Pucked Up (The Pucked Series, Book #2) by Helena Hunting

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: When you go to “one-click” this book (you will, trust), it’s going to say “STANDALONE ROMANTIC COMEDY”. The romantic comedy part is spot on, it’s the standalone part that I wish to discuss with you BXTCHES today. Normally, if I feel that a book, that happens to be part of a series, can be read as a standalone, I will share that with you. This book cannot, let me enlighten you. This book is going to feature Miller (Buck), who happens to be the step-brother to Violet, who happens to be the focus of the first book, Pucked. Now, Violet and Buck have a chemistry that you do not want to miss any of, and that chemistry goes back to the first book. I know, I know, that sounds like it’s not a good enough reason, again, trust a BXTCH. 2 The other half of Pucked Up is Sunny, who happens to be Alex Waters’ sister, who happens to be the other half of Pucked. You get how this kinda comes around full circle? So, in order to understand the issues that are instantly between Buck and Alex, not to mention the references to Pucked that are scattered all throughout this book, it’s easier to just read book #1 first. It won’t be a chore, the book is fan-fucking-tablous! Trust.

Pucked Up will be told SOLELY through Miller’s (Buck) POV. **In Pucked, we were introduced to Buck Butterson, whose real name is Miller. Sunny refers to him as Miller in this book, so that is how I’m going to refer to him. Cool?

When we left Miller behind in Pucked, we knew he was beginning to get somewhat involved with Sunny (Alex’s sister). Of course, at first, it was hard to determine whether he was just working Sunny to get back at Alex (for Violet) or if Miller is truly interested in pursuing his chances with Sunny. We learn almost from go in Pucked Up, which way he’s headed and he is actually falling for Sunny, for real.

The other thing that Miller learns pretty early on. . .his past is truly a BXTCH and is coming back with a vengeance to haunt him. The main culprit is going to be social media and unfortunately for him, he can’t control how pictures with bunnies/fans get spun. Also unfortunately for him, is the fact that Alex and Lily (Sunny’s BFF) are not Team Miller, so every time a unsavory picture shows up of Miller on social media, it adds more fuel to their hate fire and Sunny is a bit inexperienced and allowing others to dictate how she should feel, which most of the time seems to equal disaster for Miller.

A couple of things we learn about Miller in Pucked Up. . .first, he’s dyslexic. Which affects his ability to do the simple things people do everyday, like text. It’s also something he doesn’t discuss much and not a whole lot of people know about. He’s also very private about his philanthropic ways. The reason I mention both of those things is because they become an important part of dissecting Miller.
The problem if incapability is critical because it does generika tadalafil 20mg http://cute-n-tiny.com/tag/squirrel/ not seems like disease in starting. Clomid stimulates the ovaries to produce mature eggs. generic tadalafil cheap http://cute-n-tiny.com/cute-animals/baby-lapa/ So, consume this capsule to stop erectile dysfunction permanently. find out that drugstore pharmacy viagra Take the Medication Half an Hour before Intercourse Sildenafil tablets should normally be used about half an hour viagra no prescription http://cute-n-tiny.com/cute-animals/top-10-cutest-axolotl-mudkip-pics/ after consumption.
The main chunk of this story is Miller and Sunny figuring out a way to navigate the beginnings of a relationship with all of the scrutiny that is going to come with it because of who Miller is, which is a professional hockey player (just in case you decided to be a little rebel and not read the first book or maybe you’re not good with word association and wasn’t able to gather that from the title of the book). Now, I’m sure it would be difficult enough if it was just Miller the hockey player, but it’s Miller the “hockey player manwhore” who loves his hockey hookers. It’s also Miller who lives/works in Chicago and Sunny who is based in Canada. It’s having a brother and a BFF who isn’t even willing to allow the word chance to enter their vocabulary. It’s friends who are more interested in partying, which is having the wrong effect on your reputation. So, there is a lot of factors that are determined to see to it that Miller + Sunny ≠ HEA.

The supporting characters in Pucked Up deliver. I was so happy that Violet is featured often. I LOVED her so much in Pucked and the relationship between her and Miller is a bit more developed in Pucked Up, you certainly can feel the love they have for one another, and none of the humor is lost between them. We’re also going to be introduced (he did get a mention in book #1) to Randy “Balls” Ballistic, which is good, since he is the basis for book #3. This story of Miller and Sunny was fantastic, but the whole of the story is so wonderful because the cast of characters that Helena Hunting creates are so amazing, it’s too easy to play the imaginary movie in your head as you read. And just in case you thought that Alex’s MC wasn’t going to make an appearance. . .he does, well it’s the Superhero MC that actually does, but both great nonetheless.

I swear, one day when I’m getting the business, I’m going to see if I can run a play by play in my head, just to see how sexy and realistic it would sound if it were on paper. When you read a lot and you happen to read a lot of sexy times in books, it sometimes goes the way of “What? Is what they’re doing even possible or am I not reading it right?” OR it could go “Who is having sex with this author? Clearly no one because the imagination is failing this scene” OR, most of the time my thoughts are “Shit, I need to get a pen and pad and get down to taking notes or maybe I can just have my husband read and see if this is doable”. No worries, Helena Hunting is either getting the business GOOOOOD or her imagination hasn’t failed her a bit. If it’s the latter, she is going to make someone very happy one day. Even though this is a comedy, the sex is still on fire. Even when it’s going wrong, it’s pretty tingly. You shall not be disappointed, yes that was a command, sometimes the BXTCH can be bossy.

I love Alex and Violet. I liked Buck (he was Buck in Pucked) in the first book, I just didn’t love him, so I was somewhat afraid that it would carry into this book. And here’s the truth, while I had every intention of reading this book, the catalyst for speeding up Pucked Up was actually Pucked Over, the third book of this series. I recently received the ARC for that book and I didn’t think it was fair to the author or readers if I didn’t read this one first and I am so glad I made that decision. I absolutely fell in love with Miller in this book, maybe even more than Alex. Because this book is solely from the POV of Miller, it allows you to embrace all of him and all of him is wonderfully written. This is really becoming one of my favorite sports series and I don’t even watch hockey, crazy, right? Maybe I should become a fan. Bxtches Be Reading5 Star Read for Bxtches Be ReadingFavorite Quotes TagPucked Up (Pucked Series, Book #2) by Helena Hunting | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: First, this is my second read of Pucked. As usual, I procrastinated long enough in getting to the review, that my brain needed a refresher. Second, you may want to read this in a place where laughing out loud isn’t frowned upon, because if you have any sense of humor AT ALL, it will be hard to control your laughter while enjoying Violet and Alex. Also, it should be noted that you don’t need to have a love for hockey or even an understanding of the sport to really get into Pucked. This is book #1 in the Pucked series and it should go without saying, though I’ll say it anyway, this is the starting point. . .so if you’re wanting to get the best from this series, go in order.

