There’s no prerequisite for Blindsided, it’s ready for you to dive right in. Here is what I will say. . .it was very difficult for me to put this book down, which seems to happen every time I open up a Shey Stahl book. So, consider that your warning. . .you will get absolutely no adulting done once you begin to fall in love with Landon and Ember.

Blindsided will be told through the POV’s of both Landon and Ember and sticking to the theme of the book, it will be broken down gridiron style. . .four quarters, with a halftime and an overtime thrown in.

If you read the blurb for Blindsided, then you know that the story will revolve around Landon (QB for Seattle) and Ember (Landon’s personal assistant). You also know that Landon’s brother and his brother’s wife has just died (well, you might not know about the wife, but that is the tragedy), leaving their five kids (Marley, Adler, Haisley, Braylee, and Nalani) ages range from 2-13, in Landon’s care. #handsarefullAF That tragedy is exactly where this story kicks off, which also coincides with the start of Landon’s training camp.

Without giving too much away, Ember came into Landon’s life about five years ago, when he met her in a tattoo parlor, she was the one doing the inking, she was also in a relationship (one that I understood as maybe BDSM and maybe not so healthy) with her boss. Forming an instant connection with Landon, she left her boss and tattoo parlor behind, becoming the personal assistant to the NFL’s hottest player. Don’t get confused, their relationship is definitely one based on friendship, though you quickly learn that both of our leading characters are beginning to feel that this relationship is or at least could be, much more than just friends.

So that’s where we’re at. Blindsided is a love story to its core. One would think that Landon already had a relationship with his nieces and nephew, but he didn’t really even know his brother, much less his brother’s offspring. So he has to learn not only how to be a father, but how to love the kids the way they deserve and in a way that would make his brother proud. And even though both Landon and Ember are beyond the #friendzone where their relationship is concerned, they see their relationship through two different sets of lenses.  Ember is afraid of ruining what they currently have. . .#bestfriendsforever and Landon knows that Ember could be his HEA. Now they need to start reading from the same book and Landon does have the pesky problem of an on again, off again girlfriend, but that just spices up the story a bit.

While Blindsided is a Landon + Ember = forever type of story, it would not be the book it is if it weren’t for the kiddos. I believe that I mentioned this in my review of Untamed, but Shey Stahl has an ability to write children better than almost anyone I have read. She gives them an adult quality while keeping everything you love about kids in place. And what was so superb in Blindsided was how the relationships developed between Landon and the kids as well as Ember and the kids and also Cat and the kids. . .the kids may just be the common denominator in all of this. . .and you’ll understand once you meet them. Now, I know I haven’t mentioned Cat, but she is Ember’s lifelong BFF who was in an accident, one that caused a traumatic brain injury and affected her short term memory. And speaking of Cat, what I loved about that particular character is how well integrated she was with not just Ember, but Landon and then eventually the kiddos. She wasn’t written as someone with a handicap, but as someone who happens to forget things from time to time. We do get to meet some of Landon’s teammates, and while they may not play as big of a role as some, they do add another layer to Landon and it gives the reader a chance to experience Landon’s professional QB side.

If you’re expecting the sex in Blindsided to be hawt, hot. . .then your expectations are about to be met. . .okay, probably exceeded. Now, I’m sure not all NFL players bring their A game into the bedroom, but in our fantasy they certainly do and Landon has a couple different versions of his A game and they are all sweat inducing. But it’s not just the actual sex, it’s the tension that has been building over a five year friendship, it’s the dirty whispers and dirty promises that are made into Ember’s ear, let’s just say that you BXTCHES will not be disappointed.

I don’t think Shey could’ve given us much more with Blindsided, though I do wish we could’ve gotten more of a glimpse into Landon’s family. I feel that we were almost on the cusp of something really great or juicy or maybe a little of both, but were kind of left hanging. Now it could be the introduction was brief because there will be more to come, which I’m good with, I just want more with Cat first. . .please and thank you. The only other storyline I wanted addressed a bit more was Ember’s past relationship with her boss. There was closure, but the nosey BXTCH in me wanted to know a smidge more.

I have several boxes I need checked when I crack open a book and Blindsided checked them all. I love a hiccup in the middle of a love story and though this hiccup didn’t come deep from the gut, it was enough to add the angst that has me eagerly turning a page. I also need humor, which was not only provided in spades, but was clever from every angle. And while we all know we’re probably gonna swoon over the male lead, I need a female lead to swoon over as well. I need her to be fiercely independent while having some vulnerability. I need her to be sharp and witty. I need her to be able to go toe to toe with her male counterpart, unapologetically. . .Ember encompassed it all and then some.

Shade was my introduction to Shey Stahl and I was hooked from jump street. I’m not even sure how I came across that book, but I’m thankful nonetheless. I also think I have mentioned this before, so I apologize for my redundancy. I believe I have read about six of her books and one of the qualities that keeps me captivated is how conversational her imagination is. I love how the reader isn’t just an observer of a story, but you feel included. She welcomes you into whatever world she has created and invites you to sit back, have a drink, and fall in love. . .#overandoveragain

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: So, fun fact. Complicated was released November 7, 2017. . .I did my one click on November 12, 2017, dove right in and for a reason that I cannot identify, I didn’t take right to the keyboard with my thoughts. I decided to give it a re-read (not really a chore) but once again, for unknown reasons, I procrastinated. Third time’s the charm and I’m finally in front of a computer ready to gush all of my feelings about this book. While I haven’t read every word that has come from KA’s imagination, I am a huge fan. Motorcycle Man is one of my absolute favorites (of any author) and if you have yet to fall in love with Tack and Tyra and motorcycles and the Choas MC. . .I digress. . .just check out my review here. Trust a BXTCH, that book will have you feeling it all. While KA is pretty much close to perfection, there is a downfall. . .her books are addicting, almost Intervention worthy, her books are also very long (this one is 576 pages), so the conundrum. . .do I let my imagination go where KA wants to take it and escape or do I do adulty things like cook dinner and do laundry? Well, surely it’s not gonna take a whole helluva lot to figure out which path I chose. #laundrybedamned

Complicated will be told through the first person POV of Greta and the third person POV of Hix. Not my favorite way to get inside the mind of an alpha, but KA does it well.

Complicated kicks off with Hixon climbing out of Greta’s bed, after having a pretty great fucking night or a great night fucking, you can take it either way. The problem? That’s all it can really be. . .just one night. Hixon has just finalized his divorce from his wife of many years. The woman that he thought he was gonna grow old with. . .enjoy grand babies with. . .the one he thought he would be sitting with as his children said their “I do’s”. . .but for reasons unknown to him, Hope decided that the future they had planned together was no longer the one she wanted to see through to the end. So even though his loyalty is no longer tied to anyone, getting his needs met is one thing, but offering up his heart is a bridge he is not willing to cross. But sometimes all it takes is hearing the girl of your dreams, the one that gave you the best sexual night of your life, singing to you from across the bar, for you to see things a bit differently.

