies.

I’m quite mad at myself for not reading Sacked way back when it first came across my social media. All that did was delay my gratification. Since I’ve been on a sports kick lately, this book was right up my fantasy alley and Jen Frederick does a really phenomenal job of putting that fantasy right at the tips of my fingers.

This was a pretty fantastic read and I must say, I’m looking quite forward to the next book in the Gridiron series. Give Sacked a shot, the table may very well turn when you find yourself longing for a virgin.Bxtches Be ReadingBook Review.4Favorite Quotes TagSacked (A Gridiron Novel, Book #1) by Jen Frederick | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

The Score (Off-Campus Series, Book #3) by Elle Kennedy

ARC Disclaimer

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: First things first, this is Dean’s story and his love interest is not Sabrina. Get over it, you will be fine with Allie (trust a BXTCH). Now that that is out of the way, let me go ahead and tell you BXTCHES that yes, you probably can read The Score as a stand alone and really enjoy it. As usual, I object to that particular way of enjoying a series. This is a great ensemble cast and while each book focuses on a certain couple, the ensemble is a big part of what makes up each book. That is my rant, it is now over.

The Score will focus on Dean and Allie and be told through both POV’s.

If you were wise and read this series in order, then hopefully you remember Allie. She is Hannah’s (from The Deal) BFF and as of the beginning of this book, the ex-girlfriend of Sean. The problem with the “ex” part is, Allie and Sean have broken up before and always get back together, but this time, Allie knows that the break-up needs to stick and in order for that to happen, she needs to be where Sean can’t find her. Enter Hannah. She is going out of town with Garrett, Logan, and Grace, but has kindly offered up the boys’ place as the retreat that Allie needs. The only people that will be at the house with Allie are Tuck and Dean, and Logan is going to give a warning call to ensure that Allie will be safe at the House of Hockey Hotness.

Dean Heyward-Di Laurentis, the hockey star with the cock that never sleeps. I certainly don’t need to refresh your memory on this one do I? Okay, I will give a wee one. Dean is the resident manwhore, who makes no apologies for where he sticks it or who he sticks it in (and he seems to enjoy doing it everywhere, except his bed). His only rule. . .freshmen are off limits. Something about #clingyness. Imagine his delightful surprise when Allie shows up at his doorstep right while he is about to become the meat in a threesome sandwich.  Well, nothing really seems to faze Dean and while he may be upset that his meat has just been removed from said sandwich, he’s pretty good with rolling with whatever and is about to enjoy a chick flick with Allie. I mean c’mon, threesome vs. chick flick. . .no contest, right? Let me get right to it, after some tequila, lots of it, Allie finds herself waking up naked in Dean’s bed and as you can guess, their bodies became very intimate with one another. No worries, I’m not spoiling anything, the deed happens once you’re about 10% into the book.

Even though Dean is usually a “hit and quit it” type of man, he is having a very difficult time getting Allie out of his head or his fantasies. While Allie did thoroughly enjoy her romp in the sack with Dean, she is not a “friends with benefits” type of girl. She needs the stability of commitment and she also understands what having a sex only relationship with Dean could mean to their mutual friends.

This expands cgmp inside pneumonic vascular smooth muscle cells, bringing about unwinding. viagra in canada Skipping stressfulness or coping the condition with help of meditative practice seem to be a good way to lead a healthy marital relationship, especially discount generic viagra for men with chronic erectile disorder. But scientists can apply better while treating the various disease if can figure out the impact of the enzyme PDE5. levitra discounts Exercise Daily Regular exercise levitra samples free not only restores one’s stamina, but it also adds to the sex life of male beings. Allie is still trying her best to avoid all things Sean, because while she knows it’s best for her and him to remain apart, she also knows that if she gives him the time of day, she will drop quicker than a house of cards. So, she takes Dean’s advise and really tries to live her life a bit more carefree and without following so many rules and soon finds out that she is really enjoying the new Allie.

Surely you’ve read enough of this series to know the formula and realize that Dean and Allie will happen, but the fun of the story is the journey that The Score will take you on and trust this BXTCH when she says that it is certainly a journey you will enjoy.