Pucked will be told through the POV’s of Violet and Alex.

Let me first give you a bit of a rundown: Violet is a twenty-two year old accountant who is currently living in the pool house on her parents property. Well, it’s actually her mom and step-dad, but same thing. Buck is Violet’s step-brother, a hockey player, and has just been traded back home to the Chicago Blackhawks. Violet has recently sworn off all hockey players, declaring them whores, her step-brother being the biggest of them all, after a bad experience with one. After being persuaded by her mom to catch a flight to Atlanta to support Buck in one of his first games as a Hawk, Violet lays eyes on Alex Waters.

Alex and Violet meet at the after game party where what starts out as some great back and forth banter ends with lots of mouth fucking. Being intrigued by Violet, Alex heads up to her suite in an effort to get to know her a bit better. Not only is she sharing a suite with her parents, but she also locks herself out when she steps into the hallway with Alex, which then opens the door (literally) to his suite. While his intentions may have been gentlemanly, once Violet gets a small taste of Alex, she wants it all, especially his MC (monster cock).

Excess worrying: One of cheap viagra the prime symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder is excessive worrying for a relationship. Eggs: It is one of the best and most effective treatment for men who suffer cialis 20 mg from erectile dysfunction today. In cases of more serious vision problems when taking erectile dysfunction medication, it is important to discontinue usage and seek immediate medical why not try this out cialis levitra generico help. 3. After a night of scorching sex, Violet isn’t really expecting Alex to confess his love for her and become exclusive. There’s lots of rumors about Alex and all the things he does with his monster cock. In fact, if rumors are to be believed, Alex and Buck are running a pretty tight race in the man whore department. Once Alex begins to pursue Violet, by first asking her boobs out on a date, she is starting to become convinced that he may be the real deal.

Once things pick up, their relationship definitely starts to bloom and become exclusive. They of course run into several problems. #1: Buck having issues with a teammate hooking up with his sister. Buck doesn’t really know Alex all that well, so his only point of reference is the “Whore” stories that he as heard. #2: Alex’s agent. Alex is really working towards his life post hockey and that includes certain endorsement deals. His agent, aptly named Dick, thinks that him having a permanent woman at his side is going to screw those plans up. So, while Pucked may be a comedy first, that doesn’t mean there isn’t going to be any drama.

The supporting cast of characters in Pucked are fantastic. They are very well developed and add almost as much to the story as the main characters (calm down, I said almost). In some books, the secondary characters are almost an afterthought, but in Pucked, they are very integrated into the importance of the story of Alex and Violet.

The sex is as toe curling as the story is humorous, I don’t really know if that makes sense, so let me make it clearer, the bed is certainly on fire here. It makes me want to take hockey a bit more serious. I just wish I knew where it is that some of these authors get their inspiration, because there aren’t too many acrobatics here, it’s just straight fucking, but it’s thigh clenching to say the least. Helena Hunting’s website tagline is “Stories to get in bed with”, she is not wrong. Alex = YUM!

Pucked had me laughing out loud. Violet is so well written, you kind of want to be her BFF and I really fell for Alex, he falters a bit, but he is so adorably sexy, you can’t help but add him to the “Book Boyfriend List”. This is a series that I’m super excited about and even though the next in the series is Buck’s story, I hope that Alex and Violet are integrated into the story. Having said that, I do think that the second book will have me developing a soft spot for Buck.

Third Base (The Boys of Summer Series, Book #1)

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Okay, so Third Base is tagged as a stand alone and since it is book #1 in this series there is no reason for me not to believe it. What I can tell you with certainty is this, Third Base DOES NOT end with a cliffhanger (YAY!) and there is a HEA.

I hope what I’m about to tell you makes you super excited (as it did me), Third Base is told ENTIRELY from the POV of Ethan. I love it when an entire book is told from the male perspective, switches it up some.

Ethan Davenport is the hot, young, third baseman for the Boston Renegades (really AKA. . .Boston Red Sox). He has the world really at his fingertips. He’s talented, rich, good looking, and can have any woman he wants. I mean, he is Boston’s most eligible bachelor after all. However, he has his beautiful eyes set on a young woman who happens to sit behind the visitors dugout every home game, actually he’s been watching her for about a year. Not really knowing how to go about meeting her, he bites the bullet and has an usher escort her to the player’s lounge.

Well, her name is Daisy and she is a journalism student at the University of Boston and the seat(s) that she sits in every home game just so happens to be her and her grandfather’s season tickets. Daisy is a lifelong Renegades fan. She has also had somewhat of a crappy life hand dealt to her. She lost her parents in a car accident when she was young and was left in the care of her grandparents. Having recently lost her grandmother, it’s now just her and her granddad, but because of his health, it’s just her attending the games.

While things are going great for Ethan, the one thorn in his side is the BoRe Blogger. Not only does the blogger post about the games, which are actually usually spot on, but there are also posts regarding the “gossip” of the team and this is where Ethan has his problems with the blogger. First, I should tell you that Ethan hasn’t always made the best decision when it comes to social media. He did tweet his address once, but he also doesn’t like the tabloid feel that the blogger puts out there. The GM of the team is requiring Ethan to attend media training at the University so he can acquire the skills he needs to speak to the media.

The relationship between Ethan and Daisy is somewhat rocky at best, at least in the beginning. Daisy is pretty closed off. Some of it has to do with her current situation. She is the caretaker for her grandfather and money is very tight, so that kind of plays into her shyness. She is also a virgin, which hinders her desire to initiate intimacy with Ethan (at first anyway). I think the biggest question mark for Daisy is the rumors regarding Ethan and his “player” ways. When it gets brought up, Daisy brings up the blog and in doing so, their first fight ensues.