It shouldn’t take much to decipher that Complicated is in fact a complicated love story between Hixon and Greta. However, it’s not the love that’s the complicated part, not really. It’s everything that surrounds Hixon and Greta that has this book living up to its name. Even though Hixon and Hope have been living separately for about one year, their divorce is just weeks old. Adding to that complication is the fact that their love did produce three children (Shaw, Corinne, and Mamie). Hix is the sheriff, and being the sheriff of a small community, one where everyone knows everyone and everyone’s business, his actions, both professional and personal, are always being scrutinized. Hixon’s list may be long and may be complicated, but Greta’s will give him a run for his money and the majority of her list is occupied by her mother.

Not to dive too deep into this complicated journey, but Greta is somewhat new to the small Nebraska town and her motivation for relocating is her younger brother, Andy. Her younger brother who lives in a home. Her younger brother who was in a drunk driving accident when he was just 15 years old. An accident that caused a traumatic brain injury. An accident that was caused by his mother. And because of the recklessness that mama caused, Greta is Andy’s guardian. Now you can understand why it is that mommy dearest takes up so much of Greta’s complicated list.

Now it’s just time to uncomplicate things.

Kristen Ashley is never a simple BXTCH. It’s never gonna be a girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love, they get married and ride off for their happily ever after. First, KA doesn’t write boys, she’s gonna give you an alpha that you’re gonna be trippin’ over your own two feet to fall in love with. He could be an asshole or he may be lovable from page one, but rest assured he will be alpha and you will fall, asshole or otherwise. Also, KA writes movie-esque books, she will give your imagination an investment and you will be living the moments right next to the characters she has created. Get ready, there will be a lot to unpack within the covers of this complicated book.

However, sometimes, the condition of male impotence is caused when a man cannot keep an erection enough for sexual contact. cheapest cialis canada Sadly, cialis 10 mg the list of these ailments doesn’t have many bounds. When taken Look At This viagra 100 mg in excess, alcohol can increase your chances of getting pregnant. From these, the cialis 20 mg Discover More researcher’s isolated 16 patients with symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Greta and Hixon are the ones who take center stage, but it’s the ones that surround them that give the book layer after layer. Each supporting character adds the necessary ingredient that Complicated needs to come together. Even though you know where the book is headed with Hixon and Greta, Hixon tends to be frustrating when he tries to keep things super casual and just friend zoned between him and Greta, but then you see the relationship between him and his children and even the non-relationship between him and Hope, so even though you may be frustrated with Hix, you understand. The supporting cast comes at you from all angles. . .there’s those who work with Hixon. . .there’s those who work with Greta. . .there’s the kiddos, both Hixon’s kids and Greta’s brother. . .there’s Hope. It all comes together in a beautiful and very well told story.

While KA does it all very well, the one thing that she is usually heads and shoulders above the rest is when she brings the imagination into the bedroom. And it’s not just the actual sex that will set your sheets on fire. It’s the tension that she creates, it’s the romance and the passion and the dirty talk. I think that’s where KA gets you, it’s the alpha combined with the romance, combined with the passion, combined with the dirty talk that will not only hypnotize you, but will have you salivating for more.

Here’s the deal, if you have never cracked open a KA book, Complicated is a pretty good start, though I would recommend you go back and catch up on some pretty fantastic stories. When I tell you that KA is moviesque in her writing, I’m talking get the popcorn ready, because you’re gonna be captivated from the get go.

Complicated brings all the elements. Romance and love and passion and humor and heartache and even a murder. So just sit back, pour some wine (or tequila), block out your world and get ready to fall deep into Hixon and Greta’s. It’s gonna be worth the escape.

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: Not much of a warning, but this is a stand alone, though I wouldn’t be mad at a BXTCH if others from this book (ahem. . .Haylee and Ty) gotta a little love with their own title. It is important to note, that once you start this crazy ride, it is gonna prove hella difficult for you to jump off, so allot some time in your schedule, if you catch my drift. Now enjoy the wild and carefree passion that is Maesyn and Grayer. Oh and on a side note, let’s take a moment of silence to appreciate all of the greatness that is that cover.

Untamed will be told in two parts and both parts are told through the POV’s of Maesyn and Grayer.

Let’s kick things off with our leading lady, Maesyn. Maesyn is days away from turning 18 and hopefully the same amount of days away from being able to set her inner gypsy free. I wouldn’t necessarily say that Maesyn has a tortured soul, but she definitely has a very conflicting one. She appreciates the work ethic her dad drilled into her, but like any teenaged girl, wants to know her dad’s softer side and see pride in his eyes when he looks at her but she has yet to feel that from him. She has a reputation that is certainly not earned, but she doesn’t do much to dispute either. She has some past demons that could be holding her back that she hasn’t yet learned how to break free from. So when she spots hometown boy and world champion bull rider, Grayer Easton at a local party, little does either one of them know that they could very well be the missing piece to each others puzzle.

Grayer Easton has some loose ends to tie up in the town that turned its back on him and his brother years ago. Things were supposed to be simple, take care of some family obligations and head back home to Decatur, Texas to get ready for his next competition, but once he sets sights on Maesyn Calhoun, things may never be the same again. When he finds out that she is only 17, he knows he has to stay away and he does, sometimes very abruptly, but once the calendar adds another year to her age, all bets are off. He knows she’s more than the bad reputation that seems to precede her and even though he has tried to resist and even though his time in town is short, not only will he have a taste of Maesyn, he’s gonna be sure that she sees herself not only the way that he does, but the way in which she deserves.

Part one takes place in Ellensburg, Washington and it’s also where we get to watch Maesyn begin to discover what she’s worth and where she learns to not settle for anything less. It’s where she realizes that Grayer may not be her forever, but he’s the one that set her on the path to this discovery. Part two is a different discovery, but no less important. It’s passion and carefree and the life that most 18 year olds dream about, but never have the guts to pursue. It’s a road trip with your BFF, both literally and figuratively. It’s the memories made that shape who you become and the heartache you experience that force you to question who you are, but most importantly it’s the love you find that you realize you always deserved. Untamed is going to take you for one wild ride (all puns intended) and it is worth every high and low. . .just hang on tight, because it’s gonna be a long eight seconds.