Your favorites will be returning here and there is just enough to add a wonderful underside to The Score. Not to mention there is a lot with Dean and Allie separately that is not only going to add terrific depth to the book, but also give the reader a lot of understanding into who Dean is. Even though Allie isn’t a constant presence in the previous books, I think you will enjoy who she truly is as Allie and not just as Allie and Dean.

Now to the good stuff. The sex in The Score is phenomenal, almost has me thinking about becoming a fan of ice sports. I think we knew that Dean was going to be spectacular while working over a woman’s body, but I must say that I was really impressed with what Allie brought between the sheets. There’s a bit of everything here: dirty talk, which is always a plus, but dirty talk done well is like having a great soundtrack and this one may be grammy worthy.  The passion that Allie and Dean give is frenzied and out of control. Garrett was good and Logan did his thing well, but they have nothing on Dirty Dean. I gotta say, the first two books certainly laid down a good story for Dean and The Score definitely lived up to that reputation.

I know, I know, there is so much not covered, but covering it would somewhat spoil it for you, and I’m not willing to do that. Just believe in the story telling skills of Elle Kennedy and in the greatness that is The Off-Campus series and you will not be disappointed. The Score offers everything a great book should. It’s funny, it has drama, it’s sexy, it’s funny (I know I already said that, but it bears repeating), it’s gonna make you smile, it might make you a bit sad in some places, did I say funny? On a side note: look at that fuckin’ cover, how could you not want to open that book up?

I think that it’s safe to say as a fan of this series and as a female, that I would be terribly upset if I wasn’t reading Tuck’s story next. The Score is going to end with setting you up perfectly for that story to be told and this BXTCH cannot wait!

The Shortstop by A.M. Madden

Here’s the truth BXTCHES: When I first came across The Shortstop , I was super excited. I read the reviews, I downloaded the sample, then I didn’t buy. Here was my dilemma. I knew once I started this book, a couple of things were going to happen. #1: This book was going to tear at my heart and drag me through some serious agony BEFORE it gave me what I wanted. #2: I knew once I started this book, there was no just “putting it down” (isn’t it crazy when people tell you things like that?), I bought this book on a Tuesday evening, I was finished by around 12:30 midnight (same evening). Sleep, what in the hell is that when you’re cuddled up with a really good read?

The Shortstop will be told through both Annie and Quint’s POV’s.

Annie Weber and Quint Lawson has known one another most of their lives. They grew up next door to each other, their parents are best friends, so it only stood to reason that when the time came, they would fall in love. And they did.

Next to having Annie as his wife, Quint’s only dream in life is to play shortstop in the majors. They are both set to graduate and Quint’s prospects at making his dream come true is looking more and more like a reality. In fact, he just received news that he’s been picked up to play for the minor league team of the Baltimore Orioles. The only thing left to do now, is to make the girl he’s been in love with more years than not, his wife. They are actually headed to Disney to celebrate graduation from college and Quint has the perfect proposal set up. The girl of his dreams has said YES, the job of his dreams is within reach, what in the world could go wrong? **this is not a spoiler, it actually happens in chapter 4, which is about 10% into the book.

Let’s backtrack just a bit. Annie’s BFF is Daphne. She is almost the opposite to what Annie is. She’s more carefree, more spontaneous, can’t really commit to her current boyfriend Billy, which happens to be Quint’s best bud. Billy is in love with Daphne, Daphne isn’t too sure how she feels, she knows she likes him a bunch, just not sure of the “L” word. Daphne and Billy’s problems seem to always involve Annie and Quint in one way or another. Annie is really just trying to play matchmaker, even though Quint insists that she stay out of it and Quint just does what any guy would do, he’s there if Billy needs him, otherwise he keeps out of it. Even though Daphne is Annie’s BFF, she is going to cause problems for Annie and Quint down the road and add to an already broken situation.

Even though Annie is standing by her man and even though she realizes that all of his dreams are coming true, she can’t help but wonder, where she will fit in, what about her dreams. Her dream of being a teacher may have to be put on hold, so Quint can live his. Annie does eventually come to the conclusion that everything that happens is for a reason and her love for Quint is much stronger and bigger than her wanting to teach, so she makes the decision to stand by him, so he can have everything he’s ever wanted.