It’s quite obvious Ethan is having feelings for Daisy, which is new territory for him. I mean, he has had a girlfriend, in fact, his high school girlfriend (Sarah) still lives in Seattle (his hometown) and is his booty call whenever he is in town. But, the feelings that he is having toward Daisy are different than the ones he had for Sarah, add to that the ups and downs he’s experiencing with their relationship, and his head is a mess. It doesn’t help that the Renegades aren’t playing too well and the BoRe blogger is constantly posting rumors surrounding the team.
This is also called the “non-proprietary name”.For example, sildenafil is the generic name of a medicine under the brand name of Himalaya Herbals as Confido. cialis stores As a result of this pressure, some of the men have issues in getting or maintaining a stiffer penile for a viagra tadalafil longer time of lovemaking session. discount levitra One can make use of this pill to enjoy the service at their doorstep. This way, the breakdown of cycle GMP does not take place, which in turn, further results in rocklike erections that viagra samples no prescription long last, really last.
This is really the gist of the story. The author does a really good job of developing the relationship between Daisy and Ethan. Ethan was really easy to fall for, especially since Third Base is his story. Even when you get frustrated with him, which is mainly because he’s being a little dramatic for the situation, you still find that soft spot. Daisy was a little more difficult to embrace. I sort of think that may have been the intention. She is definitely a closed off type of character, but once she opens up, it’s easy to see why one would fall for her. The only problem is, it takes the majority of the book for her to open up. One thing I did love about her was her ability to admit when she was in the wrong and step up and apologize. There is a secret that Daisy is harboring and it’s not too difficult to figure it out, but since it’s not revealed until the back half of the book, I can’t reveal it here. It will turn out to be a secret that could ruin Ethan and Daisy.

The supporting characters here are really well developed. My guess is subsequent books are going to surround Ethan’s teammates and I am certainly looking forward to that. I really enjoyed Ethan’s family as well, I though that they brought a realness to Ethan and I thought Sarah was going to be written as more of a villain, but she was very likable and someone really good for Ethan. Looking back on Third Base, it was really Ethan’s story. Not that Daisy wasn’t an important part of it, it’s just it was a story about Ethan and Daisy as well as Ethan and baseball and I loved that.

Daisy may be a virgin when the story begins, but she isn’t by the time the last page is read. The sex in Third Base was done really well. I didn’t think it was panty melting hot, but is was very passionate, has the right amount of dirtiness and enough to make your toes curl. So, what I’m trying to say is, you’re not gonna be disappointed.

This is a great start to a series. It certainly left me wanting for more from the Boston Renegades. I think it offered the right amount of angst with humor and the right amount of lust with love. It was a quick and light hearted read. This BXTCH certainly recommends.

Resisting Ryann (Bad Boy Reformed Series, Book #2) by Alyssa Rae Taylor

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Okay, BXTCHES, if you read book #1 (Raising Ryann) then you know that you were left on a cliffhanger. If you haven’t yet read that book, then you now know that it left us all hanging. You should know what I’m gonna say next. Yes, that’s right, YOU MUST FIRST READ BOOK #1, BEFORE YOU TAKE ON RESISTING RYANN. You will be very confused if you do not heed my warning. Hell, I read the first book and even I was somewhat bewildered with this one.

Like book #1, Resisting Ryann will be told through both Luke and Reese’s POV.

When Raising Ryann left us, we didn’t know much of what was going on. What we did know was this: After Reese finds a letter that basically leads her to believe that Luke is headed to Brazil to fight again, Luke goes with it and lets her believe that, that is in fact what is going on. As the reader, we know that it’s not the truth, even though we’re not sure what the actual truth is. What we do know is not only is Reese’s father, Andrew, involved, but so is Luke’s dad, Glenn.

So, I’m gonna give you a rundown, but I’m also most likely going to really confuse you. All I will say is hang on tight, it is a weird”ish” ride.

From the very beginning of Resisting Ryann, we know that Luke is working with his father, who is all the way illegal. If you remember from the first book, you know that Luke does not have a good relationship with his dad. In fact, even to say that their relationship is broken, is being kind. Now, we also find out pretty early on that Luke is working almost undercover, while keeping in contact with Reese’s father. I say almost undercover because not only is Luke not any part of law enforcement, but Reese’s father is no longer involved in law enforcement (he was at one time). Of course, Glenn has no idea that Luke is working behind his back, while he may very well be suspicious, he’s not convinced.

This time without Luke is very difficult for Reese. Because of a letter she has received from Luke, she believes that they are over and she has begun to seek a friendship with Sean, the neighbor. It’s tough for Reese because Luke is the first one she’s loved and it doesn’t help that her mom has moved across the country and her BFF/roommate is in love with Luke’s best friend. All around a very heartbreaking time for Reese.
If it is frequent, you need to visit the expert because they can only suggest you which of generic viagra for sale the herbal coffee. While the men’s formula is very popular in tadalafil 100mg Canada. There would hardly viagra without be a doctor who would ask you to opt for a surgery instead of going for a medical treatment. buy viagra in uk ED is a condition in which a man is unable to actively conduct the process of medication.
That’s it, that’s all I can give you. Mainly because I wouldn’t even know how to put the majority of this book into words. It’s hard to really understand what is going on with Luke’s dad. You know he’s working with him, but the why’s behind it are a little convoluted. Obviously, they are on the wrong side of the law, but I never really understood why his dad needed him in particular. But that may be a question that is answered in the final book. As a reader it was frustrating. I personally prefer (for the most part) for a book to be told from both POV’s, and in Resisting Ryann, it was necessary. But knowing both perspectives sometimes made you want to scream. Especially because of the hurt that both Reese and Luke were suffering from.

The secondary cast definitely added more than Raising Ryann did. The characters that are involved with Luke’s dad can be baffling, but only because there is no introduction, they are just there, so you just have to go with it. In Raising Ryann, the focus was on Luke and Reese’s foundation, not so much the characters that surround them, in Resisting Ryann, it’s more important to lean on the supporting cast because for the majority of the book, Luke and Reese are separated. But overall, the addition and focus on the extra characters definitely will keep the reader engaged.