Just like with any Shey Stahl book I have read, the supporting cast that she delivers plays an almost equally important part to the characters that take on the main role. It was the relationships between Maesyn and those around her that resonated with me the most. Her relationship with her father was so strained and at times heartbreaking, but a relationship that our teenaged selves can probable relate to, and while the relationship with her dad was turbulent, it was balanced with the relationship she had with her mom and younger sister, Morgan. And speaking of Morgan, I’m not sure who Shey Stahl models some of her characters after, but the way she is able to conjure up a child is brilliant. . .in fact I should encourage you visit with Nova in Unsteady if you doubt any of what I’m claiming. I won’t give away the fabulousness that is Morgan, you’ll just have to make that discovery on your own. But it wasn’t just Maesyn’s relationships with those in her family that jumped out at me, but her BFF Haylee and even the relationships she formed that proved to be unhealthy. . .it was the way all of these relationships shaped her. . .that’s what you will feel when the last page is turned and that’s what Shey Stahl is a master at accomplishing.

Even though there was nothing about this story that was controversial (in my opinion), I should point out that when Untamed starts, Maesyn is just 17 years old, days away from turning 18, but it is when she is still 17 that she makes the decision to give Grayer some lovin’ via her mouth. Now, in fairness, she did tell him that she was legal. . .but let’s talk about the good stuff once she did in fact turn 18. We are talking about sex with a bull rider, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Grayer had the moves to do more than impress Maesyn and her lady bits and those of us living vicariously with our imaginations, but even I can say that the chemistry between the two of them was purely electric and would’ve set the pages on fire, if that feat was possible.

Maesyn is the epitome of what an 18 year woman should be. She represents the transition into adulthood superbly and even though her positive attributes are pretty typical of a fantastic leading lady, it’s the ones that are at odds with what we deem proper. I love the flawed heroine that Stahl is so imaginative with conjuring up. . .that is what makes Maesyn so relatable. She is fierce and independent and vulnerable and feminine and funny. She’s a phenomenal best friend and a wonderful big sister. . .she knows what she wants and makes no apologies for it and what I loved the most was the support that she lacked from her dad, she got ten times over from her mom.

As you may or may not know, my love affair with Shey Stahl is fairly new, but if she didn’t have me hooked before Untamed, she would’ve had me after and I’m about to let you in on why. I bitch a lot about living in Texas and if you have ever been to the Lone Star state in the dead of summer, surely you understand this BXTCH’s love/hate relationship with it, but not only am I a Texas girl at heart, but country music is the soundtrack of my soul and to see the songs and artists that were the inspiration behind some of the moments in this book, made that soul smile. And it wasn’t the current artists that made me giddy, it was Neal McCoy and Sawyer Brown and Travis Tritt and Joe Diffie and Mighty Merle and The Judds and Patty Loveless. . .and I can’t express through words how excited I was when Clay Walker was mentioned, I could really keep going, but these were the artists of my youth, some are the reason I fell in love with country music. I mean she had “Dumas Walker” by The Kentucky Headhunters on her playlist. Now, that song drove me crazy as a teenager, but mainly because it was played constantly and a little because it took me a minute to figure out that they were saying “Dumas” and not “Do Miss”, we didn’t have the internet back then, we had to decipher it ourselves and then hold onto hope that we were singing the right lyrics. My only negative note to Ms. Stahl is her use of In-N-Out Burger, while that chain has began to pop up in the south, it is and always will be Whataburger. And feel free to verify this with any true Texan.

Fun fact about me. . .when I was younger, like way younger, like 5/6 years old, my favorite movie was Urban Cowboy and 36 years later, still one of my all time faves. Don’t be alarmed, it was the early 80’s and parents back then let their kiddos do crazy things like ride around the neighborhood on their bikes with only the sun dictating when it was time to come home or watch movies such as Urban Cowboy or Porky’s (a story for another day). In fact, my family could probably tell you just how much I irritated the fuck out of them when I decided anytime was a good time to belt out the lyrics to “Lookin’ for Love” as loud as my tiny lungs would allow. And even today, so many, many years later, if I hear any song from that soundtrack, I’m overwhelmed with nostalgia and a time where I fell in love with cowboy named Bud and the woman who loved him named Sissy. Even at my tender age, I was enamored by that love. And even though Untamed is set in a different era and around different circumstances and no where near a honky tonk, when I really began to get into the depths of this book, is was about a girl finding her cowboy. . .a Sissy finding her Bud.

I’ve read five of Stahl’s thirty books (Unsteady, Shade, Tiller, Love Complicated, and Untamed) and this is just the second book that I’ve actually put words down about, Shade being the first (see those thoughts here). It’s not that I didn’t fall head over feet in love with every book my imagination has had the pleasure in absorbing, it just that this BXTCH is sometimes lazy, which is why I just finished Untamed and knew I had to get my thoughts down. Each of the books by Stahl that I have read, have hit me differently, but all in a way that is toe curling delicious. And if I’m being honest, I thought Shade was gonna be the bar by which I measure her work, it had everything I love about being swept away by a book, and while I was expecting to love Untamed, I wasn’t expecting for it to shoot to the top of the list, but it captivated me in a way that can only come when you find a really, really good book. There are so many things to love about the way Stahl writes. . .there aren’t many authors who are able to write the characters in a way that a relationship is built between the reader and the ones leading the story, they talk to you in a very conversational manner. . .but her storytelling goes beyond that, I know not the first thing about professional bull riding, other than what I’ve seen in the movie Eight Seconds, but she was able to force the reader into an appreciation of a sport that they may not have ever given consideration to prior.

I very seldom read acknowledgements in a book, I’m not sure if that makes me a bitch or not, but for some reason I decided to continue with the page turning after “The End” was read and learned that this was actually a rewrite for Stahl and also learned that it was with the help of Garth Brooks and his Ultimate Hits that made this possible, which I’m happy to hear, because deep inside my country girl soul, the relationship between Maesyn and Grayer is very reminiscent of Garth Brook’s Shameless and a small piece of me hopes that it’s the same for Stahl. I’m not privy to the drama that seemed to surround Stahl back in 2013 and even though a part of me is super curious, I also know that I’m just grateful she was able to overcome it and still be inspired enough to share her gift. I love to read and I read a lot of good books, but there is only a handful of authors that can truly reach in and grab my soul and in our very short, albeit one-sided relationship, Shey Stahl has been able to do that each and every time and since I haven’t said it yet, thank you for that.

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: I got good news and bad news. . .the good news, In Bed With The Beast is about to hit your Kindle, Nook, bookshelf, basically your imagination is about to get inundated, which should give you some reason to celebrate. The bad news, Kiss the Girl won’t grace us until September. Let that sink in for a bit. . .and not to be a Debby Downer, but chances are your kids will already be living it up in the grade they’ve been promoted to, but the silver lining is your kids will be at school while you’re (hopefully) able to kick back and let Ariel have you laughing your ass off. Because let’s face facts, as funny as books #1 and #2 are, we all know that Ariel is gonna book end this series with a bang (no pressure Tara). Now to my actual warning. This is a series and in order to really get the full fairytale experience, you will have to read it in order. At the Stroke of Midnight is book #1 and you can check out my review here or just trust a BXTCH and purchase here.