When Quint gets the call that the Yankees are interested, that’s it, everything he has ever wanted is starting to come into focus. They buy out his contract with the Orioles and before he knows it, he is on the field at Yankee Stadium. He has his girl, he has his dream of playing for the Yankees, everything is right within his grasp, that is until is torn from his hands.
In northern free viagra no prescription India prevalence of obesity stands at 33.4% in urban women and 50% urban women above 35 have unhealthy body shapes. There are a lot of cialis prices chemically produced medicines in the market for repairing the erectile dysfunction. So waste no time and get the viagra delivery canada drug and lose belly fat. The demand for these medicines is increasing viagra canada price irrespective of the side effects.
When Quint get injured, the type of injury that is almost impossible to come back from, his whole world goes dark. Unfortunately, Annie is starting to wonder if baseball was the only thing that made him happy. Quint is beginning to realize that he is not able to be the man that he needs to be for Annie and it would be best for her to walk away. Now, he knows that she isn’t going to take that walk voluntarily, so he becomes the biggest of assholes, in the hopes of pushing her away.

This is where The Shortstop is going to start the agonizing process of ripping your heart out, just to put it back together. The author does a really good job here in making it to where you have some sympathy for Quint, even though you want to BXTCH slap him in the process, and you have a little pride for Annie when she finally stands up for herself and decides not to be anyone’s punching bag anymore, even if it means that Quint can’t be hers. Quint and Annie are going to have to endure a lot of pain and drama, which includes the Daphne situation I mentioned earlier, in order to get to the other side and the conclusion that they are truly each other’s soul mate. This is one of the first times I’ve read a book and was unsure of the outcome. Even though going in I was pretty certain of a HEA, as the end of The Shortstop started coming into focus, I really thought that maybe this author was going throw the reader for a loop and not allow the couple to get their fairy tale. I also must say, that the baseball storyline didn’t play out as I thought it would. This isn’t a good thing or a bad thing, it was just my own prediction didn’t come to fruition.

The Shortstop has a terrific secondary cast of characters. There isn’t a lot of them, but they pack a very powerful punch. Dare I say it? You may cuss me out after I proclaim this next statement, but here goes. . .even after what Daphne puts them through (which I’m sure you can guess), I kind of felt bad for her. Usually in that type of storyline, I’m all about calling a bitch a bitch, but in this case, my heart hurt for her. Although, I do think with the Daphne and Billy storyline, she was a bitch, though we find out why later in the book. The Shortstop was that book that needed these characters to really tie together the whole story. I don’t say that because I think that something is lacking here, I say it because that’s how in depth this book is.

Is there lots of sex here? Yes. What did I think about it? Well, I thought is was well written and I thought that some of it was steamy enough, I just didn’t get all crazy about it. The author said the right things and made both Quint and Annie sexy enough for the scenes, it just felt like a panty-ripping element was missing. That’s just my opinion, you may read it and feel the need to drop your jaw and curl your toes, more power to you girl.

All in all, The Shortstop was a fantastic book. I happen to love agonizing, tortuous books like this. Usually it takes me more than a minute to finish the book, I think I was so quick here because I was holding onto it for such a long time, that when the time came to actually read it, it was impossible to put down. It takes some talent to write a character that you know at some point during the book, the reader is going to have contempt for, but then be able to turn around and really force the reader to open up their hearts and find love for them. That’s what happens here with Quint, you will realize very quickly that there is a really thin line between love and hate and the definition isn’t always so crystal clear.

Ryker: A Cold Fury Hockey Novel (Cold Fury Hockey Series, Book #4) by Sawyer Bennett

Ryker (Cold Fury #4) review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

Ryker (Cold Fury Hockey Series, Book #4) by Sawyer Bennett | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comRyker (Cold Fury Hockey Series, Book #4) by Sawyer Bennett | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comSynopsis TagRyker (Cold Fury #4) review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comBXTCHES Gotta Warn: Since I originally read this series out of order and having said that, I only read books #3, 4, and 5. . .I am now rereading the entire series, in order and I have made it back to Ryker and his book. I can now say with confidence that you should read this series in the order in which they written. Characters from previous books continue to make appearances and we also get introductions to future characters. Reading in order really helps keep the balance of the series.