Ahhh, the sex. Once again, it’s really all about the sexual tension that the author brings to Resisting Ryann. Reese was a virgin when we left her in book #1 and SPOILER ALERT: she will be a virgin when you leave her here as well. Even though there is not actual intercourse happening here, there is a little sexual action and it is very well done. What it really is doing, is hiking up the anticipation level for when they finally give into one another, because let’s face, it must be coming, right?

Now, as strange as this book was, it kept me turning the page. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did Raising Ryann and I think that I will enjoy Breaking Ryann (book #3) more. But of course, Resisting Ryann is a necessary evil of sorts. It’s the glue that will put the pieces of the puzzle together, well, at least I hope so.

Raising Ryann (Bad Boy Reformed Series, Book #1) by Alyssa Rae Taylor

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: I actually read this book for the first time back in 2013, so this was a re-read for me. I enjoyed it back then and I must say, that I did enjoy the second time around. This book will leave you on a cliffhanger, but no worries, book #2 has long been out so you can continue where this one leaves off. But for those of you who detest books that leave you on a cliffhanger, I’m not too sure what to say. Is the read worth the hang? Yes. But, I will leave it up to you.

This book will be told through the POV’s of both Luke and Reese.

Raising Ryann will begin 6 years earlier and I’m just going to cut to it because it’s somewhat confusing. Luke lives across the street from Reese and there is a 5 year age difference between the two of them. Now, Luke is actually living with foster parents, Pam and Jim, and this is his second time to be placed in their home. Reese lives with her mom, her parents are divorced because of her abusive father. Raising Ryann kicks off with Reese being dropped off at home where her mother’s boyfriend is. A boyfriend who happens to creep the hell out of Reese. While I’m sure you can guess what happens next, I’ll go ahead an lay it out for you. The boyfriend attacks and attempts to rape Reese, who is only 14 at the time. Luke is across the street, hears her screams, and saves her.

Fast forward 6 years and Luke is a MMA fighter and Reese is a college student teaching self-defense classes at a gym owned by Pam and Jim (Luke’s foster parents). All is going well for Reese. She lives on her own, albeit in a crappy apartment, but it’s hers, she loves teaching self-defense to young girls, she has a wonderful BFF, Gia, she just hasn’t been bitten by the love bug yet. Luke is getting ready to retire from fighting and has agreed to join the team in the gym ran by his foster parents. He of course knows who Reese is and that she works at the gym, once she sets her eyes on him, she senses familiarity, she just can’t place him.

In the beginning, Luke refers to Reese as “kid”, which doesn’t necessarily set well with her, especially since Luke is the first member of the opposite sex that has ever made the loins quiver. With a little help from Gia, Reese ditches the baggy clothes and dons outfits a bit more curve hugging, which does the trick with Luke. They spark a friendship and Luke continues his obligatory protectiveness over Reese. Of course, once she figures out who she is, it takes a bit for her to come around and accept Luke’s protectiveness.

It’s going to take a while for Luke to succumb to the way that he is feeling for Reese. And it shouldn’t be any secret that he and Reese get together and make a go at having a relationship.

I did enjoy this story. In fact, I think that Luke and Reese have wonderful chemistry. The difficult thing about Raising Ryann is this, since it’s a book that will be continued, it leaves a lot of unanswered and even confusing issues, which sometimes makes for a more complicated story than I’m sure is intended. Having said that, I do believe it’s worth the read.

The supporting cast in Raising Ryann are good, and while they are a necessity to the story, they’re not going to leave you with a lot of “ooh, I wonder what happened to. . .?” So, while they add a particular layer to a somewhat complicated story, they are not as intense as you would find in some books, but Luke and Reese come with their own intenseness, so it may not be required.

I know what you’re thinking, a hot MMA fighter, a woman who has gone through a lot, to only come out on the other side stronger. The sex between the two must be setting the sheets on fire. Well, you would be wrong. The only sexual happenings in Raising Ryann, is the tension. Now, having said that, I can say with certainty, that the tension is strong and the tension is thick. Reese has yet to turn in her V-Card, which is the culprit leading the tension charge and with hope, she will be changing her sexual status at some point during this series in what is promising to be quite explosive.

Raising Ryann is a good book, but like I mentioned there are a lot of unanswered questions that may affect its appeal. I have read the second book (although I am about to re-read) and from what I can remember, the unanswered question issue doesn’t really get solved. But, the book is well written, Luke and Reese have tremendous chemistry and they have some depth to them. This BXTCH thinks that this read is worth it and says to go for it.

Are You the Wife or the Mistress?

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: So here we are, finishing up week 3 of the NFL season, at least as I write this we are. Now, in case I confuse you at some point during my tirade and you start believing that I’m some sort of a NFL expert, I’m not. I’m actually not even close. Opinionated? Yes, yes I am. But when you start throwing stats and probabilities and whose the best at their position, my eyes may actually glaze over. However, I don’t really think my opinions need to be at the expert level for this post.

One may be confused by the title of this particular post. And I apologize if you came hear to read an article on cheating spouses and those who love them and those who cheat with them. That’s not where I’m going with this. But we can certainly make comparisons between sports fans and spouses who are loyal and ones who aren’t so much.

So, I ask you, are you the wife or the mistress? Are you the loyal, going to stick by your team in the face of adversity no matter the cost OR are you just in it for yourself, looking for whatever you can get, not caring about the broken hearts left in your wake?

You know, I live in Texas. Well, you probably didn’t know, but there you have it. And not just Texas, I live in the heart of Cowboy country, Dallas Cowboy country to be exact. Growing up, I loved the Cowboys. In fact, me and a certain Danny White were supposed to be married by now (of course, that was after my marriage to Randy Owen failed). On a side note, I recently Google’d Mr. Danny White, and realize that I’m good with the husband I have. I can even admit that I was a Cowboy fan into my twenties. I’m not sure what happened. I did marry a Saints fan, which if I’m honest could be the reason for the switch, but who knows, I don’t really care too much for good ole’ Jerry, even though I do sometimes secretly root for them to do well. But anyways, let’s get back to my question: “Are you the Wife or the Mistress?”.