In Bed With the Beast will be told solely though Belle’s POV.

We learned a lot about Belle in At the Stroke of Midnight. We know that she lives with her father, in the basement. We know that even though Belle is an adult, she needs to be snuck in and out of said basement. We know that the local library where she works is about to be shut down and her passion to save it is what has her finding friends in Cindy and Ariel and the birth of the Naughty Princess Club. They do say that necessity is the mother of invention and that rings true for strippers as well. And lastly, we know that that it’s gonna be about Belle and Beast, name association aside, the hostility between the two of them in book #1 was a clear sign that the attraction was definitely there.

This Once Upon a Time begins when Belle gets kicked out of her house. When Vincent (Beast) finds her living at the library, he offers her a place to live and since she is becoming desperate to save the place she loves the most, she needs Vincent to help her come out of her shell. . .to use her nerdy sexuality. . .to have laps begging for a little bump and grind. And while she may not be a virgin (though Ariel is not be entirely convinced), she is most certainly lacking experience. . .with men. . .enter The Beast.

What starts out as an experiment, a learning/teaching moment if you will, quickly turns into much more. C’mon now, what did you BXTCHES expect? You can only practice the art of seduction so many times before you’ll need to fall on a dick. . .literally. But we won’t go into too much more detail. Just know, like with all good fairytales, things are not always as they seem. And there is a lot at stake for Belle. Her library on the brink of closure, her relationship with her dad is falling apart, she falling for someone that they call Beast, and her BFF’s have signed her up for internet dating. What in the fuck could go wrong? Well, Murphy’s Law may very well ring true.

If you have already sank your teeth into At the Stroke of Midnight, and we’ve discussed this, so I hope you did in fact heed my warning, then you already know all about this great supporting cast, because it was through book #1 that the introductions were made. While we still get the laugh out loud moments between the ladies, In Bed with the Beast focuses more on Belle and Vincent and the other relationships really do take on a secondary role, but don’t fret, the interactions that do happen will give you everything you need. . .at least until book #3. Mrs. Potter is a new addition and she has become my new senior citizen goal, my husband better look out. We also get to meet Belle’s dad and while you may hate him at first, in the end, he’ll leave you with a smile on your face.

This is the point where we gotta discuss the sex. Sometimes (in my opinion) there is a fine line between writing great comedy and also being able to make the sex scenes, well. . .sexy. Tara Sivec does a great job of balancing the funny with the fucking. Now, for Belle and Vincent the hotness is really derived more from the  sexual tension that tethers these two together. There is sex, I don’t want to alarm you, but it’s the chemistry that is super hot, it’s the allowing herself to break free from the metaphorical shackles that has dominated her adult life that’s sexy. And let’s not leave out the lap dances that she becomes an expert at. . .thank you Cindy.

I wasn’t sure what we were going to get with Belle and Vincent. I knew it was going to be funny, but book #1 was so well thought out and new (I hope that makes sense) and we all know that Ariel is going to trap us from page one and not let up until it’s time to say goodbye to The Naughty Princess Club, so we kinda had Belle somewhere in the middle. But the unsureness was for nothing because our princess broke free and took on a mama’s boy, an egotistical ass, a threesome request, and ultimately a beast. . .and conquered. They do say that it’s always the quiet ones you gotta keep your eye on.

What I love about reading Tara Sivec is her ability to create a world that not only lets the reader immerse themselves in it, but the characters that she is able to pull from her imagination are so relatable, that it’s easy for the reader to create a relationship with them. I don’t know any strippers who use princesses in their act, actually I don’t know any strippers at all, but that doesn’t negate the fact that I would add them to my friends to find list. . .if I kept one.

So, we’re two books into this adult fairytale world and I’m stoked and sad all at the same time because with Ariel will come the end. But her story doesn’t come out until September, which is close to Halloween, which could inspire some of you BXTCHES out there to kick start your own Naughty Princess Clubs. Maybe it’s time for a #revolution.

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: I’ve had my hands on this hot little number for some time now and I’m feeling a bit twatish for just now getting around to reviewing it. Not that I really have a worthy excuse but, first it was The Bachelor and as much as Arie makes me cringe, I’m still devoted. . .and then the Olympics happened and for two straight weeks, I was all about the snow. In fact, I found myself getting angry at my parents (may they rest in piece) for never putting me in any winter sports, even though we live deep in the heart of Texas, but still, maybe I could’ve been a halfpipe superstar. Ahhh, dreams. Which leads me to the here and now. I wanted to do this book justice, so I gave it a good ole re-read and found that I loved it just as much the second time around. I kinda feel like Tara doesn’t really need a whole lot of warning. . .once she hooks you, you’re gone and the only answer you look for is “When is the next one coming out?”. Well BXTCHES, the answer to that age old question is now. And just in case you’re interested in any of Tara’s inspiration for At The Stroke of Midnight, check out her Pinterest board here.

At The Stroke of Midnight will be told entirely through Cindy’s POV.

Cindy is about to enter the mid-life crisis stage of adulthood way before she’s even made it to mid-life. She was living what she thought was a pretty perfect, albeit somewhat Stepford, existence. She had the great family and the big house and if there ever was a show that featured The Very Active Housewives of Fairytale Lane, she would’ve been the star. But all that came crashing down when, what she thought was a great husband, ran off with the babysitter, leaving Cindy and her daughter with nothing. Doing what she thinks is the right thing, she finds herself defending her asshole ex to the neighborhood gossips, until Ariel enters the picture and forces Cindy to start facing reality and to also remove the giant stick she has shoved up her ass.

All three of our princesses are facing their own kind of desperate situation. Cindy’s husband left her without any means to financially support her and her daughter. Ariel, who has a love for all things antique, finds herself having to pay her now gay ex, alimony and Belle just wants to be able to save the town’s library. Desperate times call for desperate measures and desperate measures leads to the ladies dressing up as their namesakes, but in a way that’ll have grown men throwing money at them to do so. Ahhh, dreams.

Of course, there’s more to how they get from point A to point B. Or in this case going from the president of the PTA to welcoming Cindy to the main stage. There’s a Halloween party with weird vegan cupcakes and a birthday party where they’re supposed to be hot princess strippers but they don’t know they’re supposed to be hot princess strippers and instead show up dressed as if they were actually walking in the Main Street Parade at Disney World. But all is good, because without these mishaps, Cindy would’ve never laid her pretty blue eyes on PJ Charming, the owner of Charming’s, the local strip club and with his help, although reluctant, Cindy begins to bust out of that Stepford shell she’s built up over the years. A dream is a wish your heart makes for sure. Let’s take a moment of silence to imagine how different our adult lives would be if Tara was the one feeding us our Disney stories. Ahh, dreams.