Ryker will be told through both Ryker and Gray’s POV.

Ryker was introduced to us during Zack’s book and not only did we get introduced, but we also got a small foundation of his story. His wife, Hensley, had an affair with a teammate (not Cold Fury), a nineteen year old teammate, which led to some hands being thrown, which led to Ryker being picked up by the Cold Fury. We also learned that not only did Ryker and Hensley have two daughters (Violet and Ruby), but Hensley decided that she wanted to travel with her new love and because of this, she wanted Ryker to take the girls. This happenstance is what led him to hire Kate. None of this spoils this book, it was all revealed during book #3 (Zack).

Ryker kicks off (somewhat) with the Cold Fury introducing their new GM. Gray Brannon. The daughter of Brian Brannon, who happens to own the organization. While this may seem like a cut and dry case of nepotism, Gray has earned her spot. She’s 31 years old, an ivy league graduate, a two-time Olympic medalist (hockey, of course) and previously held the title of head scout. She also has some very innovative ways to manage a hockey team (think Moneyball, just on ice). Her and Ryker hit it off from the get go and it’s not much longer after that, that their relationship is taken to a new and really an inappropriate level.

Credentials aside, clearly you can see the issues with a 31 year old female GM, who also happens to be the daughter of the owner. Add in the way she is wanting to steer the team and problems will ensue and we haven’t even got to the Ryker issue yet and all that takes is a little bit of yoga.

So, the main back and forth in this book is surrounding Gray really having an issue with being in love/lust with a player and the implications that will come with that where her job is concerned. She is well aware of the fact of how important and historical her position is and she’s even more cognizant of what could happen if news of their relationship were to get out. For Ryker, he is quite respectful of the need to keep their relationship under wraps, but things do become a bit difficult when Hensley makes a more permanent appearance in Ryker’s life. The dilemma is really an age old one for women, what will she choose, love or her love for her career? One would think that it’s not really fair for her to have to make a choice and I think you actually may be surprised at how it all comes together in the end.

Generalized Anxiety http://cute-n-tiny.com/cute-animals/pups-on-a-line/ sildenafil generic india Disorder Treatment Children with excessive worry and fear characterized by physical symptoms. Since we were introduced to Ryker during Zack’s story and a friendship developed, Zack appears in this story, along with Alex and Garrett. Given the position that Gray carries in this book and her crucial desire to be respected for her abilities, their are several different relationships working with her at the same time and really add a fundamental layer to the overall flavor of Ryker. There’s the relationship between her and her father, which is a very strong, mutually respectful one. There’s also her dynamic with Frank, the assistant GM, who believes that he should really be the one in her shoes and has a difficult time accepting that she is his boss and while he may be an asshole, their relationship becomes a pretty important one. Of course, there’s the relationship between GM and the team. And obviously, there is the relationship between her and Ryker. Ryker the hockey player AND Ryker the man.

Ahhh, the sex between a hockey player and really anyone, however in this case we’re talking about Gray and it’s everything you’d expect it to be. Lots of passion? Check. Lots of orgasms? Check. Lots of dirty talk? Check. The inability to keep your body parts to yourself? Check. So, in a nutshell, it’s what it should be. Dirty, hot, panty ripping, and pleasure inducing fun.

I love the way that the author characterized Gray in this book. She made her a very strong, fierce woman who makes no apologies for her ambition and going after what it is she wants. She knows how talented and smart she is. On the other hand with Ryker, he was written in a very idea way. He is a loving father who realizes how important it is to be present for his daughters; he was someone who could admit his wrong doings where his marriage failed, even though he wasn’t the one who cheated; he was really understanding of the need Gray has to keep their relationship under wraps and even going out of his way to allow her to have it all, the man and the job. The sexual compatibility between Ryker and Gray was on point. What I’m really trying to say is, it’s going to be really difficult to not fall in love with who Ryker and Gray are.