I recently had an epiphany. After trolling on Facebook seeing the posts about how your favorite team sucks and how some of you would do a much better job coaching than the ones that currently sport the headsets (I’m paraphrasing there, but c’mon, y’all know you’re thinking it), here’s what I want to say to you: Chill Out! It’s been 2, maybe 3 games, either you’re going to be the loyal wife, whose loyal even when the hubby is having difficulty getting it up and you’re not getting your happy ending OR you’re going to be the mistress, the one whose okay with moving onto the next big dick because he’s the hot one at the moment and getting off is more important than building a relationship. And I know the pain of starting off bad, I live with a Saints fan, who has always remained loyal to New Orleans (I stress on the ALWAYS), and having to hear the complaints and gripes about the Saints from my husband is enough to make you wanna slap somebody. Not metaphorically either, but a real good BXTCH slap!

Here’s the truth: I am not that whiny wife who hates sports. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. I love watching sports, it allows me to spend time with my husband and we get to debate the many things that are wrong with sports these days. And for someone who is so opinionated and somewhat stubborn, arguing is cathartic. I may not understand them all, but I can watch an entire game of some sort and enjoy it. And, probably because of my husband, I love the Mavericks, I NEVER watched basketball prior to him being in my life. I LOVE the Texas Rangers, but that credit goes to my job of working at the Ballpark in Arlington years ago and I was even moved to tears when the Saints won the Superbowl, on behalf of my husband of course. See, I get you.

But with football season kicking off, I have realized something. The relationship one has with their favorite sports team is almost equivalent to being married and remaining loyal or being in a bad relationship with a crazy bitch. Let’s examine:

The beginning of the season starts (usually football) and all is good. There’s hope that every Thursday, Sunday, and/or Monday, your team is going to put out and a happy ending will be putting you to sleep. After the first game, your team loses, there’s a little anger, it’s just ONE night. . .umm, I mean loss, but it’s not really any different than having a headache, it just wasn’t your night. Even though after that one loss, you come to the conclusion that you will not be receiving ANY happy endings for the rest of the season. It’s done, your dick might as well fall off. This, only after one headache. . .sorry, loss. But you realize you’re being a tad bit dramatic, there’s always next week. The next opportunity comes around and DAMMIT, another loss. Now you’re starting to get pissed. What do they not understand? Do they not get your needs? Fuck, it’s almost like they can’t even hear you screaming at the TV, it’s actually unfathomable. But you go to sleep, not well, you are without your happy ending after all. You do manage to get some sleep only to wake up to the insensitive dickheads over at Sportscenter, who insist on nagging you by giving a play by play analysis on why you are not scoring and your team is obviously not receiving this message, from you or Sportscenter.

The next week: SCORE. They win and your body is relieved of the pent up stress from the last couple of weeks. HALLELUJAH, happy ending. In the meantime, your friends and family are constantly on you about how you’re wasting your time on your team. They insist on “setting you up” with their favorite team, it’s a sure thing they say. They heckle and wonder if your happy ending is even good when you do get it? Is it worth going through the pain, heartache, and fighting that you do with your team? Now you’re friends and family have pissed you off. You’ve been with this team since you were a kid, through the good and bad and what does that say about you as a man if you just up and leave them when times are tough. You love them after all. They insist you find another team to give your happiness to. But what they don’t get is this, when it’s good, it’s earth shattering, ROCKS YOUR WORLD good. It’s just when it’s bad, hell actually moves. You start to think that maybe your friends are right, every week you get your hopes up just to find out that Sunday was not your day, again. Your friends still don’t understand, but since they get their happy ending consistently what do they know?

And that’s levitra 60 mg why it is awesome to have the best ED medicines as it is cheaper compared to many other medicines that are available in the market but gives the same results as that of generic Kamagra. Taking the medicine with medical guidance avoid the risks cialis without prescriptions of being affected by some unwanted side-effects. They know exactly how to pose in viagra sales canada front of anyone. Bringing back the physiological equilibrium in your body through levitra 20mg generika a process known as oxidative phosphorylation. Holy shit, your team has won several weeks in a row, you have not ever been so happy or relaxed. You’re on Facebook, telling all the haters how wrong they were. You knew your team loved you, it was just taking them a while to come around. Not only are you scoring regularly with your team, but you can see the “Big Day” ahead. It’s gonna be glorious, it will happen in the beginning of February and all will be right when they march on to that field and make you the happiest man in the world. You are already planning what food and drinks will be served, the speech that will be made, the tears that are going to be shed. OMG, what are you going to wear? The home or away jersey, the QB or wide receiver. It’s stressful, but it is going to be so worth it.

The “Big Day” is here. You cannot believe that all of the hard work YOU have put in, has paid off. People are where they need to be, you have spent your entire savings on this day. I mean, it’s a once and a lifetime opportunity, right? This day may not ever come around again and your team is worth it. It’s important that you’re there when the ULTIMATE happy ending in all of sports literally explodes onto the field. You want to taste the confetti and you look forward to the day you will be able to tell your grandkids about the greatest day of your life. Then the worst kind of tragedy happens. I mean, it’s what every guy fears on that “Big Day”. . .

They left you hanging. Those bitches didn’t even show up to play (metaphorically of course). How could those bastards treat this like any ole’ day? Do they not get the hard work YOU put in to this day? Once again, they have NEVER appreciated anything you have done for them. So that’s it, you’re done. They can kiss your ass! They better not come back begging for another chance either, NO, they had their chance and they blew it.

You’ve mourned “what could have been” for months. You even played Tiffany’s version (it was your lowest point). But things are starting to pick up. You’ve got a little more pep in your step. It’s looking good for you. You’re even starting to notice “other” teams. You can actually see their appeal. How good will that QB’s number will look on your back? What they can offer you and it looks pretty good. But low and behold what happens next?

It’s September, and that bitch shows up at your doorstep, with her tits and ass hanging out wanting another chance. Do you even put up a fight? Make them explain themselves? Even offer you an apology? NO, you drop to your knees yet again and let them back in. Thus, the cycle never ends and that crazy bitch rears her ugly head while giving all of your friends the big F*YOU!

Now, I can say that I loosely understand your pain. I am a Texas Rangers fan, remember? I know where I was when that asshat Nelson Cruz failed to catch the ball that would have led to a helluva Happy Ending. And, I am a Mavericks fan, HELLO 2006? My heart didn’t heal from that until 2011, so I understand the stress. The funny thing about sports is, lovers come out of the woodwork when times are good and expect the credit for a phenomenal relationship, but they will leave quicker than a teenager asked to wash dishes when shit starts to go bad. You either love em’ or hate em’, just stop dicking them around and make up your mind. Sometimes when a relationship goes bad, it’s ok to sever ties and begin again. But then again, sometimes it’s worth sticking it out and seeing how good it can actually get.