PJ won’t be able to take full credit for Cindy finding her inner (and outer) stripper and I mean that metaphorically as well as literally. A lot of that credit goes to her two side BXTCHES. And that is the beauty of this story. Now, I’m about to get a bit serious on you, just bear with me. Maybe it was never Tara’s intentions, but she was able to tap into a pretty sobering topic. We may not all have the asshole husband or snotty neighbors, but I think too many times we allow the identifiers “mom” and “wife” to dominate our lives and forget about the woman that was there long before we were given other titles and that’s what At the Stroke taps into, just in a way that allows us to sit back and laugh at it, instead of wallowing in it. Maybe it’s time to let those inner strippers out and the freak flags fly, our husbands would surely approve.

I’m starting to wonder how many voices Tara has in her head at any given moment, because the cast of characters that she conjures up amaze me each and every time. It actually makes me jealous that I don’t have someone like Ariel floating around in my subconscious, but envy is a seven deadly, so amazing it is. We do get our intros to the other naughty princesses and I can tell you with absolute certainty, that as much as you will love the princess featured in At The Stroke of Midnight, waiting for Belle and Ariel’s story is going to be like waiting for Christmas and if Cosmo were to ever come out with a ‘What Naughty Princess Are You’ quiz, Good Golly Miss Molly, I hope I get to be Ariel. Every character in this book added something to the telling of this story, even down to the evil as fuck in-laws and chances are you will love them all. . .sans the evil as fuck in-laws and you probably won’t feel any love lost for the ex either, but the rest will have you falling hard. I think I read somewhere that Anastasia (the daughter) was modeled after Tara’s kiddo and now that I have enjoyed this book twice, I’m not sure if I feel for her or admire her that much more, because having your own offspring be able to challenge you in the smartassness department may piss you off, but it does spark a certain amount of pride.

There are two separate relationships happening in this book. The obvious one between Cindy and PJ, which has it’s own part in bringing out a different side of Cindy. And I am all about PJ. The lap dances alone have me rethinking my own seduction skills, but that relationship plays second fiddle to the one between Cindy, Ariel, and Belle. You’re gonna love Cindy, but when we first meet her, she’s kind of a bitch. That is until Ariel and Belle almost force their way in. It’s three personalities that don’t exactly fit together, but there is something in each of them that the others need and I suspect as we move further into this series, it’s gonna be the girls that bring out the best in each other and the guys are just gonna be lucky enough to tag along for the ride.

It just requires sexual stimulation to generic pharmacy cialis work flawlessly. There is the levitra canada ticket price for two just for starters, then of course the snacks (which you always seem to need even after a nice dinner out). You would have listened about Kamagra ED medication, go through the article and know more about this miraculous medicine: What are Kamagra jellies? canada viagra prescription In general, the jellies are the most popular oral therapies that are fast acting. Be that as it may, the extraordinary side issues can free sample cialis negatively affect your well-being. Maybe you’re someone who has yet to discover Tara’s wildly funny and a little bit dirty imagination and if that’s the case, At The Stroke is a good place to start. However, if you are that person, then I highly suggest you jump on board this crazy train and start at the very beginning with the Chocolate Lovers Series. You will not be disappointed and you’ll probably be able to add a few more colorful phrases/insults to your vocab. So, it’s a win all the way around.

There are a handful of authors that I will one-click blindly and Tara Sivec is one of them. In my opinion, she writes the best kind of romantic comedy. It’s the kind that sounds crazy when you try to explain it to anyone else, so you just wind up with a “you just have to read it” explanation. It’s the kind that blocks out the snoring husband and forever wanting a snack kids. It’s the kind that has you justifying just one more chapter. But the best part. . .it’s the kind that has you laughing out loud and allows you the escape that all of us WOMEN deserve. Bxtches Be ReadingAt The Stroke of Midnight (The Naughty Princess Club Series, Book #1) by Tara Sivec | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

Alex in Wonderland by Max Monroe

Alex in Wonderland by Max Monroe | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

Alex in Wonderland by Max Monroe | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comAlex in Wonderland by Max Monroe | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comAlex in Wonderland by Max Monroe | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comBxtches Be Blogging Book ReviewsBXTCHES Gotta Warn: I am a huge fan of the duo that calls themselves Max Monroe and I’m sure we all fell in love with them when we fell in love with Kline and Georgia and everything Billionaire Bad Boys. . .we swooned, we escaped, our toes may have even curled, and we certainly laughed our asses off, but my warning before I get started is this. . .Alex in Wonderland is not Billionaire Bad Boys, I suppose I should probably elaborate a bit. If I had read the entire Billionaire series, then read this book, without first knowing who wrote either. . .I would’ve never guessed that they were written by the same author. While there were portions of Wonderland that were reminiscent of the wit and humor that Max Monroe brings to the pages, this story was so different than what I was expecting. . .but don’t worry, different was good. . .real, real good.

Alex in Wonderland will be told through the POV’s of both Alex and Matt.

Let’s kick this off with Alex Little. Needing a restart, Alex is fairly new to the L.A. area, transplanting herself from San Diego. We meet her after she was fired from her job as a bartender, recently picking up a job as Sparkles the Rabbit. Working for a princess party company was never high on her aspiration list, but bills need to get paid and food needs to be eaten, so at this point, rabbits can’t be choosy. But no worries, if it wasn’t for a sweaty ass. . .her life would’ve never changed.

Matt Hadder lost his mother, his only parent when he was just six years old. And because of this life altering event, John Hadder waltzes in and introduces himself. . .as Matt’s father. Matt Hadder is the head of Wonderland, Inc., an organization that can do about anything one would want and get about anything one would need. And no clarification is needed on “anything”, it literally means. . .anything.

Eventually the likes of Matt will meet up with Alex and all of this goes down when Alex is masquerading as Sprinkles the Rabbit. Well, she is actually sitting in her bra and panties and Sprinkles is laying next to her. . .apparently it’s hot as fuck in those costumes. Without giving too much away let’s just say that Alex may or may not have heard something that wasn’t meant for her ears and it’s up to Matt to find out if the rabbit knows anything, because if she does, he may or may not have to “take care” of it, and by “take care”, I mean it may be time for a BXTCHE to swim . When he finds her sitting in nothing but her underwear, Alex hits Matt’s radar and she has certainly piqued his curiosity.