Zack: A Cold Fury Hockey NovelZack (Cold Fury Hockey Series, Book #3) by Sawyer Bennett | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comSynopsis TagZack: A Cold Fury Hockey NovelBxtches Be Blogging Book ReviewsBXTCHES Gotta Warn: So, I actually read this book out of order. When I came across this book, back in 2015, I dived in without any thought to the first two in the series. And while I read it without too much confusion, I have recently read the first two books (Alex) and (Garrett) and realize that while the book stood well on its own, it would’ve flowed better in order.

This book will be told through the POV’s of both Zack and Kate.

I’m gonna kick this off with Zack, mainly because this is really his journey. It was during Garrett’s story that Zack’s world was rocked when he and his longtime girlfriend (and mother of his child) was involved in a car accident that took her life. This book is going to begin about 4 months after that accident. Being the driver of the vehicle and only escaping with a broken wrist, Zack is living with a ton of guilt. Now it’s time for Zack to get back on the ice and in order for that happen, he’s gonna have to hire a nanny for his three year old son, Ben. Enter Kate.

Kate Francis is a twenty-three year old recent college graduate trying to pay her way through grad school. She is a huge hockey fan and couldn’t be more thrilled about being hired to be the nanny for Ben. The problem is Zack isn’t actually the one who hires Kate, his sister Delaney did. So, upon meeting, Zack is very close to firing Kate based on the initial impression alone. . .and by that, I mean her appearance. But Kate is definitely a go-getter who is going to say whatever is on her mind and that skill allows her to talk her way out of being fired.

I’m sure you could put together the fact that Kate’s appearance is not one that usually gets a double take. She wears clothes that are sizes too big, her hair is always pinned back, and her glasses are almost bigger than her face. So, one would think that because of this, there is no concern that temptation is going to be lurking between her and Zack, well on Zack’s end anyway and this is actually something Zack is somewhat grateful for. That is, until Zack catches her one night sending up a prayer of thanks for Ben & Jerry, wearing nothing but her very curve loving PJ’s. And I think you and I both know where this is headed.

Now that the image has been planted, Zack has dirty on the mind and since it shouldn’t be any sort of secret that a relationship is going to develop between Zack and Kate, it’s safe to tell you that with lust on both ends, they both decide to forge ahead with a sexual relationship. Zack knows mentally, he is in no place to push past and try to achieve something other than sexual encounters. And as assholey as it sounds, the sexual connection is really what he needs to help him push through the grief. So, that’s the jest of the development of their relationship. Zack is honest about what he has to offer and Kate agrees that if it gets too much for her feelings, then she will bow out.

While each book will be promoted as “part of a series” or “can be read as a standalone”, let’s just all agree that it should be read as part of a series and even though I haven’t read the entire series yet, it has the makings of an ensemble series. With everything Zack is going through, the support of his teammates is pretty paramount and that happens to include Alex/Sutton and Garrett/Olivia, they all are back for this one and we also get introduced to Ryker, who happens to be the leading man in book #4. Only time will tell if this series will turn into a full blown ensemble, but I’m definitely enjoying the updates from previous couples.

Let’s get to the dirty. The sex in this book was almost therapy. . .a necessity. The sexual tension here is almost as hot as the sex, even after the sex occurs, the sexual tension was a constant blanket. It encouraged the wanting. I personally thought a lot of the sex between Zack and Kate was more of a need for him and a want for her. Until it became something Zack started to crave because of Kate and not because of his need to escape.
ED linked to Vitamin D deficiency was present in 35% of men, compared to 29 without repeated penile failure issue. This pharmacy on line levitra These favorable conditions make your junior ready to perform the act. tadalafil pills The list not ends buy levitra uk here. Doctors suggested orden 50mg viagra only branded drugs before but they are wrong.
I really enjoyed Sutton and Olivia. Thought that they were both very well written. I fucking loved Kate. She didn’t have the greatest upbringing in life, but she is someone who always looks at the bright side. She is hilariously written, super witty, and recognizes her limits with Zack. She stands very well on her won two feet, even when she has to come toe to toe with Zack. But her capacity to love unapologetically and forgive with her whole heart is what makes her the best person for Zack and Ben.

As easy as it would be to become frustrated with Zack, it was somewhat difficult to. There were moments that I thought he emerged from the scene as “The #1 Asshole”, but I also think that during those moments, Kate holds her own. With the story being told from Zack’s POV as well, you do grow to sympathize, because knowing how his true feelings are regarding the death of Gina, you’re almost forced to cut the man some slack.