So ask yourself, are you going to be the wife or the mistress? Are you going to be loyal or find yourself in the bed of the one guaranteed to give you a happy ending or will you be starting the cycle all over again come September?

Until Friday Night (A Field Party Book Series, Book #1) by Abbi Glines

You know usually when I finish a book, I like to “be with it” for a couple of days before I try to put how I felt about it into words. This is one of those rare occasions that I just finished the book (like today finished) and now it’s time to put it to paper. I must admit however, I was a little skeptical about this book when I noticed it making it’s rounds on social media (prior to release), I just didn’t know if I would connect with it and add that to the fact that I rarely will spend over $6 for a Kindle book and this one was $10.99, which was more than any other format. But, I read the sample to get a feel and I was hooked and found myself clicking the “buy with 1-click” button before I knew it.

This book will be told through both POV’s and trust me, you need for it to be.

Maggie Carleton has lived a life that no one at her age deserves, really no one at any age deserves. Two years prior, she witnesses her father murder her mother and that tragedy has struck her silent. She’s afraid to speak, afraid to relive the nightmare that haunts her nightly, afraid to answer questions, actually, just afraid to hear her voice. After living with her Godmother and not having any success with opening up, her Godmother ships her off to live with her aunt and uncle, which was really a bitch thing to do, but, for the best in the long run. Just to wrap up the individuals she is now living with: Aunt Coralee, Uncle Boone (her mom’s brother), and her cousin Brady, who is the same age as Maggie and also happens to be the star quarterback of the high school football team, and best friends with our male lead, West.

West Ashby has lived in Lawton, Alabama with his mom and dad his whole life. Everything was going to plan. He was ready to live it up his senior year. He had the ladies falling at his feet, he had success on the field, and he had his boys by his side. Football is his life and is something that he shares, proudly, with his dad. So when his dad is diagnosed with advanced cancer, and there are no other options for his treatment, he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do. He has never imagined his future that didn’t include his dad. While this is tearing him up inside, he doesn’t know how to talk about it with his friends.

When Maggie moves in with her extended family, she is forced upon Brady. Her aunt has Brady take Maggie with him when he goes and does the things that teenagers do, like going to a field party. Maggie knows that Brady is way less than thrilled to be her babysitter and even if she didn’t, she knows it once they arrive at the party and he parks her in the dark, out of sight. However, she does catch the eyes of his friends and he then informs them that not only is she mute (his word), but also that she isn’t there 100% mentally, which in my opinion, was a bit cruel to say. However, they all notice her beauty, so Brady makes her off-limits to them all. West attends the party but the only thing on his mind is his dad and the fear that while he’s out partying it up, his dad could easily pass. When he makes the decision to cut out early, he runs into Maggie and in his attempts to be an asshole, he kisses her. Her first kiss. She doesn’t forget it, she only wishes she can when she shows up at school Monday morning and West is making out with his on-again/off-again girlfriend right next to Maggie’s locker.

It isn’t until the field party after the first football game that changes everything. With West having no one he feels that he can just open up to, he figures that Maggie is a safe bet. I should probably point out that even though West has made more than one attempt to be an asshole towards Maggie, she somewhat sees right through it. She recognizes the pain he is hiding, because it’s the same pain that she recognizes in herself. So, when West opens up to her, she feels safe enough to open up to him and speak for the first time in two years. And that is where Until Friday Night really takes off.

The supporting cast here is fabulous, but what do expect when you take on Abbi Glines. She has a way about writing secondary characters that adds layer after layer and really pushes the story to its greatness. The story here is good, but the cast surrounding West and Maggie really bring it to another level. You hate where you’re supposed to hate and fall in love where you’re supposed to fall in love.

There is sex/sexual situations in Until Friday Night, but I am choosing to not discuss it. It’s always a little strange for me to talk about that part of a book when the characters are so young. Just trust that it’s done well and pretty damn accurate.

That’s all I can give you because to say that this book is a journey, doesn’t give it the justice that is deserves, it’s so much more. This book is really a YA book, so some may have issues reading a book that surrounds high school. However, I don’t really think that you can truly put an age on a book like this. I remember high school, vividly. I remember Friday nights (I live in Texas, so just imagine). I remember the camaraderies that were formed. I have great memories from that time in my life and this book played around with them just enough. It’s a wonderful love story that comes about through tragedy, but hey, sometimes those are the strongest. Also, for anyone who has lost a parent to the bitch that is cancer, regardless if you were a teen when it happened or well into adulthood when tragedy struck, you will empathize with West and admire his ability to pull through.

Until Friday Night is about 336 pages. I purchased this book on August 25 and was done reading it by 5 p.m. on August 26. It probably would’ve been sooner if I was able to read in a moving car without the need to vomit everywhere. Abbi Glines will have you captivated from page 1 to page 336, making it almost impossible to put down. I can’t wait to see how the next book in this series turns out. Great Read!

The Mistake (Off-Campus Series, Book #2) by Elle Kennedy

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Part of me wants to tell you that it’s not necessary for you to read the first book in this series (The Deal) before you dive into The Mistake. Because I do think you can skip right over it and still really enjoy this book. The other part of me wants to warn you and tell you that in order for you to really get into Logan’s head and understand him, you need to first read The Deal. While it tells the story of Hannah and Garrett, their relationship is f**ing with Logan a bit and for the story to come full circle, you should fall in love with Hannah and Garrett before you begin your affair with Logan and Grace. So, I’m gonna leave this one up to you.

The Mistake will be told through the POV’s of both Logan and Grace.

Let’s start with Logan. He is having a very difficult time coming to terms with Garrett’s relationship with Hannah. Truth is, he really believes he is/has fallen for Hannah, which makes him feel like a total dick because Garrett is his best friend. So in order to “get over her” he decides hopping into bed with whoever the next willing female is, will do the trick. Just because Garrett hasn’t caught onto Logan’s feelings towards his girl, doesn’t necessarily mean that the other guys living in the house hasn’t noticed it.