Alex’s life takes a giant step up when Matt offers her a job and she accepts. For Matt, one of the reasons for the job offer is to keep a close eye on a liability, for Alex one of the reasons she accepts is pure intrigue. That intrigue, well that and the need for nutrition. The interest only grows when she has the opportunity to witness her first Wonderland party and decides to come back for more.
Also the men suffering diabetes and kidney related issues are said to be the case of ED pressures as the mind gets the bar due to reduced transmission ability of the messages from the brain to the nerves in the pelvic all the viagra order shop way through a complex procedure which controls the erection. It starts working in an hour. tadalafil professional cheap The three major side levitra online appalachianmagazine.com effects caused by regular use of erectile dysfunction medicines. This generic cialis for sale particular condition is associated with the decline of male hormone levels that occurs at certain age, usually when men reach late 40’s or early 50’s.
If that seems vague, it’s because it it. Even if I wanted to tell you BXTCHES what it is that Wonderland does, I couldn’t, it was too much to keep up with. Just know that not all is on the up and up and there is a shit ton of money involved. It’s got lots of drugs, parties, pleasure girls, and not to mention a presidential race is at stake, so is your curiosity peeking out yet? And that BXTCHES is all I’m gonna share, but just know this. . .expect the unexpected.

Max Monroe may be brilliant when it comes to creating a leading couple that makes your heart patter a bit, but they are as equally brilliant when it comes to creating a cast to support those leads and Wonderland gives us a bit of everything. There are those you will love and there are those you will hate and those that you will love to hate. The layers that each character created didn’t allow for downtime. Chapter after chapter, page after page, you will be longing to get just a little bit more and not only from Alex and Matt, but we get Aunt Delores and Deena (the cat) and Cal and Jessie Cat and a whole slew of individuals that will keep you turning the page and make it almost impossible to put down.

Once you dive into Matt Hadder’s inner dialogue, there will be no doubts left when it comes to his bedroom abilities. And once you get a peek inside of Alex’s, there will be no doubts left that she is dying to have Matt throw her up against the wall and wear her out. And when the time comes that they get a taste of one another, their chemistry is crazy hot. Max Monroe was able to bring together the raw passionate fucking that accompanies lust mixed with tender, sweet moments that come with love. What a fan-fucking-tastic cocktail that was, one that I could imbibe over and over again.

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I first dove into Wonderland. I think a part of my imagination had a desire for the laugh out loud humor we got with the Billionaire gang and while I’ll admit humor certainly accompanied the likes of Matt and Alex, though more Alex. . .it was different, don’t worry it was in a good way. But when it was all said and done, the last page was turned and the hangover had set, Max Monroe did what they do best and that’s create characters that you wish you knew and a story that made it impossible to escape from. Bxtches Be Reading5 Star Read for Bxtches Be ReadingAlex in Wonderland by Max Monroe | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comMax Monroe | www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

BXTCHES Gotta Warn: First things first, I bought and read this book back in September 2016. I have since read it about 4 other times, all with the intention of getting my thoughts out when I turned the last page, but for whatever reason (ahem. . .laziness), I never was able to get around to it. So, I finally committed myself and finished this book over the last couple of days and viola, here we are. It’s no secret that the MC genre is one of my favs, it’s also no secret that I am a firm believer that in order to immerse yourself in a really great MC series, you should read them in the order in which they were written. This happens to be a great MC series, hence. . .you should start from the beginning.

Rake’s Redemption will be told mostly through Bailey’s POV, however Rake will stop by and let us in his head every now and then.

We have actually already met Bailey. She was first introduced to us in Tracker and Lana’s story (book #3) when the girls have themselves a night out and run into her. Well, that night is where this story picks up. Anna and Lana are out at the MC owned Rift, when they run into Bailey, who is not only Rake’s ex, but was also very good friends with Anna and Lana and because of a very bad break-up between the Rake and Bailey, it has been years since they have seen her. Cue the excitement here. The problem? Rake is none too happy to see the one that he thought was The One.

After running into Rake, who happened to have his hands full with two women, the last place Bailey wants to find herself is in the past or standing in front of the man who broke her, regardless of how well he has aged over the past seven years. So when Rake gives her explicit instruction to keep her ass out of his club, she is happy to oblige. It becomes more difficult to keep that promise when Anna and Lana convince her that a night out is what they need and Rake will be none the wiser. Famous last words. . .

Severe side effects like increase in heartbeats or longer hard painful erections these should immediately be consulted with your doctor. This is how Kamagra 100mg cures ED so effectively and enhances your sexual life forever. buy cheap viagra If you are looking for osteopath at Stanmore can assess the structural changes which may lead to dysfunction or immobility due to muscular spasm, poor posture or decreasing 100mg viagra professional flexibility, recurring injuries, and secondary effects of knee, hip and foot problems. Marital animosity can as well be a big problem Sex Enhancing Herbs for Women Ginkgo Biloba This is a assemble that is an abundant animal analeptic for both men and women. effects of cialis While Bailey is satisfied to keep a friendship with the girls sans Rake, unfortunately Rake’s inability to keep it zipped up is gonna force a relationship to happen regardless of how unwanted one is. I should probably go ahead and let you BXTCHES in on a secret. . .Rake and Bailey were supposed to get the Happy Ever After, the love at the time may have been teenage love, but it was real and it was suppose to be the kind that took them into kids and grandkids. But, sometimes things don’t unfold the way they are supposed to and it only took one night to shatter whatever was meant to be and because of that night, two very different roads were paved. Rake went down the road where his dick barely got put away and it took an unexpected pregnancy for Bailey to straighten herself out. Now it’s seven years later and even though Rake has a lot of pent up anger towards Bailey and vice versa, old feelings are beginning to resurface and the tension between them is growing thicker and thicker, the question is. . .what will they do about it?

The first two books in this series were pretty loaded with the MC grit and drama, the kind that sucks us in and takes ahold of and while I LOVED book #3, it was certainly lighter on the MC side and I gotta say that it’s not gonna pick up too much here. We will get some moments, but the story is more focused on the second chance romance side more than it is on the outlaw side of the MC.

Chantal Fernando does a wonderful job of keeping the characters flowing from book to book. You will not be left wondering what’s happening with the ones we have already fallen for, we get great updates with Sin and Faye. . .Arrow and Anna. . .Tracker and Lana. We also get to drop in on Talon and his world, while being introduced to some new faces. Every character is perfectly placed and while you will fall in love with Bailey and Rake, as you should, no one will get neglected in the pages of this story.

We have already been introduced to Rake’s history with women. He has sampled them all. So even I was interested to see how the action was going to unfold in the bedroom and this BXTCH was not disappointed. She did a great job combining the Alpha dominant side of Rake with the romantic side of him and not just showing it on separate occasions, both personalities were brought into the bedroom and he wore them very well.