Sawyer Bennett does a really good job of connecting her audience to a character that really doesn’t exist, except in the memory of Zack, and that’s Gina. Even though we have met her in the previous books, she doesn’t have the presence there that she does here. I think given the circumstances, the author could’ve went an easier route by making Gina somewhat of a bitch, but she didn’t. She made her likable and put the burden on Zack to figure out a way to overcome his grief. She was able to write it to where even Kate had admiration and respect for Gina, so as the reader, you had no choice but to like her.

We’re on a good roll. They seem to just keep getting better and better. Zack is my favorite (as of now), I just felt overall it was a really well told story of loss and love and trying to figure out how to deal with grief and guilt. The circumstances surrounding Zack calls for a lot emotion. Kate balances that out by just being her. Every part of this book comes together in a way that will leave a smile on your face when the last page is turned.

Push the Envelope (Blythe College Series, Book #1)

It’s been awhile since I read this book and truth be told, I was really just looking for an old book to re-read, just for the sake of reviewing, so I chose this one. Now, it’s not a terrible book, it’s just not as good as I thought it was. But, all that aside, let’s get to it.

Our female lead here is Alexa and the book is told through her POV. She is a twenty year old college junior at Blythe College, who also happens to be training for a pilot’s license. Her father owns a private charter company and that’s where her love for flying comes from. In an effort to help pay for college expense, Alexa comes up with a “Mile High Tour”, which allows for couples to book a plane and score one for the mile high club, which if I’m being honest, is a brilliant idea. Alexa has had only one relationship in her past and it did not end well, which of course, makes her somewhat sketchy towards men now. Aubrey is Alexa’s BFF and has been since kindergarten. She is the wild to Alexa’s calm, the stiletto to Alexa’s flat.

Drake has recently transferred to Blythe College to play Rugby (which is pretty hot). He happens to be a member of the same fraternity as Aubrey’s older brother, Jackson, who also happens to be like a brother to Alexa. He has actually already had his eyes on Alexa after spotting her around campus, but just hasn’t had the opportunity to speak with her yet. Alexa first spots Drake at a frat party she was dragged to by Aubrey.

When she first spots Drake, he seems to be in a heated discussion with what looks like an ex or current girlfriend, Sasha. Now, this is a book where love comes quite quickly, so of course, Drake also spots Alexa and since he has had his eye on her for a little while now, he’s not pleased when he sees she is with Jackson. Alexa and Drake run into each other again the next morning at the grocery store and once Drake realizes who she is, he once again turns cold. But, long story short, his dad actually has hired Alexa’s dad to fly Drake home for the weekend, Alexa gets to co-pilot and once Drake is brought up to speed about Jackson, which is he and Alexa are like brother and sister, Drake stakes his claim. Hence, their relationship kicking off.

So this is the point where the relationship just really grows, they get to know each other, very typical college romance ideas. Now, the reason I mentioned Sasha earlier is because she is going to try and cause problems. Her mom and Drake’s mom are BFF’s and Sasha has it in her mind that her and Drake belong together. Sasha is going to create some pretty serious drama by putting a little bird in Drake’s ear. My issue with the drama that she creates is this, I feel that the way Drake reacts to the whole situation was slightly ridiculous and almost unforgivable.

Medical studies have shown discount viagra that half of all male who are suffering diabetes also suffering from Erectile Dysfunction. For the supporting cast of characters here, I didn’t think it was much. There is Aubrey, which I like the element she brings to Alexa’s life, the complete opposite to what Alexa is, and it works in the whole “friendship balance”. There is also Jackson, who is most certainly the big brother type for Alexa, I also think there are other feeling there on his side, but we’ll have to read his book to decide if that’s the case or not. Alexa’s dad is a pretty big presence in her life, but other than those characters, there wasn’t a real strong layer of an outside cast.

I guess this is about the time we talk about the sex. Usually sex scenes don’t make me uncomfortable, I’m all about the dirtier the better. I enjoy a filthy mouth in the bedroom, however, in this scenario, I wasn’t feeling it. I’m on board with the hotness that is Drake and the cuteness that is Alexa, I just really wanted to skip past all the sex, which is highly unusual for me. But, to each his own, you may get all tingly inside when you come across the scenes.