Grace is a freshman at Briar and is rooming with her lifelong BFF, Ramona. One of her “freshman goals” was to live a little, which is proving itself to be somewhat difficult and to meet new girlfriends, but the only ones that she met are courtesy of Ramona. Ramona is a outgoing and doesn’t really show too much restraint in life. She also loves to party. Grace on the other hand, is the complete opposite, but they tend to balance one another out.

Looking for a party one night is what finds Logan knocking on Grace’s door. Obviously in the wrong place, Grace invites him in. Watching Die Hard 2 leads to a make out session which leads to Logan finishing, but Grace not. She lies about her lack of a climax and Logan heads out, leaving things extremely awkward. Leaving any female less than satisfied irritates Logan to the point of him once again knocking on Grace’s door and insisting that he finish the job. I should point out that Grace is still a card carrying member of the V-Club, so the orgasm is given via oral skills. At this point, things happen, they both find themselves longing to see one another, but Logan believes that it is just because he is using Grace to get over Hannah, a fact that he shares with her the night she is more than willing to turn in that V-Card. Don’t worry, I’m not spoiling anything here, the book is called The Mistake, now you know why.

Just a couple of tidbits of information: Grace’s parents are divorced, but friends. Her mom lives in Paris, her dad is a professor at Briar. After “The Mistake”, she finds herself spending the summer with her very free spirited mom in Paris. Logan’s familial situation is a tad stickier. His dad is an alcoholic who owns a auto repair shop, that his older brother is currently running. Now, there is certainly more to Logan’s story than just that and I would love to indulge you, but since it’s a very tragic story, you’re gonna have to read that for yourself.

As you can imagine, being told that a really gorgeous guy was just using you in the hopes of getting over “his true love”, would do a number on your self esteem. As Grace enters her sophomore year, Logan is now convinced that she is the one for him and will stop at nothing to prove it. And trust when I say, stop at nothing.
Just remember that there is no one pill that can give enormous health benefits like more intense orgasm, enhanced sex libido and sex desire and lead to stronger and link cialis for sale canada harder erection every time. Key ingredients in Kamdeepak capsule include Sanvari, Pichila, Punarnwa, Shothdhni, Snadika, Swetmula, Gandhak Sudh, Mochras, Bheema, Semal Musli, Gauri Beej, Godaipurna, Keethdhna, Shimulair, Picha, Raktpushpa, tadalafil pharmacy Khathen and Vishdhni. When you find sildenafil sales a good site, you canlook forward to picking from generally thousands of medicines. That’s why it’s important to visit the doctor levitra prices as you face the impotence problem because he would be deciding whether it is caused by the physical problem or by mental imbalance.
Here’s what I love about this book. First, Elle Kennedy really knows how to write well from the male perspective. And I’m not just referring to Logan. He is a hockey player who lives in a house with other hockey players and anytime in the book that the scenes revolve around those guys, it is brilliant. I loved, loved, loved, Grace in this book. She comes across as somewhat as a pushover, but she is anything but that. She is super funny, especially when she babbles, she is witty, and she is fierce when she stands up for herself.

Let’s talk about the supporting cast in The Mistake. Fabulously written. The relationships that are developed in this story makes it easy to fall in love with this book. Even when Logan was being somewhat dickish, you love him. There’s an incident that happens between Ramona and Grace and you will really not be a huge fan of Ramona during this time, but that’s the beauty of the writing. She is able to make you love, well love may be a strong word, Ramona in one scene, but make you want to claw out her eyes in the next. The guys in the house definitely provide some comic relief for Logan when he needs it and while we don’t get a ton from Hannah and Garrett, we do get enough to scratch our itch.

Elle Kennedy does a great job writing the sexual tension between Grace and Logan. It doesn’t take Dr. Ruth to figure out that Grace is going to eventually give up the stuff to Logan and even though I don’t really like discussing the sex between characters that are so so young, it is written well. Logan and Grace certainly have sexual chemistry and exploit it every chance they get.

Dean’s story gets told next and I for one, cannot wait. This book does not leave us with a cliffhanger and does give some closure in the epilogue. Start this series, you will not be disappointed.

Waiting on the Sidelines (Book #1) by Ginger Scott

Waiting on the SidelinesWaiting on the SidelinesSynopsis TagWaiting on the Sidelines Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Waiting on the Sidelines (Waiting on the Sidelines, Book #1)

I hope that I am able to do justice for this book with this review. What I wish is, after you have read the synopsis and then the review, that you do whatever it is that you do to get a book (download, run to the bookstore, etc.) and while you are doing that, go ahead and pick up book #2, you’re going to want to pick up where this one leaves off. This is truly a coming of age, love story that will have you nostalgic and reliving old times.

This book will tell the story of Nolan Lennox and Reed Johnson and is told through the POV of Nolan. Nolan was named after the great Nolan Ryan, her parents were convinced that they would be having a boy and after receiving the surprise of her gender, her dad insisted that her name remain Nolan. Nolan is getting ready to start her freshman year at Coolidge High School in Coolidge, AZ and thought she was ready for anything. She has lived her life up to this point being who she is with no apologies. She has never felt ashamed of her roots. Yes, they live in a manufactured home, but it is her home. Her clothes aren’t the latest styles, but she has never needed that, she is happy in t-shirts and shorts. She has her best friends (Sarah and Sienna) and in her world, that is all she needs. That is until her first day of volleyball tryouts when she spots Reed Johnson and feels that emotion every girl has felt for the first time just to have him break her heart the same exact day.

Reed Johnson is also beginning his freshman year and has already been given the title of “star”. There are high hopes riding on his football abilities and everyone seems to be attaching themselves to the future local celebrity. Even though Nolan spotted him and had her heart flutter, his didn’t seem to do the same. In fact, while hanging out after practice, Nolan overhears Reed along with several other students, one of whom Nolan thought of as an acquaintance at the very least, talking about how Nolan looked like a boy. This changed the way Nolan began to see herself.

The first day of school rolls around and Nolan finds herself partnered up with Reed on a Science project. Surprising, working together works out well. They hit it off and the project is going is turning out better than anticipated. Even when Reed’s friends come over and hang out with them, Nolan keeps her “awkwardness” pulled back. That is until Tatum (the so-called acquaintance) shows up and Nolan realizes that Tatum and Reed are together. After silently confronting Reed about what was said about her that awful day of volleyball practice, Reed writes her a very sweet letter apologizing for his behavior and extending the olive branch for friendship. And boy is a friendship built. This should be a good foundation for you to start to build your imagination where this story is concerned. If I say anymore, I may wind up giving away some very valuable story line and where is the fun in that?