I fell in love with this series from the very first book and have continued to fall in love with every book since. Usually when I become addicted to a MC series, it’s the men of the series who do me in and have me coming back for more, but with this series, the women are the ones captivating me. They are written with fierce independence, the humor is fantastic and the bond that they share with one another rivals the men. If you are looking for a MC series that is heavy on the outlaw, this may not be the one. If you’re looking for some hot alphas, great camaraderie, really good humor, and a very well rounded story. . .then let me introduce you to the men of the Wind Dragons MC.Bxtches Be ReadingRake's Redemption (Wind Dragons MC Series, Book #4) by Chantal Fernando | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.com

Bromberg | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comThe Catch (The Player Duet Series, Book #2) by K. Bromberg | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.comBxtches Be Blogging Book ReviewsBXTCHES Gotta Warn: Book #1 (The Player), left us in a bit of a bind, so before you even wonder, YES, you must read that one before you tackle this one. There is no “but”, if you decide to play catch before you get played, you will be caught up in confusion, which will cause you to not love this series in the way the author intended. The good news? This is the last book in this series, so if you haven’t yet fell in love, you can start from the beginning and not come up for air until the very last page is turned, I certainly will not judge. Let’s get started.

The Catch will be told through the POV’s of both Easton and Scout.

We will pick up here right where we left off there. When the last page of The Player was turned, we knew that Scout was going into the meeting with the Aces all ready to clear Easton to play and Easton was all ready to take the field. Those are the things we knew, what we learned left us most likely uttering a very loud “WHAT THE FUCK!”, because we found out the the Aces were about to trade the prodigal son and unfortunately we were forced to wait it out. . .until now.

It’s gonna seem like I doling out spoilers here, but let me assure you BXTCHES, I’m not gonna reveal anything that you weren’t already gonna learn almost from the beginning. We knew that Scout was all set to clear Easton and not because he was giving her the deep dick, it was her professional opinion that he was ready to go. But something on a piece of paper caught her eye, and it was enough for her to tell the powers that be in that room, that she was unable to do the job bestowed upon her and that Easton Wylder would not be taking the field just yet. Even though Scout believes that her quick decision was what was best for Easton, his interpretation however, is that of betrayal. You gotta also remember that the reason Scout is even in Austin in the first place is to secure the contract with the Aces. By doing so, her dad would’ve had a contract with every team in the league, so she wasn’t only crucial in getting Easton back on the field, but she is the one that can essentially grant her dad his dying wish. So, no pressure or anything.

It doesn’t take too terribly long for Easton to come around and understand the reason Scout did what she felt necessary. However, it doesn’t change the fact that Easton is headed to Dallas and since the Aces offered her a probationary contract, she is keeping her ass in Austin.

While it probably would’ve been easy for Bromberg to just ride the trade cliffhanger she left us on to finish out the story in this book, that BXTCH decided to give us much more, so much more. The trade is only a tiny bit of the drama that is going to pour off these pages. It’s not all dread though. Easton and Scout were at the beginning stages of coupledom when we left them, so we still get to witness a very new relationship unfold and two people discovering one another while falling in love. They may have to continue their ride in two different cities, but the love growing is going to be very difficult for distance to sever.

You need to consume Kamdeepak capsules two times daily for two to three months for achieving successful results. levitra properien continue reading for info generic cialis sales Hallelujah! That is news worth celebrating, both for teens and for parents. Bob Dale has prostate-cancer and to cure it, he had to take female hormones, which caused linked here levitra without prescription him erection problems. These issues cause a man to suffer from muscle pain have found that they injure themselves because they buy levitra amerikabulteni.com add more work to the already tired back muscles by lifting and carrying things improperly. The cans that got opened during part one of this series, will need to get cleaned up in order for closure to take place and no worries, we get the closure that we will crave, but let’s not forget all the cans that were opened. Besides the Easton and Scout storyline, we have to finish the story of Scout and her dad. Not only the professional side and Scout doing her best to win a permanent contract with the Aces, but there is the personal side and the inevitable devastation that Scout will face once her dad loses the battle that he is facing. Right before Easton is delivered the blow by the trade news, the one responsible for his injury became his teammate and if you were thinking that Santiago was just going to be a blip, well. . .prepare yourself. Easton is still trying to reconcile and figure out the relationships between him and his mother and the one between him and his dad. There will be more, it will be heartbreaking, it will be eye opening, it will be love, but in the end. . .it will be beautiful.

There are a lot of people that bring this story to life with Easton and Scout being at the top. We don’t get a lot from the teammates in this one, but we do get more of Manny, who certainly plays a very important role in Easton’s life. There’s also all of the parents, from Easton’s dad and mom to Scout’s dying father, they all prove integral in who Easton and Scout are, not only separate, but who they are as a couple. And as strange as it may sound, the game of baseball will play a very entertaining, yet important role in this book as well. It’s not just a book that happens to have some baseball sprinkled in. . .this is a book about love, the love between a man and a woman and the love for a game. . .a game that is so magical that it’s able to bring even the most unlikely pair together. And that is where the beauty lies.

K. Bromberg does a great job at bringing the action alive and you BXTCHES know what the action is. You can’t really go wrong when a hot athlete is bringing it between the sheets and Easton certainly does not disappoint. While the sex is hot (and trust, it is), it’s the passion that Easton and Scout have for one another that’s gonna set your book and possibly your bed, on fire.

I have yet to tackle EVERY single page written by K. Bromberg. There are books that I have read, but haven’t yet reviewed, which just means a re-read is in order (tough, I know). But like most (I assume), I became captivated with this author during the emotional wringer she left me in with the Driven Series. The Player Duet Series, while not quite the emotional juggernaut, was easy for me to enjoy. . .I haven’t read a novel by Bromberg that I didn’t fall in love with. . .I LOVE baseball. . .AND. . .this series takes place in Texas (my home), so lots of boxes checked. The story she told that spanned these two books, unfolded like a great movie, with drama to match. She was able to tangle us up, she was able to catch us off guard, she was able cause our hearts to skip a couple of beats, all the while having us fall in love with not only the man, but the game as well. Everyone needs a great escape and Bromberg delivers it in a perfect package.Bxtches Be ReadingThe Catch (The Player Duet Series, Book #2) by K. So, Memorial Day weekend, the hubby was off, which isn’t really a terrible thing BUT it’s hard to read a book where emotional noise is required, whether it’s laughing or crying, while he is laying next to me (he’s an overnight worker FYI, so usually I have the bed to myself), because he tends to look at me like I’ve grown extra body parts when tears are streaming down my face all because of something that I’ve read and after getting just a glimpse of the reviews that were pouring in, I figured that was bound to happen. Now, funny enough this judgement is coming from the same man who when we went to see Titanic (all those years ago) was so emotionally moved that his contact was on his cheek by the time Jack sunk to the bottom. . .that is a true story, BXTCHES. But, whatevs, I just decided to hold off my nighttime reading routine and squeeze in some heartache whenever I could. Speaking of heartache and this is really where the real warning comes in, just prepare yourself. The cover above, while beautiful, is a bit deceiving. Look at it, it screams picnics on the lake and sunsets with the one you love and while I’m quite sure that after the last page was turned, Shelby and Eli were certainly enjoying the sunset whilst picnicking on the lake BUT for the sake of this book, I feel that it will be read one of two ways. . .you’re either going to need to read it in sections, while taking some breaks, you know to put your soul back together OR you will be a glutton for some punishment and read it in its entirety in one sitting, therefore causing a need for copious amount of tequila (or whatever sets you right), but again, to put your soul back together. Now that you have been warned, let’s talk about this fucking book.