All in all, I didn’t hate this book. I enjoyed the story line, I thought that the premise was a good one. The dialogue was a bit campy for me, maybe just out of my age range. I think if we could’ve gotten Drake’s POV as well, it would’ve added another dimension to the book, maybe “alphaed” it up a bit. I’m not giving this an absolute “no”, I just think that maybe before reading, you read several reviews and see what readers liked and disliked about the book and make your decision from there. Good news, right now this book is actually free on Amazon (6/10/15-Kindle version).

Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: The Deal is the first book in the Off Campus series and it definitely does it job by kicking things off perfectly with Garrett and Hannah. This series will features four roommate hockey players. . .Garrett, Logan, Dean, and Tucker and of course the women that will sweep them off of their feet. My personal opinion is that you should certainly read these books in the order in which they were written.

The Deal will be told from the POV’s of both Garrett and Hannah.

Let’s begin with our wonderfully written female lead, Hannah. She is a music major at Briar University, in her junior year. And if it weren’t for her ability to ace her Ethics class, Hannah and Garrett may never have been, though I like to sometimes believe in fate and that BXTCH would’ve figured out how to get them together. Anyhow, Hannah happens to be one of the very few (emphasis on few) students who is doing exceptionally well in this Ethics class and Garrett is one of the very many (emphasis on many) who isn’t. Garrett happens to have a lot riding on this particular class, namely his hockey. When he catches a glimpse at Hannah’s most recent test grade, he realizes that she may be the answer he’s looking for and propositions her to be his tutor. Unfortunately, Hannah shuts that down quick. No worries for Garrett, he’s willing to do almost anything to get use of her brain.

Everyone has a price apparently and Hannah’s comes in the form of the wide receiver for the football team. Hannah has been crushing on Justin for a hot minute and once Garrett picks up on this at a party, he realizes that Justin could be his ticket to finally getting Hannah to tutor him.

As all tutoring relationships between the hockey superstore and the super smart girl goes. . .friendships develop and Hannah and Garrett are no different. And even though (as the reader) you know a romantic relationship is going to develop, the friendship that Hannah and Garrett develop prior was so much fun to watch unfold.
It connects your upper body http://appalachianmagazine.com/advertise/ cialis pfizer achat and back to your hips and legs. Vitamin B3 is an effective skin lightening ingredient that succeeds by inhibiting melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes, lacking of reducing tyrosinase activity or cell proliferation. cialis from canada Reduced testosterone reduces the blood flow sildenafil wholesale to the genitals, especially the penile tissue, therefore making it possible to achieve strong and long erections. Clearing ones bladder is very news buy cialis soft important.
Both Hannah and Garrett have some pretty heavy demons in their lives that are somewhat holding them down and/or back and as their friendship begins to develop, they become what the other needs to fight through their pain. They also are able to become a shoulder for the other when college life becomes typical college life and you need a good sounding board to vent to. This is all before penises and vaginas even meet.

We are getting introduced to lots of people in this book and most of those introductions are gonna set you up for subsequent books and relationships. Since this is a hockey romance, it makes since that one of the secondary storylines in The Deal is in fact, hockey. And Hannah’s love of music doesn’t get left behind, she has her own storyline where music is the focus. While it’s expected to fall in love with the relationship that develops between Hanna and Garrett, it’s also the relationship between Garrett and his roommates/teammates and the relationship that Hannah is also able to develop with Garrett’s friends that is going to draw you in and keep you captivated. The supporting cast is really gonna round out this story and give it the layers it needs to complete The Deal and lead you right into The Mistake

I’ve read this entire series several times, with my last go round being in 2021 (which is when I happen to be updating this) and each time I go in I’m quickly reminded how wonderfully written this book really is. This is a college romance with every necessary box checked. Hannah is strong and fierce. She’s vulnerable when the situation calls for it, while maintaining her loyalty and her humor. She is the perfect person to fall in love with. Garrett is the perfect compliment to Hannah. Forget being the peanut butter to someone’s jelly. . .strive to be the Hannah to someone’s Garrett.