This really is a beautifully told story of a young lady trying to discover herself without losing who she is along the way. The way that Nolan was written will have you so connected that you will feel the emotions with her, her pain becomes your pain and her joy will have a smile on your face. You will fall in love with her instantly. There were times that Reed was a downright asshole, but I mean, isn’t that really expected for someone of that age? The thing is, you will love him. Yes, he will irritate you, but through it all you will see his true heart and intentions.

This book will span their high school years and the very, very, beginning of college. There are going to be some ups and some downs, like very down. Your emotions are going to go on a wild ride and you may find yourself wanting to stand up for Nolan from time to time. This book will definitely take you on a trip down memory lane. I don’t know many people who didn’t have a crush on someone who was “unattainable” and spent high school wondering “what if” and this book finally gives the happy ending to the one who deserves it.
It rejuvenates skin, helps reduce body weight, controls high achat viagra pfizer blood pressure, improves digestion and boosts immune system. I happened to come across this book after reading How We Deal With Gravity. I was so moved by that book, that I needed to read something else by Ginger Scott and this is what I picked, I couldn’t have been more pleased. Sometimes I feel that an author can get really wordy and it seems that they are just trying to fill space on a page (I don’t say this lightly, for the most part, I love everyone I read), but with Ginger Scott, she fills the pages so fantastically, I really wished that words would flow out of my mouth in the same way that she can put them on paper. I have now read 3 of her books and in every one of them she knows how to trap the reader and hold them captive. Also, so far in all 3 books there is focus on special needs, you know I really don’t like that term, so I am going to call them extraordinary people. In How We Deal. . . the focus is on Max, who happens to be Autistic, and she told his story beautifully. In this book, the focus will be on Nancy and Downs Syndrome and once again, written so well.

Another aspect to Ginger Scott’s writing that is so terrific is her character development. I mean ALL characters. While the focus in this book may be on Nolan and Reed, the supporting characters are so well written and whether it’s a character that you are supposed to dislike (Tatum) or a character that you fall in love with (Buck) they all enhance the story and help the emotions peel off of the page. I think that it is expected for a reader to fall in love with the H/h in books and sometimes the supporting cast becomes more of an afterthought, but not here. They do their job and because of it, you fall more in love with Nolan and Reed.

If you are hesitant to read because of the high school setting, please don’t be. This is a book that can be enjoyed by all readers. My fifteen year old is reading this book. In fact, I think it’s a great book to maybe use to start a discussion with your teen, there are many great lessons in this book (series, really) and what a great way to bond with your kiddo. My teen can’t read most of what I have, but this she can. Ginger Scott has done it again with this book and I am so happy that I have discovered this wonderful author. I hope that when an author puts their words to paper, that they know how thankful and how much appreciation the reader has for the story that they are telling. So I say to Ginger Scott, thank you.

Fighting For Flight (The Fighting Series Book #1) by JB Salsbury

Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Synopsis TagFighting For Flight (Fighting Series)Bxtches Be Blogging Book Reviews
Fighting For Flight (Fighting Series, Book #1)

This story follows the relationship between Raven Moretti and Jonah Slade. The book begins with the birth of Raven. She is the daughter of a prostitute (Milena) and a very well known pimp (Dominick Moretti). Once Raven is born, Dominick informs Milena that she can raise Raven, but when the time comes, she (Raven) will have to work for him. Raven leaves home once she turns 18, she’s a mechanic who works for Guy, who owns the garage where she works.

The story is told from both Jonah’s and Raven’s POV. I really love it when books are told through both the H/h POV. And if an author can really nail the male dialogue, that’s so much better. I think for a book like this particular one, it’s important to understand where both characters are at, mentally. Ms. Salsbury really does a great job at keeping you in the loop with both of them. There is never really any question about where either Raven or Jonah are at during any point in their relationship and that helps with the flow of the story.

Jonah is a hotshot UFL fighter who never offers himself up to the same girl twice. However, he has a car that needs to be restored and heads to Guy’s garage to meet with Ray. He never expected to be knocked on his a** by a mechanic, but that is in fact what happens. After working together in close quarters (his garage) for a while, they can longer deny the chemistry that is pulling them towards one another. Jonah finds himself feeling things towards Raven that he has only really felt towards his mother and sister (not in a creepy way) and Raven finds herself reacting to him in ways that has never happened to her body (she’s a virgin).

On a quick sidenote: I think that it is HOT, that Ms. Salsbury made Raven a hot little mechanic. I love that she can do a man’s job with the sex appeal of a Playboy Bunny. Even better is, she’s not ashamed of what she does at all. Not that she should be, but she doesn’t allow the opinion of others to effect how she feels about her profession. She knows she’s the best and she is not afraid to flaunt it. So fantastic.

I won’t give anything too juicy away, but here’s what I will tell you. Raven’s dickhead father, Dominick, comes back around making demands, that will force Jonah and Raven into the fight of their young lives. It will put their beliefs in check and their love to the ultimate test.

There really isn’t too much as far as supporting characters go. They are there. Raven’s BFF, Eve, is a little needy, but she is good for Raven. The only complaint I have is, while she plays a pivotal role in the plot in the middle of the story, she kinda flickers out towards the end, she’s there, just not as much as you think someone’s BFF should be. Blake is Jonah’s best friend. He is fantastic. Everything about his character is smooth. He is funny as all get out, he is good with the ladies and you can feel the love he has for Raven and Jonah. Blake’s character development is very thorough, this could be because book #2 will focus on him.

Everything about this book is great. It moves very well, without fluff to fill the “in betweens”. Raven is a very lovable heroine. She is funny, her inner dialogue is fantastic. It’s always intriguing for me when an author must transform a virgin with no sexual experience, into a horny little vixen. Sometimes when it happens, it isn’t very believable, but here, it’s done well. As for the sex in this book, it’s hot. Not scorching hot, but still pretty flame worthy. All in all, a very good read. Book #2, Fighting to Forgive, is currently available and will focus on the story of Blake and Layla.