The Story of Us will be brought to us from the POV’s of both Eli and Shelby.

Normally, I try to add a bit of “what is this book about” to my reviews, while adding my personal thoughts regarding the book throughout, and I’m still sticking to that format, but I’m gonna go in a little more vague. First, I don’t wanna ruin anything for you (that would make me an actual bitch) and secondly, you’re heart needs to be crushed just like this BXTCH’s heart was, because let’s face it. . .that is really the only way to come back around and really understand that sometimes you gotta trudge through some shit so you can actually enjoy lakeside picnics and sunsets.

We meet Eli while he is literally in the pits of hell. He and some of his Marine brothers (including his best friend, Rylan) are being held captive and have been for years and although they are being kept alive, life at that point is really subjective when you are being tortured and beaten on the regular. The one thing tethering Eli to any sort of heartbeat is the memory of Shelby. . .the one he left behind, the one he loves, the one that makes him whole, and the one he tore apart.

Shelby is a silent sufferer, maybe silent sufferer isn’t the write descriptor, she’s more of a silent protector. She believes that the love of her life, her ever after, was killed while serving his country and still she is going through her own personal hell, all in the name of Eli. There’s so much to say about Shelby, but let’s just do a quick rundown. Shelby comes from money and happened to come from a mother who is a raging bitch and that’s me being nice. Shelby and Eli meet while he is working in the stables of her family home, told you. . .money. Long story short, rich girl falls for not so rich guy. . .bitch mom has a reputation. . .just put two and two together and well. . .that’s all you’re gonna get from me on that.

I don’t think I’m spoiling too much if I actually let you in on the fact that Eli is not dead and one of the top things (of many) on his to-do list is find HIS Shelby and even though it’s been years since he has laid eyes on her, he knows that deep down inside, the one who captured his heart is still there and then there’s the small hiccup of everyone believing that he is actually dead. . .so, things aren’t right, I guess I should say that things aren’t the way they are supposed to be. Intrigued yet?

The way this story unfolds, you may find yourself reading on eggshells, just waiting for the torment to come raining down. The capture and torture that Eli suffers through is agony and the grief that Shelby has gone through is painful and when you realize that there is going to be so much more coming through, heartbreak will be an understatement. But it’s the beauty in their story that will have you wanting more. . .it’s the finding of love in the most difficult of situations that will have you eager to go on the journey. Since that’s all I’m willing to share, let’s talk about this fantastic cast of characters that Tara Sivec has conjured up.

It’s expected that you’re gonna fall in love with Eli and Shelby and trust a BXTCH you may fall hard, so brace. It’s the others, the ones written for support that are so compelling and will have you laughing and crying and cussing and angry. . .the whole spectrum gets covered. . .it will almost be like that time of the month but without the feeling of someone trying to rip out your uterus. The personality traits that each character brought to the story never bled into one another and what I thought she did so beautifully well was being able to draw the appropriate emotion from you. You know when you watch a movie and the antagonist is so convincing that you find yourself grinding your teeth and clenching your jaw because you just hate them so much, but that’s also how you know the actor/actress has really done their job, right? That’s how well some of these motherfuckers were written, it’s easy to fall in love with a character, it’s kinda what’s expected when you crack open a book. . .but to create a personality that one is supposed to despise and to do it, well what seems to be effortlessly. . .actually I was gonna say it must be difficult, but I’m not a writer, so I really wouldn’t know, but I do believe it has to be a ton of fun to write a character that you already know is going to be loathed. There is not one character written to help tell this story that wasn’t placed perfectly, that didn’t do the job, regardless of how big or small the part. Here’s the truth. . .while I love the ones that lead (and boy did I love Eli and Shelby), when an author can really round out a story with a pretty awesome supporting cast. . .it is greatness.

So, let’s get dirty. I knew that the sex between Eli and Shelby was going to be pretty explosive and it certainly was, but what I wasn’t expecting was the fucking to actually be tender and sweet and making love while still delivering the dirty talking, rough and good ole’ toe curling, nails down the back fucking. I didn’t even know that type of response could be conjured from me. . .it was wild and passionate and heartbreaking and loaded with love and lust. . .she basically rolled it all up and served it on a super sexy platter.

I think I’m pretty good at checking out new authors, but I do have my pocket of favorites and it’s those storytellers that are always my go to. The ones that I re-read, depending on the mood I’m in, the ones I always recommend when someone is looking for something new to read. I can always depend on Kristen Ashley or Harper Sloan when I need an Alpha fix. . .I go to Jaci J or River Savage when I’m looking to fall in love with a MC. . .if I need just pure sex on legs, I turn to Vi Keeland (and pair her with Penelope Ward and holy hotness). . .but when I’m looking to escape with laugh out loud comedy, my list is long, but Tara Sivec is at the top. So, I wasn’t real sure at what my emotions were going to go through with this book. I knew it wasn’t going to be funny, so that expectation had to be tucked away for the time being and the only reviews that I noticed, were popping up on Facebook and I only really paid attention to the intros, not so much the actual review (I like to go in blind), so I knew I was going to get some form of anguish.

Anguish just didn’t cover it. I’m not sure how far into the imagination Tara Sivec had to go to pull this story out, but JFC, when that BXTCH gets an idea, she goes all in and even though the journey broke my heart and even though there may have been times during those breaks I cussed her just a tiny bit, in the end, it was worth it. I was the reader who needed to put it down, I was also the reader whose favorite parts of the book were the ones where Eli was the most broken, because that was when the story was the most raw and Tara was at her best.Bxtches Be Reading5 Star Read for Bxtches Be ReadingThe Story of Us by Tara Sivec | Review on www.bxtchesbeblogging.com
